2 Role overview Make sure each team have nominated their players* Fill in match work sheet and Match Report Check that players' names and numbers match the score sheet Check that substitution benches are placed so you can see the full court, contact bench official manager, Janina, if you have any problems. *10 minutes before the games starts the team officials should have nominated their team. Nomination is done by filling in the shirt number of the 14 players that will participate in the game. No player can be nominated later than 10 minutes prior to the game. Work together as a team and make sure that one person always look at the court. Look after the substitutions on your side, if they are made incorrect and advantage is gained the official on that side should whistle to signal incorrect substitution.

3 Before the Game Make sure that team official A has nominated all players. Make ring around the player numbers who is starting the game. This is done on the match report. Give out the Time Out cards and Team Official cards for each team. (both time keeper and score keeper shared responsibility) Starting the Game Note who is starting with the ball on the match work sheet. Scoring Enter the score on the match work sheet together with the player number. Note any players warnings, suspensions or expulsions on the match work sheet Communicate with the time keeper, who scored to help out, it is important to work together. Note, if there is a suspension or warning, the referee will only start the game when you are ready, so don t stress. 7 m penalty throw Mark in the 7m given box, if they score mark in the 7m goal box and the normal column. Time outs Note which team the Time Out is allocated to. This is done on the match work sheet

4 Yellow card/warning Hold up the yellow card to indicate that you have seen the referee and allocate the warning in the relevant section on the match worksheet. Once three yellow cards have been issued to a team, warnings become 2 min suspensions. Let the referee know that they have reached three warnings, if the referee is unaware of it. Two minute suspension Note the player given the 2 min suspension on the match work sheet in the grid. If it is a team official indicate this rather than the player that is allocated to leave the court. Score keeper should help the time keeper to remove the suspension cards. Two minutes begins when the referees restart the game. The team may reenter the player once the time is up. They do not need your permission to re-enter. However, watch so they haven t entered too early. Note, in case of an exceptional misconduct the referees may punish a player with 4 min suspension instead of two. Red Card/Disqualification Players are disqualified once they get their third 2 min suspension or at the desecration of the referee. The player or official is excluded for the rest of the game. The team plays with one player short for the 2 min suspension, once it s finished they can replace that player. If it is an expulsion, the team plays with a player short for the remainder of the game. Hold up the red card to indicate that you have seen the referees action. Note the player or official given Disqualification or expulsion in the box of the team given the punishment. Make sure the player leaves the area, the player may continue watch the game from the spectator area, however the playing shirt is not allowed to be visible.

5 Halftime Fill out the half time score on the match work sheet top corner. Draw a line under the score on the match work sheet. And then continue with a different colored pen. Transfer the data from the work sheet to the match report. Supervise table and equipment, including the match ball. At the end of the half time, give the time out card to team official A to the team on your side. After the game Tally up the individual player goals, warnings and disqualifications and transfer them to the match report. Transfer the data from the work sheet to the match report Get the referees to go through the match report and allow them to sign. Sign off the match report and hand over to the Handball West Official NOTE, if any serious expulsion has happened it should be noted in the match report, the box, report follows, yes, should then be ticked.
