3 MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals. The meet will be seeded by computer based on coach s scratch sheet. Coaches will receive a positive check-in sheet before each session, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session check in. Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck. Coaches will be able to pick up heat sheets for each event at the timing desk. On Sunday evening, open events may be combined girls/boys. SITE: The Burbank YMCA Competition Pool is an 8-lane, 25-yard pool with seven-foot wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines. Fully automatic Dak- Tronic Timing Systems electronic timing with touchpads at the finish end of the pool with an eight-line electronic display. There are no touchpads at the turn end of the pool. Attached to the main pool is a teaching/therapy pool that is available for warm up and warm down, approximately 30 x 50 feet in size. The finish end of the pool is 10 feet deep; the turn end of the pool is 4 feet deep. Spectator seating for 150. The pool is located inside the Burbank YMCA, 36 Arthur B Lord Dr., Reading MA Please enter through the main entrance at the front of the building. Directions may be found later in this document. COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards). EVENTS and SESSIONS: See attached list.* The distance events may be combined heats of boys and girls, depending on entries. ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be full privilege members in good standing of their YMCA as of 12/01/12. All swimmers must be listed on their

4 Eastfield registered team roster. This meet is a closed inter-association YMCA meet. It can be counted toward the 3 meet requirement for championships. ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries will be accepted on and after November 30 th Entries received before November 30th, 2012 will be considered received on November 30th. Entries must be received no later than December 23rd, Make checks payable to Burbank YMCA. Mail completed forms (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to attn: Sue Hunter, c/o Burbank YMCA 36 Arthur B Lord Drive Reading, MA All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and dates of birth or USA swim registration number. All entries must include a completed and signed entry cover sheet and waiver. No deck entries will be accepted. No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry. ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be ed as an attachment to Mark Taffe at mtaffe@ymcaboston.org and Yasser Rizk at yrizkgigi@aol.com. Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. For entries, payment and hardcopy of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be received within four

5 (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of receipt of the entry. If payment is received within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of the entry, the receipt date will be considered the date of entry. If payment is received more than four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the entry, the payment receipt date will be considered the date of entry. ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter and swim in a maximum of 4 individual events and two relays per session. If the meet is over-subscribed, teams may be asked to reduce the # of swims per athlete per day. This will be decided no later than 3 days after the entry receipt deadline. ENTRY TIME UPDATES: Entry times may be updated until 5 days prior to the first day of the meet. No new entries will be accepted after the entry deadline. Entry time updates should be sent via to Mark Taffe at mtaffe@ymcaboston.org and Yasser Rizk at yrizkgigi@aol.com. Entry time updates must be sent as Hy-Tek format CL2 files with updated times. (New entries will be automatically excluded.) ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $4.00 for individual events. Nonelectronic entries: $5.00 for individual events. $16.00 for relay entries. Swimmer surcharge is $5.00. ENTRY TIMES: All entries must be specified in short-course yard (25-yard pool) times. Meter times must be converted to yard times. (Entries with NO TIME will be rejected.) ENTRY CUTS: Entry cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of

6 receipt. Teams will be notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within 2 days of receipt of entry. If the meet becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on the date the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with New England Swimming guidelines. Teams that are cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of being cut. A proof of your team s entry will be ed to confirm any changes. OFFICIALS: All officials are invited to assist with the meet. Please contact Sue Hunter at suehunter1@verizon.net by December 15 th if you wish to officiate. Officials who would like to volunteer on deck are welcome. This will aid in meet planning. Please indicate whether you are a YMCA Level I or Level II in your . There will be a hospitality room for officials on Saturday and Sunday. PROGRAMS: $3.00 per session. ADMISSION: $1.00 per session. WARMUPS: The pool will open for warm-ups one hour before the beginning of the session for general warm-ups. The pool will close 10 minutes before the beginning of the session. The teaching pool will be available during the meet for warm up and warm down. Coaches we will shut down the teaching pool if necessary for the safety of the swimmers. SAFETY: Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes. There will be no diving in the warm up and warm down areas at any time

7 1. No shaving is permitted at the competition site. 2. No glass containers are permitted within the facility. 3. Swimmers must be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up. The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-ups. 4. No camera cell phones are permitted in the locker rooms. RULES: USA Swimming Technical rules will govern all competition. Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum. TIME TRIALS: Time trials may be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $5.00 for individual events. SCORING: The meet will not be scored. AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top six finishers in each individual event. FOOD: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet. MISCELLANEOUS: The Burbank YMCA assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. Pets of any kind and smoking are not permitted within the facility.

8 PARKING: There is ample parking available in the surrounding streets. The YMCA parking lot will be open only to Y members for the duration of the meet.
