4 MONTHLY TRAP SHOOT What a beautiful day for shooting trap bright sun, very little wind. Temperature was a warn 55, a great combination for good targets. We had a visit from Santa s Elf Don - in his Santa s hat to keep score. We had a great turn out with 3 squads. It was so nice to see the Malpass family out to try their luck at trap and to fill the third squad. Jax and Jeb had a hard fight to take first place in the new shooter category. Nice going Jeb, he took Jax buy a score of 27 to 26 - great shooting. The top score for the day was Dan Gillespie with a 45. It was nice to see Dannie back after his long fight with the dentist and, you guessed it, he lost. 5 BUCCANEER RANGE REGULATOR GAZETTE January 1897 Headline: Dick Holliday Takes Wifey Deer Hunting It was Saturday morning as Dick Holliday, an avid hunter from Tombstone, woke up raring to go bag the first deer of the season. He walks down to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee, and to his surprise he finds his wife, Mrs. Dick, sitting there, fully dressed in camouflage. Dick asks her, "What are you up to?" Mrs. Dick smiles, "I'm going hunting with you!" Dick, though he had many reservations about this, reluctantly decides to take her along. Three hours later they arrive at a game preserve just outside of San Marcos, Texas. Dick sets his lovely wife safely up in the tree stand and tells her, "If you see a deer, take careful aim on it and I'll come running back as soon as I hear the shot." Dick walks away with a smile on his face knowing that Alice couldn't bag an elephant - much less a deer. Not 10 minutes pass when he is startled as he hears an array of gunshots. Quickly, Dick starts running back. As Dick gets closer to her stand, he hears Mrs. Dick screaming, Get the #$%^ away from my deer!" Confused and frightened, Dick races even faster towards his screaming wife. And again he hears her yell, "Get the #$%^ away from my deer!" followed by another volley of gunfire! Now within sight of where he had left his wife, Jake is surprised to see a Texas game warden with his hands high in the air. The game warden, obviously distraught, yelled, "Okay, lady! You can have your #$%^ deer, just let me get my saddle off it!" Cowboy/Cowgal Cat.
