2 RACE PREVIEW Ready for Rome... and trophies! The second half of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship begins in Rome, also the beginning of the four European races in season four. After the disappointments that were the three Latin American races, Mahindra Racing returns to Europe with as much positivity as possible, and then some. Still second in the Teams' championship and Drivers' championship as well (with Felix Rosenqvist), the team is rejuvenated and most of all ready to race again; we ve also added a few more tools, and have put a few more reliability and control measures in place as the season rolls on. The 2.86km track layout has been very well designed and is causing a lot of excitement for our team; and with it s undulation changes, high to slow speed sections, technical parts, underpass and tight hairpin, it comes across as the perfect arena for our electric gladiators to take centre stage. Closer to home, with a renewed vigour to pull himself back up the standings through the European leg, Nick Heidfeld is throwing himself into the fray in his precise and efficient manner to start bringing in the points once again! Still second in the championship but by a bigger margin than before, Rome yields every opportunity for Felix to plough through the field and get back to the top spot and continue his bid for the title! 3 FELIX ROSENQVIST Rome is another new track for us, and that s always exciting. I think for many it is considered a highlight of the year, as Italy clearly belongs at the very heart of motorsport. The track layout is very cool, with a lot of elevation changes which are always welcomed at street circuits. We had a streak of some tough races, but the potential is still the same as it was in the beginning of the year it s been good for everyone to come back home and to get our heads around the issues we ve had. I m aiming high in Rome and looking to have a solid weekend! 4 NICK HEIDFELD Rome starts the second half of the season and the European part of the Championship. I ve had only two smooth races this year so I hope this changes my fortunes. In the simulator the circuit seemed unique in how twisty and tight the last part is while still having a good flow. I am looking forward to racing in Italy again with such passionate motorsport fan. 5 TECHNICAL PREVIEW Vinit Patel, Chief Engineer As the European leg of the championship starts, it s good to be closer to home for obvious reasons, and going to Rome is really exciting. We re quite excited by how they ve designed this track, it s in a very unique part of the city with some wide boulevards, undulation changes, and even going under a highway and back up! We re looking forward to the challenge. We can t hide our disappointment at how our last 2 races turned out especially with reliability issues because this is normally our strength. We ve got some new things in place to make our car more robust for the rest of the season so we re being as positive as possible. We were able to score some points and recover from some poor qualifying positions after both our drivers made unfortunate errors in qualifying so that s not too bad. There is still a gap to be closed to Techeetah for both Felix and Mahindra. However, halfway through the season I m very proud to say that we re second in the championship and I m sure the rest of the team and everyone in the sport will see us as a contender for the outright win in 6 races time! The Rome track is quite long and has a few high speed corners and flat out sections and will definitely be cooler than the previous few races, but we re still evaluating our simulations to see how thermally limited we will be. We tend to have more full course yellows and safety cars at city circuits and that throws the thermal game back into contention. As you race with faster pace needing to coast less your thermally limit yourself more. It s not something that can be dismissed but everyone in the paddock will be well aware of this. The track surface itself is going to be very much like Santiago, low and changeable grip all over the place, surface features like camber in the crown of the road, and much less grip when compared to a place like Punta which was relatively high grip and smooth. It s going to be challenging, and hard on the car, but more in line with our standards. With the fabulous food and hospitality that beckons, the high to slow speed and technical sections, the underpass, the chicane near the pit entry and of course that tight hairpin, we feel that it s a track that s going to real suit our car, drivers, and appetites. Given that it should be a nice and wide track at most points, it should make for quite the entertaining race!

10 M4ELECTRO OVERVIEW Race drive power 180kW (10kW more than Season 3). Regen peak power 150kW. Race energy allowance 28kWh. Magneti Marelli MGU & inverter latest iteration of the motorsport supplier s top line derivation of hardware, designed from the ground up to Mahindra packaging and performance requirements. Gearbox Mahindra design and manufacture single ratio, with adjustable mechanical differential. Powertrain casing Mahindra design and manufacture of carbon fibre & metallic casing. Rear suspension Mahindra design and manufacture of steel & aluminium parts throughout. Motor & inverter cooling Mahindra designed entire system, using carbon fibre, aluminium, and plastics. Car + driver weight 880kg (regulation as season 3) with considerable ballast included. The only significant change in Technical requirement relative to Season 4 is an increase in race power from 170kW to 180kW therefore demanding more from all elements of the car across a similar season. Going into the new season with confidence is an outcome of the continued partnership with Magneti Marelli (among other top-flight suppliers), and equally importantly, the internal bolstering of technical expertise resources, across all technical areas. The M4Electro powertrain has been heavily revised in every key area relative to M3Electro and has undergone weight reductions in all major areas; most notably moving away from a multi-speed transmission.
