We hope to see you at the 2019 Utah Ram Sale October Rules and Terms of the Utah Ram Sale 1. Terms of the sale are cash. 2. All checks for the payment of rams in the sale are to be drawn payable to the Utah Ram Sale. This applies to any private sales made outside of the auction ring. 3. All White faced rams must be slick shorn after April 1st of the current year, and have less than 2 inches of wool. No trimming or spot shearing any white faced range rams. Any ram in violation will be sifted! 4. All black-faced rams must be slick shorn after August 1st of the current year, and have less than 1 inch of wool. No trimming or washing the black-faced range rams, any ram in violation will be sifted! 5. All rams must have a current negative ELISA test within the past 30 days, which matches the Scrapie ID ear tag number. The tag must remain in the ear. The consignor must supply a copy of the ELISA results for each pen entered. Each rams tag number will be verify before branding and given to the buyer. Health papers are required for out of state rams. 6. Only yearling and lambs of high quality will be permitted in the sale. Yearlings must weigh at least 225 pounds and lambs must weigh at least 165 pounds. All lambs must have lambs teeth. All entries subject to approval by the committee. 7. All rams are subject to an examination by a sifting committee prior to the sale. Any ram that needs his feet trimmed will be sifted. The management reserves the right to exclude any animals from the sale. Sifted rams are under the jurisdiction of the committee. 8. Bidding on pens or rams are based on a price-per head. Not on the pen as a whole 9. Ownership changes hands when rams are sold in the ring and legally paid for. 10. No consignor will be permitted more rams in his pens or on the grounds than has been accepted by the sale committee. No sifted rams are to be sold on the premises. 11. All rams going through the ring will be charged 8% commission. Consignors cannot bid on their own rams! Consignors have the option of placing a reserve bid on their rams. This must be done before the rams enter the ring. All reserve bid no sales, will be assessed an 8% commission charge on the reserve bid asking price. 12. The management assumes no financial liability for the safety of the entries or for the representatives regarding them. 13. All rams must be in their pens by 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the sale for sifting and branding. Consignors not complying with this rule, will not be allowed in the sale. 14. Membership dues of $40.00 for the Utah Registered Sheep Breeders Association, and $25.00 for the Utah Wool Growers Association will be deducted from the sales proceeds of each consignor unless notified in writing prior to the sale. 15. A limited number of single stud rams will be accepted, an entry fee of $50.00 per stud is required. This entry fee will not be returned but will be applied to the 8% commission charge. Registration papers on registered rams must be turned in prior to the branding. 16. If consignors want any ram announced as codon tested either; a copy of the test results or if the results are known by parentage a signed form guaranteeing the announced results must be turned in prior to branding. A list will be provided to the auctioneer and he will only announce codon tested rams that were documented prior to branding. 17. All rams must be representative of the breed they are entered. If not, the committee will reclassify or sift the rams from the sale. Page 26 Page 27
