Summer Sport runs over into Term 1 of 2014 and we have high hopes for our teams as they compete in their respective competitions. 3 CIS Athletics Our students had a wonderful day at the CIS Athletics Carnival on the last Wednesday of Term 3. We had some wonderful results including: Jack Wiese (16yrs) 1st in Triple Jump and Long Jump m (CIS record) Jessica Lee Keller (12yrs) finished 1st in High Jump m (CIS Record) Hannah Leechman (12yrs) came 2nd in Discus (28.67m) Natalie Otten (18yrs) finished 3rd in the 100m, 2nd in High Jump Tom Evans (12yrs) finished in 3rd place in the 12yrs 1500m Senior Boys Relay Team (Daniel Jones, Jack Wiese, Nick Tagg and Ben Thornton) - 3rd place It was so pleasing to see each of the students support each other and enjoy each other s success in the process.

5 CIS Netball Natalie Otten had a busy week representing CIS in the last week of Term 3. On the Wednesday she was at the Homebush competing in Athletics and this was following on from a couple of days earlier where she competed for CIS in Netball at All Schools. What a wonderful achievement to represent at CIS Level in two different sports. Natalie is pictured below in the back row on the far left.

6 Primary Sport Mrs Cornick Welcome back to the final term of There are two major sports events this term the HZSA Triathlon and the HZSA Yr3 & 4 Competition Day details of which are outlined below.. Preparations are well underway for both these competitions. Mrs Turville has offered to train the Girls basketball teams, the time being organized to fit into her schedule. The Boys NRLTag teams will train with Mrs Cornick. HZSA Below is a brief outline of the information for the day HILLS ZONE SPORTS ASSOCIATION TRIATHLON CARNIVAL WHEN: Friday 25 th October. CATEGORIES: Individuals or Teams WHAT: SWIM, BIKE, RUN WHERE: Penrith Regatta Centre Cost: $20 individuals $30 team ($10 per student) billed to account. Event Age Distance (swim, bike, Run) Primary Individual Triathlon Grade m, 5km, 2km Primary Teams Triathlon Grade m, 5km, 2km Students who do the swim leg must be to swim the distance in open water. BMX bikes are NOT allowed. Mountain, Hybrid and road bikes are acceptable and must have been serviced prior to the event for safety & road worthiness. All bikers must have an approved helmet. Students with bikes need to be able to transport themselves to the venue. Please check team and individual entries outlined at the end of the document. Permission notes already taken are due back NO LATER Wednesday 9 th October Week 1 Term 4. Any student/students wishing to enter can and must have permission note returned by Friday 11 th October HZSA Yr 3 & 4 Basketball & NRL Tag Competition day Girls Basketball & Boys NRLTAG- Wednesday 30 th October pm at the Hills Basketball Centre and Fred Caterson Reserve, Gilbert Rd, Castle Hill Rd. Transport will be bus from school at 8.00am. Selections have been completed team lists will be posted on sports notice board week 1 Term 4. Letters will be distributed to students during the week.
