The football cheer team has been working hard over the past several weeks on new cheers, new stunts, and new dance routines. They are ready to show off their incredible talent and Cardinal spirit as the sea- son gets kicked. The cheer team is made up of one senior: Bethani Allison, four juniors: Madi Braunz, Brianna Baham, Brandy Goodwin, and Jenny Pierritz, and one sophomore: Ellie Sower. The team is coached by Melissa Jackson. Go Cards!!! Coach Jackson Varsity CrOss COUNtry Congratulations to the girls team on placing 4th at the Bridgman Invitational. They were led by Senior Kayla Dominguez who was runner up, followed by Brianna Martinez at 19th place, Hailey McNeess 28th, Paulina Villalon 30th, Heather Davis 32nd and Kristen Powell 46th. On the other side, the boys placed 7th. They were led by Freshman Judah Lake with a 16th place, followed by Kevin Bautista 23rd, Austin Bertuca 35th, Casey Dolfin 56th, Corey Donovan 57th and Braden Bertuca 61st. Great job to both teams! Coach Munoz soccer starts in BlOOmiNgdale Varsity Soccer has begun in Bloomingdale. Greetings from the soccer pitch. The team had a great week last week bringing in new players and really rounding out the team. We now have a full team of 22 players. We started this short week off with a practice and immediately came in to back to back games. We played against Bangor and came off with a 6-1 loss. We re getting better as we go and continue to practice and fix our weak spots. We have a game Thursday against Comstock. Next week come out and support us. We have a home game against Gobles on at 5 p.m. and then an away game at Marcellus. We look forward to seeing everyone. On September 4 the Cardinals faced Bangor, falling to the Vikings 1-6. Goalkeeper Osvaldo Degante saved 27 shots on goal while Ivan Bobadilla scored for the Cards. Both teams came out to a strong start with Bangor striking first. Bloomingdale matched it with a quick goal to make it 1-1. Bangor continued to fight on and scored two more in the first half and three more in the second half to finish the game at 6-1 against the first-year team of Bloomingdale and their very first home game. (269) Lakes & Country Realty (269) P.O. Box 38, Spring St., Bloomingdale P.O. Box 152, Bloomingdale, MI Cameron Wells (7 tackles), and Sam Siler (7 tackles). The Cardinals displayed mistakes that are common for a young team. I do not believe these are common young men; as a result, my expectations remain very high. They will continue to get better each week and compete at a higher level. Lou Holtz stated Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation is what you choose to do. Attitude determines how well you do it. Success can be boiled down to those three elements ability, motivation, and attitude. Ability is God given as He distributes gifts and talents specific to each of us. Motivation is both God given and free will as He gives dreams / desires of which we either choose to pursue or neglect. Attitude is 100% choice and ultimately determines how well we do. I believe my boys understand this so I am expecting them to choose to come out with a coachable attitude and get better. Please come out and support your Cardinal Football family next week as they travel to Lawton to play the Blue Devils. The young Cardinals showed flashes of bright spots; however, they were overshadowed by multiple mistakes as they lost to Marcellus Bloomingdale came out strong as they dominated the offensive line initially and moved the ball well. Unfortunately, mistakes led to stalled drives and touchdowns left on the field. The Cardinals went into half time trailing Marcellus Although the Cardinals were able to put one in the end zone, Marcellus scored four more times. Cameron Wells was one of the bright spots Thursday night as he scored on two very long runs (first was called back due to a penalty) and played tough on defense. Antonio Salinas also displayed some impressive running in the second half darting in and out of defenders. The offensive leaders were Cameron Wells (8 carries, 128 yards, 1 TD) and Antonio Salinas (10 carries, 55 yards, 1 two point conversion). The defensive leaders were David Mondujano (10 tackles), Caleb Wadley (7 tackles, 1 sack), To Access Cardinal Team Sports Schedules: SOUTHWESTERN MICHIGAN DUST CONTROL tough season OpeNer for young CardiNals Andy Peterson Hours: - Friday 9-7, Saturday 9-5, Closed Sunday Downtown Gobles E Milham Portage, MI

Although the score was one sided, the boys fought hard in the second half. The Tigers scored with minutes left in the game when the offensive line sprung Jacob Millward on a long TD run and capped the scoring drive with a two-point conversion on a pass from Zach Harris to Michael Crawford. It was only 2 weeks ago that the young Tigers went to Roscommon for Double Days. The lessons learned were of great benefit to them in the second half. They lived the teams 5 core values of, Team Work, Hard Work, Commitment, Accountability and Family. They have been told that its not how you react when things are go- ing great, its how you react when things are going bad. Where do you stand. The lessons they learned at double days were put on display in the second half and the young Tigers reacted with the heart of a Tiger. Next up for the Tigers will be the Hartford Indians.
