1 Farah Derbala Ein el Sokhna Most people look to the sky when they think of heaven but all I have to do is look to my second home. The lustrous sun shining its rays across the radiant sea, the sound of children playing on the soft white silky sand, and the wind combing the knots from my hair. This is Ein el Sokhna. The relaxing environment, the animals. and the people on this beach make it my get away from the mess of Cairo. The reason why Ein el Sokhna is my favorite place is because of its relaxing environment. The wind carries the smell of the sea salt around the place, and when it reaches my nose I feel my inside refreshing. My feet collide with the soft tiny rocks of the sand and I feel that their one. The mirage on the sand makes me want to keep on going to see what's still there. The different shades of blue make up the sea which never ends. and hearing the waves splashing on the fishing docks. I look up to the sky and I see different shapes of cotton candy. I try to figure out what they are. but the shapes are just too unique. t also see the sun looking down at me, shining its rays all over earth. and it's the reason why tropical plants are growing all over the place. From the details of the sand to the stars in the sky. the surroundings of Ein et Sokhna make me feel relaxed and calm. The different and exotic animals in Ein el Sokhna are an exciting change from Cairo. It's fun trying to glide through the rocks, trying to catch the crabs either with buckets or with large nets. Listening to music while patiently waiting on the side of the dock. holding the fishing rod waiting for the fish to eat the bait. But watching the dolphins moving in and out of the water in a routine which seems as if it was perfectly planned makes my stay even more and more sensational. Holding a starfish in your hand putting it next to your ear as if it was your method of communication with the mermaids. From the patience of fishing to the difficulty of catching crabs Ein el Sokhna presents many unique animals. Maybe my favorite thing about Ein el Sokhna is that it allows everyone free time to enjoy the holidays together. Although there's the weekend where I spend some time with my family, it's not like if I spend the time with them on the beach. It brings back memories of many years of happiness, joy, sadness and tears and the celebrations and events that happened there. Also the recent times I have went with my friends to tan on the beach. or to swim in the mysterious blue sea. are all new memories I'll add on to my list. All the memories I've spent with my family and friends make Ein el Sokhna a place I'll never forget. Ein el sokhna's relaxing environment. the animals, and the people allow me to forget the hardships of Cairo. The capital city is meant for work and it is difficult to find free time, which is important to our health and our lives. This is such an important place to me because it allows me to relax and not be constantly busy and time locked with many things like in Cairo. Though not everybody is lucky enough to be able to visit a beach like me. it's always important to get away and rethink life. Block A Hannah Lasheen

2 Saturday 15th December 2007 Descriptive Essay In many countries, Sharm EI-Sheikh is known for its magnificent beaches and its extraordinary weather. Sharm EI-Sheikh is located in the northeast region of Egypt. It is found in an area called Sinai. Many people from all over the world fly a long way to enjoy and amazing vacation there. There are many brilliant hotels there to stay at. It is one of the main centers of attraction in Egypt. Sharm EI-Sheikh is a wonderful and a very enjoyable place. People start there day at 7:00am in the morning, so they can have enough time to do every activity. The beach is what attracts people and that's mainly what tourists come for. The beach there is like no other beach in the world. The sand in Sharm EI-Sheikh is the softest sand in Egypt, it is also the warmest. Kids love playing in the yellow colored sand, building sandcastles. Sounds of joy could be heard everywhere, kids laughing and having fun. The round sun shines like burning coal. People lie on the beach for hours under the vivid sun. People-usually women- tend to stay for hours tanning and they usually get the perfect color, a great bronze color. Ice- cream sellers are everywhere on the beach. You can also sometimes have great lunch meals on the beach while you are tanning. The smell of fresh air runs through your nose the whether is never too cold and never too warm it is perfect and there is no pollution. A day on the beach is like a day in paradise. The sea is another huge attraction. Sharm EI-Sheikh lies on the red-sea. There are many things that can carry you away inside the sea. Activities like snorkeling; diving; surfing; wind-surfing; water rides such as banana boats, jet ski's and etc; and of course, swimming. There are no waves at all in the water, the water is almost flat. The waters temperature is perfect. The view under-water is like a view of the circus. There are millions of fish. Not any type of fish; but, all types of fish, different shape, different color and different size. It is very interesting to look at all those colorful interesting fish. Another thing that completes the view under water is the coral reefs; the red-sea is full of them in all the possible colors. From children to granny's, everyone enjoys the sea; people from all types of nationalities and cultures are pictured in Sharm with huge smiles on there faces. The sea in Sharm EI-Sheikh is perfect. Night life in Sharm EI-Sheikh isn't like any night life anywhere. There is usually a small breeze that makes the weather at night perfect. People usually go to Naema-Bay where that center of attraction is at night. This place is very unique at night because it is full of excellent cafes, bars and restaurants; usually where everyone would like to be at night. All the fun carries away the people and they often tend to stay up until 3:00am in the morning. That, along with the beach, makes Sharm EI-Sheikh a member of the top ten most wonderful places to visit. It makes Sharm EI-Sheikh popular with tourists from all over the world. Sharm EI-Sheikh is the ideal place to have your next vacation- it is beyond comparing with other areas.

