3 RULES OF THE SNOWBOARD FIS POINTS 2014/2015 These Rules are integrated part of the ICR 1. The Competition 1.1 Requirements Only such races will be taken into consideration for FIS points rankings as meet the following requirements: - Announcement of the competition in the International FIS Calendar. - Additional races which are registered at the FIS office and the National Federations being informed at least 14 days prior to the first competition. - Strict observance of the International Competition Rules (ICR). 1.2 Evaluation Period Central Europe, North America and Asia. The evaluation period for Central Europe, North America and Asia starts October 1 st and ends April 30 th. Exception: FIS World Cup Points Southern Hemisphere For the Southern Hemisphere, the evaluation period starts July 1 st and ends September 30 th. 1.3 Schedule Changes, Moving and Cancellation Changes in schedule, i.e. moving the race to another date or site, cancellation of competition, or essential changes in the race program must at once be communicated to the: - FIS Office, CH-3653 Oberhofen/Thunersee, Phone: / , Fax / hostettler@fisski.com - National Associations - Technical Delegate (TD) assigned to the competition 2. The Competitors 2.1 Registration - Competitors are registered by using the FOU System on the FIS website via the Member Section: Change the status active to inactive for all those competitors who should no longer be included on the FIS points list. Competitors with the status active will be considered as registered for the coming season. Injured competitors must remain active with the FIS to maintain injury protection. - Only competitors who have signed the Athletes Declaration as per ICR art may be registered for a FIS License. The National Ski Association is responsible for ensuring that the competitor has appropriate insurance and has signed the FIS Athlete s Declaration. Page 3
4 - Active (in the FIS points list): The status active remains also if athletes do not participate in a FIS event. Status changes from active to inactive can only be done between and Only competitors with an active FIS code are allowed to participate in FIS events. Entries are controlled by the Organiser and the FIS Technical Delegate First Registration At the time of first registration of competitors for the FIS points list, FIS points as well as already notified FIS Code numbers (see art 2.2) must be controlled precisely. If they are wrong, the points and the competitions where they were earned, must be indicated. 2.2 Code Number Only competitors with a valid FIS code shall be admitted to FIS competitions. 3. Validity of the Individual Points Lists and Printing Deadlines The validity of the lists is scheduled in coordination with the competition schedule for Olympic Winter Games, World Championships and World Cup events. 3.1 Printing Deadlines and Validity FIS Points Lists - Snowboard List Results from to Begin validity: End validity: Base List 14/15 All valid results from season 13/14 calculation middle of June 1. 14/ / / / / / / / / Period of Objection National Associations may contest the accuracy of one FIS points list until the printing deadline of the following list by addressing their objection to the FIS Office. Protests received after the date indicated cannot be considered nor may any claims be made during seeding and drawing. Page 4

FIS Snowboard Points 4.1 Race Points Calculation Process For every international competition registered in the FIS calendar, FIS Snowboard points are awarded from 1 st place down to 90% of the ranked competitors or 100 th place, whichever is the lower number. The calculated 90% will be always rounded up (e.g. 41.1% becomes 42). Page 5

9 Entry Points Pos. % Scale The point values for all scales are based on the same percentage points awarded as in scale 1000 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th,...99th, 100th place in relation to the first place Competition Levels and Corresponding Scales Level 1 competitions: Scale 1000 Olympic Winter Games, World Championships, World Cup events are considered level 1 competitions Junior World Championships are considered from scale 500 to scale Level 2 competitions: Scale 500 to scale 200 and 500 to scale 50 Page 9
10 Continental Cups The scale for Continental Cups will be at a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 500 FIS points Universiade The scale for Universiade will be at a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 500 FIS points Level 3 competitions: Scale 360 to scale 50 FIS National Championships are considered level 3 competitions Level 4 competitions Scale 260 to scale 50 FIS International competitions YOG and EYOF are considered level 4 competitions Selection of the scale for level 2, level 3 and level 4 competitions - The calculation for the FIS point level of an international competition is based on the average (arithmetic mean) to the FIS points of the best 5 competitors who have started in the competition (behind comma always rounded up e.g. 380,4-381 points). - At an international Snowboard competition FIS points will be awarded if 5 competitors with or without FIS points have started and at least 3 have finished. - If only 3 or 4 competitors have finished the competition, the sum of their FIS Points is still divided by 5 to obtain the FIS points level for the competition. After the calculation of the average points, one of the scales which are listed under item is selected. - To choose the best possible scale, the average point value must be equal to or higher than the corresponding entry point. Average points Entry points Applied Scales Race levels ,3, ,3, ,3 400* (360) level 4 (3) races cannot be better than 260 (360) points 4 (3) * FIS International competitions or FIS National Championships. 