2 Dear Courage Classic Rider, Welcome to the 2016 Courage Classic! Since 1989, the Courage Classic bike tour has taken participants down quiet rural roads and over challenging ascents in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, all in the name of raising funds for Children s Hospital Colorado. We know that many of you join us to honor children, families, and caregivers who have touched your lives. Together, we pedal courageously forward to transform children s health, and we are extraordinarily grateful for your support. This year, we re offering an exhilarating two-day format for Courage Classic to enhance your overall tour experience. Motivated by approximately 2,000 passionate riders, 400 selfless volunteers, and dozens of dedicated sponsors who join us, we hope the family-friendliness of the new and improved Courage Classic inspires you. 2 As we enter our 27th Courage Classic, we will have raised nearly $40 million for the patients and families served by Children s Colorado since our bike tour s inception. Year by year, our momentum and determination have grown. Last year, Children s Colorado launched the most ambitious philanthropic campaign in the hospital s history, Courage is The Campaign to Transform Children s Health. Since then, the community has come together in incredible ways to support our courageous vision to reimagine pediatric medicine. Generous donors, board members, community partners, and event participants like you have contributed more than $235 million toward the Courage is Campaign more than half of our overall goal of $400 million. These funds will transform the future of care for children here in Colorado, in our region, and around the world. Whether you re a Courage Classic rookie or a long-time tour cyclist, get ready to jump on your bike and come along for an amazing ride! Sponsored by the Copper Mountain Resort Association, Kids Night Out is a FREE three hour childcare service within the hours of operation, offered to parents on the condition that $30 per child is spent in any commercial outlet (shopping or dining, activities excluded) at the resort during the three hours that your children are in the program. We do require original receipts to verify the expenditure. If you do not anticipate spending $30 per child, have a child that does not meet the age requirements, or need more than three hours of childcare, please ask about our babysitter list. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance (sameday reservations and walk-ups may be accepted on a space available basis). For further information or to make an advanced reservation, please call , extension Tour Celebration Lantern Lighting and Fireworks 8:00 9:30pm Westlake Immediately following the band after Saturday s celebration, join us at Westlake as we light up the lake with special floating lanterns dedicated by YOU. Simply grab a dedication bib at rider check-in to dedicate yours to someone that inspires you. After the lanterns are launched, stay for a festive firework display to close out the night! Woodward Copper To book a lesson, please call Woodward Barn Woodward Copper is designed as an action sports training ground! Woodward Copper is for everyone! Freestyle lessons start at age 6 and up, intro and drop-in sessions are available for those 8 and up, as well as programs for those as young as 1 year old! No previous experience is required, only interest. Intro sessions, drop-in sessions and two-hour private lessons are available.*must book 24 hours in advance by calling Lift & Lunch 10am 2:30pm 10am 2:30pm 10am 2:30pm $17 per person. Parking is available at the Chapel Parking Lot. Mountain Pose Yoga 12:00pm Top of the American Eagle lift Join our weekly yoga series where students gather in the beauty of nature. Classes will begin with pranayama (breathing), followed by a warm-up, which will lead into a dynamic flow of standing and seated postures. Please bring a yoga mat (or one can be provided for you), dress in layers, wear sunscreen and bring water. The lift is free when you show $12 in receipts from the village. Lift tickets are available in Copper Sports in Center Village (weather permitting). Nature Talks 10:30am Meet at the base of the American Eagle lift Participate in an informative talk about the plants and animals that call Copper Mountain home. Athletic Club 7:00am - 8:00pm 7:00am - 8:00pm 7:00am - 8:00pm $10 day pass The club features a 25-yard pool, co-ed spa and locker rooms with hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms. The weight room features free weights and Cybex equipment. Available in the Cardio Center are stationary bikes, treadmills, a rowing machine, stair climbers and elliptical trainers.
