1 LOCC Meeting Sunday, June, 14, 2015 The June meeting was held at the Sedalia Country Club in Sedalia, MO. What a beautiful venue. The facility was top notch, the meal most satisfactory, and the staff friendly and very helpful. A big thank you to Ellen & Larry Howery for taking care of all the arrangements! As mentioned in the Secretary s Report, Gary Cooper was the big winner of the 50/50 drawing. Milt and Jeannie Sheets guest from Oklahoma, Susan Fleming, drew the winning ticket. Gary thanks you Susan! The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 12th and will be held at Jake s Steak & Fish in Osage Beach, MO. Hope to see you there. It was great having LOCC members Joellen and Mark Sperfslage in town over the weekend. The Sperfslage s live in Bettendorf, IA and made the trip back for the meeting and Hot Summer Nights. Glad you could join us and Welcome! They brought with them their brand new 2015 Z06 Corvette Convertible. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS it s a beauty! 2 June 17, 2015 Pictures by Sue Matula & Peggy Sturn Ellen Hot Wheels Howery Mama Nature continued her weeping the morning of June 17th and precluded all but five of the 18 intrepid LOCC Ladies from driving their Vettes. As we gathered at the theater parking lot, the sun actually tried to shine, but we were happy to see only cloudy skies and light sprinkles on our way to and from H. Toad s. The 5 stunning ( All Weather ) Corvettes with their beautiful cargo (followed by the others and their beautiful cargo!) turned some heads as we cruised down 242 and HH to park in front of the restaurant. H. Toad s did a wonderful job saving the entire front lot for us, setting up two tables out on the covered balcony with a great view and providing excellent service. A presentation befitting the Chicks in Vettes occasion was made to Ellen Hot Wheels Howery for her stellar representation of the fairer LOCC members on the NCM Motorsports Track on June 4th. After a fitting tribute and round of applause, an almost genuine pink diamond trophy for #1 NCM Track Chick and photos commemorating her lone female drive were presented to Ellen. A very enjoyable luncheon...with great food, great company, and much laughter...concluded with vows to do it again when it s not raining! 3 Friday, June 12, 2015 A good dozen brave Corvettes found their way to Hot Summer Nights, and was it ever HOT! With the blackening sky getting darker and darker, it was decided to pack up and head out. A few members ended up at the Crab Shack for dinner and adult beverages. In spite of the rain, a good time was had by all. Mexicali Blues was held Thursday, June 4th, Eleven LOCC Members were there some with their Corvettes and some without. Mother Nature had been in a nasty mood most of the day so some Vettes were left home. A large group of LOCC Members were in Bowling Green during this time. After running into Don & Peggy Sturn s neighbor at Mexicali Blues, it was decided that we should all drive over to the Sturn home for a nightcap. So we did. Keep in mind, Don & Peggy are in Bowling Green. The group, once again, enjoyed each other s company while sitting on the Sturn deck, telling stories, and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. Thank you Don & Peggy. It was a GREAT party! July 2015 ~ Volume No. 15 ~ Issue No. 7 Congratulations to Al Saunders who won 1st Place in the Corvettes 81 to Present division at the Eldon Car Show, May 30, Another win for Al who took 2nd place at the Cole Camp Car Show on June 6th. Mack Probst took 3rd place at the same show. There was one Corvette class. Congratulations gentlemen for a job well done! Page 9

Bob is the LOCC s Webmaster and is responsible for keeping the Club s website up-to-date on club activities, car shows, events, etc. There is a ton of information to be found on this site.