4.2 FIS Points Calculation Process Base FIS Points List (BL) The Base FIS Points List (BL) will be published before the end of June The average of the best two results in each event during the past season will be used for the calculation of the BL list If a competitor has obtained only one result per event during the past season, 40% will be deducted from the points of the previous BL. 11 If a competitor has not obtained results during the past season, 80% will be deducted from the points of the previous BL Injured competitors If the injury status is approved and a competitor has not started more than 3 times during the valid season, 10% will be deducted from the competitor s BL points if the current points are not better as the protected points Normal FIS Points list (NL) The FIS Points list number one will be published 1 st July based on the BL The NL will reflect the average of a competitor s best two results in each event during the current season if the points are better as the BL Only one result and no BL points If a competitor has only one result in the current season, the FIS points will be calculated as follows: Result minus 40 % Only one result and BL points If a competitor has only one result in the current season but has BL points then the BL points will be valid Injury Status Registration FIS Points can be protected according to if a competitor is injured. The National Ski Association must apply to FIS within 3 weeks after an injury with the official form and a medical certificate. The injury status resp. the official form and medical certificate is valid only for one season. This is not valid for the World Cup Standing injury status Conditions At least 90 days must have been passed between the time of the injury and the competitors first start. Competitors must remain registered as active with FIS to maintain injury protection. A competitor cannot start more than 3 times during the valid season Professional Obligations or Military Service If a National Ski Association submits an application for a study or military status certifying that a competitor will not be able to compete because of professional obligations (studies) or military service, and has indicated why and how long the competitor was prevented from competing, the procedure will be handled according to art Applications Applications for status due to professional obligations or military service must be submitted to the FIS Office prior to the beginning of the professional obligations. 12 4.3 Anti-Doping Rule violation A competitor subject to an anti-doping rule violation will have previously achieved FIS points deleted according to article FIS Anti Doping Rules. 5. The FIS Points lists 5.1 The FIS points lists are only available electronically and can be downloaded free of charge from the ftp://ftp.fisski.ch/software/files Recommendation: Install the FIS list programme (Fislistsetup.exe) on your computer, also available on ftp://ftp.fisski.ch/software/programs. With this you can easily work with the FIS points! SBFPxxx.zip is the file that is compatible with the FIS points list program (the xxx is always the number of the list and season - for example 1 st List 2014/2015=SBFP151F.zip = full list or SBFP151P = only updated information since last list). 5.2 The FIS Points For the following disciplines, FIS points are calculated: - Parallelslalom, Slalom, Parallel Giant Slalom & Giant Slalom - Halfpipe - Snowboard Cross - Big Air - Slopestyle Ranking List All ladies and men (for five disciplines) up to 200 th place Alphabetical List All ladies and men (for five disciplines) with their year of birth and their FIS points Ties in the FIS points list If there are competitors with the same FIS points, their rank will be determined by the best results. If still tied, the second best respectively the third best results will be used, etc. If still tied both competitors receive the same place in the FIS points list Special Identification The competitors with penalties are identified as follows: * Points from BL (better than current results, no results or only one result in current season) + Only one result and no BL points (in BL only one result in the past season) > No result in the last season, points from previous BL with penalty # Protected points for injured athletes which are better than results No sign: Current average of results (better than BL) Page 12
13 6. Registration Fees 6.1 Registration Fee per Season for each Competitor Entries through the FOU System: The registration fee for each competitor is CHF during the entire season. Entries through the FIS Office: Until 31 st December, registration fee of CHF As from 1 st January, registration fee of CHF Registration Fee with Points Confirmation For registrations, with an immediate FIS points confirmation (immediate validity of the points) on request of the National Ski Association, the registration fee is increased to CHF 80. per competitor. 6.3 Method of Payment - At the beginning of the season each NSA will receive an invoice for 70% of its total 2012/2013 invoice that will be debited from its FIS account. At the end of the season, each NSA will receive a detailed season invoice for all registered athletes and the balance will either be debited or credited through its FIS NSA account. 