18 On Track 2018 The Transitway between Tunney s Pasture and Blair Stations is fully closed to allow for the construction of the Confederation Line; Service adjustments for Confederation Line construction will remain in effect until the opening of the Confederation Line in 2018; and, Starting September 4, LeBreton Station will move one block east to Albert at Booth Street due to the closure of Preston Street north of Albert. 18
19 LeBreton Station is Moving Booth Street bridge over the future O-Train Confederation Line will open and Preston Street extension will close; LeBreton Station relocated from Albert/Preston to Albert/Booth; and, Bus stop arrangement will be similar to the current service, with buses to Gatineau at a new stop on Booth Street just north of Albert. 19
20 LeBreton Station is Moving 20
21 Fall Service Changes New Route 167 will serve the Blackstone community in Stittsville; Place d Orléans Park and Ride overflow lot is moving to a new area conveniently located in the covered parking section just north of the current area, courtesy of the Place d Orléans Shopping Centre; Improved service to Carling Campus on Moodie Drive to accommodate Phase 1 of the relocation of federal employees to this location; and, Seasonal schedule adjustments on many bus routes. 21
22 Service for Students School service is back for the school year: service started August 30 for French schools, and will start September 6 for English schools; Eligible university and college students can get their new U-Pass on campus at Carleton University, Saint Paul University, the University of Ottawa, and Algonquin College; and, Beginning in October, all students paper passes will be converted to the Presto card, and photo ID will no longer be required. 22

29 Manage Congestion Impacts / Adjust Commuting Habits Avoid traveling during peak periods Use alternative modes of transportation such as transit, cycling, walking Carpool Embrace technology in the workplace (e.g. Teleconference) Consider alternative work arrangements (e.g. Work from home) Allow extra travel time especially during morning commute Plan your trip ahead of time and be informed (travel apps (OttawaNav), Twitter, web links, media messaging, etc.) 29
30 Back to School Road Safety Watch for pedestrians and reduce your speed in school zones. Always stop for school buses when signals are flashing. Wear reflective gear to be visible at night to other road users. Ensure all bikes are fitted with a bell, light and reflective tape. Wear a helmet and protect yourself from head injuries. Just Wear It! Share the Road and ensure the safety of all road users. Reminder to all road users to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles. New legislation also requires the same for tow trucks. 30
31 New for Pedestrian Crossovers Introduced by MTO in January Crossovers are pedestrian crossings marked with specific signs and roadway markings. May also include flashing beacons. When pedestrians are present at a Crossover, all drivers, including cyclists, must stop and yield the right of way until pedestrians have completely crossed the road. Drivers and cyclists will be fined $150 - $500 with 3 demerit points for non compliance. 31