The land itself was a desolation, lifeless without movement, so lonely and cold, that the spirit of it was not even that of sadness. There was a breakthrough through all this: A cave in the midst of the rocky mountains in Ein-EI-Sokhna. An amazing scene. Among all these obstacles lay the cave of mystery. Inside there, was a hint of laughter but of laughter more terrible than any sadness- a laughter cold as the frost and partaking of the grimness and infallibility. A laughter that was mirthless as the smile of the sphinx. Hanging at the top of the mountain was a cave. The thick needle-leaves concealed it completely, and the cave's strong smell masked any other scent. Such would take my breath away. Inside the cave was an amazing world-a world of enchantment In the secret world, lay thousands of mysteries ready to be untold. For in the cave, lay huge webs spanned every space in the outside surface of the wall, stretching from dark green-needled branches to another. Seen from the inside of the wall, they were striking and dramatic, silhouetted against the pale sky and with dew drops, the speckled spiders waited in their hiding places ready to pounce, invisible from outside but horribly painful from the inside where it was lying. Such animals are enlightened me. Every now and then a bee would come and would be caught by the spider. The spider would devour it in a second. It was a fixed terrible image-unthinkable and real. The malevolent, narrowed eyes of the spider and the lifted head, heavy and brutal slashed in the bee's body. It was a frantic scramble, but in the frenzy of splashing water, the bee was dead. It was an amazing scene. Some people might see these places as hell and that the image of this place was too bold, risky or even flamboyant. But to me, and my family, this is an amazing place. The rocky hills and the cave just move me and my family. Caves are amazing places that help shape our land! We don't see such places everyday you know and so we must grab the chance when we have it. Try entering a cave Mr. Shifflet, trust me, you will be amazed!

4 The Beach Dina Ashraf Bebars, Block E Fun in the sun, summer excitement or a splash in the sea all makes you think of the fun and relaxing beach. The beach is where you can forget all your problems and just relax. You probably go to the beach in the summer only because that's when it's the perfect time and weather for a dip in the water. The beach is a place where all your family and friends can gather and have a luxurious time talking and maybe getting a tan. There are a lot of things to do in the beach and swimming is probably the most popular. The beach to me is summed up into two simple words, fun and relaxing. The beach to my family and friends is an amazing vision. We all see it as being a warm, loving place. The smell of the of the salty water. The sound of happy children laughing and playing. The soft golden sand in between your toes is just a wondrous feeling. The sun heating your head like a boiler heating water. The beach to a lot of people might be just some water and sand but to me, my family and friends the beach is much more than that. It is an enjoyable peaceful place to hang out and just relax. The wide, deep and blue sea is spectacular to look at. The most rewarding thing is to sit on the beach during sunset. It's just like the sky putting its child, the sun, to sleep and the moon is awakened to light up the black blanket of sky with the help of the stars. When its night time and the sea is calm and the waves are quiet you can still hear the tiny splashing of fish swimming around looking for food like panicky show hosts before presenting their show. The beach is everything. The sun, the surf and waves make it all worth while. There are many things you can do in he beach. You can talk or just relax with your friends and family or maybe even sit alone and feel the breeze of cool air go through your hair. You can build sand castles with the children or just on your own, and protect it from other people around the beach like a bird protecting its nest. You can eat and drink as much as you want. You can listen to music if you don't enjoy listening to the soft whistle of the air and the laughter of happy people around you. You can jog around the beach along the shore. You can collect seashells like a wild animal collecting some food. You can also just look at the wonderful view or read a book in peace. You can do just about anything at the beach. The most unnoticed item that we do need to be completely prepared for going to the beach is a swimming suit. It's the clothes you wear when swimming in the water. It never gets dirty because if you get sand on you can just wash it off with the water. It makes you feel like you're a mermaid swimming and gliding in the water with your so called fins. Swimming suits are very colorful and pleasant to look at. They feel like smooth silk to me. I love all kinds of swim suits like the bikini (2 pieces), the one piece, the tankini (a longer bikini top). When there is a crowd of people on the beach you can almost see a rainbow being formed from all the colors you can see. The beach to me is just about everything because its just so much fun. I love going out onto the beach and exploring or rather destroying the sand castles like an invader destroying a town. Another attraction to the beach is actually the weather. It is very hot with a slight cold breeze. When I go to the beach I just let go have some fun in the sun. The beach is where my family and I meet after a long year of hard exhausting work. We have time to talk and just be our selves with no worries. I always ask myself why would anyone want to leave? Me, my family and friends would answer yes why would anyone leave such a relaxing and fun place?