7. Instructions for Organizers and Technical Delegates 7.1 Electronic Data Transmission The results must be transmitted electronically and in FIS format ( AlpineResults@fisski.ch). The TD must supervise the correct transmission of the results and make a corresponding report and also check if the results on the website are correct. Please fax or the TD reports of the competitions, which take place within 10 days before a deadline immediately to the FIS. Results without TD and Timing reports will be no longer included in the FIS points list.! For results which are not sent electronically in the FIS format close to the printing deadline, there is no guarantee that the results will be published in the following FIS list even if they are sent on time. 14 7.1.1 Composition of the file name for the transmission of race results: - Nation of OC (three letters as listed in the FIS Directory) - Codex (according to the FIS Calendar) After the point: - xml 7.2 Report One original copy each of the official result lists, the form "calculation of the penalty" or the controlled and signed penalty calculation made by computer have to be sent by . as pdf at the latest three days after the competition along with the official "Report of the Technical Delegate", the Timing Technical Report form to the FIS and if necessary the Injury Report. 7.3 Signature of the Technical Delegate Official results and the penalty calculation made by computer must bear the authentic signature of the Technical Delegate and the personal TD number. 7.4 Recommendation for Evaluation or Non-evaluation Should there be valid reasons to exclude the competition from being evaluated for FIS points, these reasons must be indicated on the "Report of the Technical Delegate". If a competition has to be cancelled after a large number of competitors have finished; the Technical Delegate must submit a report with a recommendation for evaluation or non-evaluation of the race. 15 REGLEMENT SNOWBOARD FIS-PUNKTE 2014/2015 Diese Regeln sind integrierter Bestandteil der IWO. 1. Der Wettkampf 1.1 Voraussetzungen Für die FIS-Punktebewertung können nur Wettkämpfe herangezogen werden, welche die nachstehenden Voraussetzungen erfüllen: - Ausschreibung im Internationalen FIS Kalender. - Zusatzrennen die mindestens 14 Tage vor dem ersten Wettkampftag dem FIS Büro sowie den Nationalen Verbänden gemeldet werden - Einhaltung aller Bestimmungen der IWO. 1.2 Der Bewertungszeitraum Mitteleuropa, Nordamerika und Asien. Der Bewertungszeitraum für Mitteleuropa, Nordamerika und Asien wird vom 1. Oktober bis am 30. April festgelegt. Ausnahme: FIS Weltcup Südliche Hemisphäre Für die südliche Hemisphäre gilt der Bewertungszeitraum vom 1. Juli bis am 30. September. 1.3 Terminänderungen, Verschiebungen und Absagen Terminänderungen wie örtliche und zeitliche Verschiebungen und Absagen von Wettkämpfen, ferner wesentliche Änderungen im Programm müssen umgehend dem - FIS-Büro, CH-3653 Oberhofen/Thunersee Tel: / , Fax: / hostettler@fisski.com - den Nationalen Verbänden - dem zugeteilten Technischen Delegierten (TD) mitgeteilt werden. 2. Die Wettkämpfer 2.1 Anmeldung - Die Athleten können via FOU System auf der FIS Webseite unter der Member Section registriert werden: Es sind all jene Wettkämpfer mit dem Status Aktiv auf Inaktiv zu setzen, welche nicht mehr für die FIS-Punkteliste berücksichtigt werden sollen. Wettkämpfer mit Status Aktiv" gelten als angemeldet für die kommende Saison. Wettkämpfer mit Verletztenstatus müssen als aktive Wettkämpfer gemeldet werden und aktiv bleiben. - Es können nur diejenigen Wettkämpfer aufgenommen werden, welche die Athletenerklärung beim Nationalen Ski Verband gemäss Art IWO unterzeichnet haben. Der Nationale Ski Verband ist verantwortlich, dass die Athleten die Athlenenerklärung unterzeichnet haben und genügend versichert sind. Page 15
16 - Aktiv (in der FIS Punkte Liste): Der Status Aktiv wird beibehalten, auch wenn ein Athlet nicht an FIS Wettkämpfen startet. Status Änderungen von Aktiv auf Inaktiv können nur zwischen und getätigt werden. - Nur Athleten mit einem aktiven FIS Code sind bei FIS Wettkämpfen zugelassen. Der Organisator und der Technische Delegierte, sollen die Anmeldungen kontrollieren Erstanmeldung Bei der Erstanmeldung eines Wettkämpfers für die FIS-Punkteliste müssen die allenfalls herausgefahrenen FIS-Punkte genau kontrolliert werden sowie auch die schon vorhandene FIS Code Nummer, welche bei einer Anfrage erteilt wurde (Art. 2.3). Stimmen sie nicht, sind die Punkte und die Wettkämpfe, bei denen sie erzielt worden sind, anzugeben. 2.2 Codenummer Es werden nur Wettkämpfer (Damen und Herren) mit einem gültigen FIS Code zu den Rennen zugelassen. 3. Gültigkeit und Redaktionsschluss der einzelnen Punktelisten Die Gültigkeit der jeweiligen Listen wird im Zusammenhang mit dem Wettkampfkalender für Olympische Winterspiele, Weltmeisterschaften und Weltcup koordiniert. 3.1 Redaktionsschluss und Gültigkeit List Results from to Begin validity: End validity: Base List 14/15 All valid results from season 13/14 calculation middle of June 1. 14/ / / / / / / / / Einsprachefristen Gegen die Richtigkeit einer FIS-Punkteliste können die nationalen Verbände bis zum Redaktionsschluss der nächsten Liste beim FIS Büro Einspruch erheben. Später eingehende Einsprachen werden zurückgewiesen und können bei der Gruppierung nicht geltend gemacht werden. Page 16
17 4. FIS Snowboard Punkte 4.1 Die Berechnungsmethode der Wettkampfpunkte Für jeden im FIS Kalender veröffentlichten Wettkampf werden vom ersten bis einschließlich dem 100. Platz FIS Snowboard Wettkampfpunkte vergeben. Punkte werden an 90 % der gewerteten Athleten vergeben, maximal bis zu Platz 100. Die berechneten 90 % werden immer aufgerundet (z.b FIS Punkte bis zu Platz 42). Page 17
