2 In this information booklet i will be taking you through my kidney transplant experience and the seven years after the operation. I hope that this booklet will show you the magnificent and magical side of saving someone else is life through organ donation. Theres a reason they call it the gift of life.

3 MY STORY I was born with Kidney failure 20years ago. I was lucky to be alive and with the magnifecnt work at the great Ormond Street Hospital london they were able to save half of the function of one of my Kidneys. 13 years i lived on that kidney and in those thirteen years i lived a loved life but it was a struggle. I wasn t eating and by that i mean i couldnt finish a packet of crisps. Also i wasn t growing and gaining any weight. In hospital they were doing tests on me every 5months to see when would it be suitable for me to have the transplant. Soon the date was given which was the 26th of January 2011 and my mum was the best match for donating. 7 years since the transplant and i m living an amazing life and in this booklet i will show you how a Kidney Transplant can save lives and give a new realease of life to people.

4 My Results To show you how astonishing a kidney transplant is I m going to show my own results from 2011 to The result are based on my Creatinine which is a medical term used for the toxins in the blood. A job of a kidney is to clean the blood and get rid of the waste such as the Creatinine. A normal man with two functional Kidneys have a Creatinine of Mine before the transplant was at 70. KEY Clean Kidney Creatnine These kidneys show my Creatinine in the first 2 months in 2011 after transplant. The data shows how quick the Kidney does its job. The most bizzare statistic is how quick the Creatinine fell from 770 to 300 within 12 hours of the transplant.

6 The next results show the Creatinine growth from the lowest to the highest level it s reached since Transplant. KEY Clean Kidney Creatinine The lowest my Creatinine went was 66 on the 13/06/2011. The highest was 132 which was the 10/09/2017. That ironically shows that the creatnine went up exactly 66. Why has this happened? In my opinion this happened due to changes in my development. Back in 2011 i was thirteen which is the start of the teenage years. Due to my changes like growth and gaining weight my muscles have grown which has increased the toxins in the blood.

7 770 Growth in Creatinie Over Time This ragged pattern shows my creatnine growth over the last 7 years. You can see that the Creatnine has grown this is due to muscle growth and also can be caused by stress. Over the last 3 years i have gone through A levels and also moved to Cardiff to study in University. The first results of 2018 showed that my Creatnine fell from 132 to 111. Ths could be due to the fact i was ill the week before that ment i was drinking lots and not eating. This may have had the Creatnine down.

8 By looking back on these results and try to remeber what i was going through at the time could explain why my Creatinie goes up and down The Creatinie was reaching the lowest levels in years this was due to constant check ups and a large amount of Medication. But the growth has come over the last 4 years. This could be that my body have started to develop into a teenager and then the growth has changed again in the last year to develop me into a man. The toxins would be realeased by the muscle for the changes and will make the levels rise. My Creatinine in University September January 2018 Also 4 years ago i was finishing GCSE s and then going through A levels. Creatinine could rise by the stress of going through exams and course work. Another stressful time was moving away from home to study in Cardiff. To show my Creatinine while being in University i made this to show my levels. As can see it has been constantly changing. The most specific increases is the 129 spike and 132. Both of these results were taking in the same month but different years. 129 was taken in September 2016 and the other September This hugely shows that my stress of coming to University in 2016 increased my Creatinie levels. This was probably the case with 132 results because this results was taken exactly 6 days ( ) before i went back to University for my second year. The smaller pikes show increase of toxins close to end of terms. This tells me that the pikes were done by deadline work stress These results are great data to show that how stress levels can increase blood toxins and is a reason why my Creatinie levels have been bouncing up and down through out the last year in University. Also from using this data i could show my average Creatinine over the University year which was Using this data i could give an estimate Creatinine score for my next appointment result which will be in March. I would suggest it would be higher than the recent 111 due to deadline stress. But using the results my estimatio would be between because the smaller peaks went up to 120 barrier ans slightly over.
