The EDC representatives included defending champion West Fargo, Fargo North, Fargo Shanley and Valley City. The tournament starts on Thursday, June 2. Region Tournament as an underdog and ended up qualifying for the state tournament as the No. 6 seed. This year the Blue Jays reached the title before falling to Dickinson. 2016: Dickinson 8 number of consecutive seasons that Minot Bishop Ryan has qualified for the state tournament. BISMARCK HIGH: The Demons (2016: Overall; 18-8 WDA) are heading back to the state tournament after a one-year absence. will be the No. 4 seed from the West Region and will meet defending state champion West Fargo on Thursday, June 2 in a quarterfinal in Jamestown., No. 4 seed posted a 2-1 record to earn a state tournament berth. It knocked off rival Century, 7-3, in a state qualifier. It was the Demons first win over the Patriots this season. opened the tournament with a 6-5 loss to No. 5 Minot Bishop Ryan and then defeated No. 8 Mandan, 10-0, in a loser-out game. Jaime Barta, Shelby Wittenberg, Against Bishop Ryan, the Demons scored four runs in the first inning but the Lions rallied for the upset win. Maddy Steckler homered. Baylee Leonard was 2-4. Against Century, the Demons jumped out early to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and then used another three-run inning later after the Patriots cut into lead. Baylee Leonard, Emma Steckler were named to the all-wda team. TURY: The Patriots (2016: 27-9 Overall; 21-5 WDA) season came to disappointing end at the West Region Tournament in Minot. No. 2 seeded Century were upended by No. 4 Bismarck High in a state qualifier, 7-3. The loss snapped the Patriots string of state tournament appearances. Century opened the tournament with a 10-4 victory over No. 7 Legacy. It lost 9-3 to No. 6 Jamestown in the semifinals. Against Legacy, led 3-0 before scoring five runs in the fourth inning en route to the win. Hannah Holtz was 2-4 with 3 runs scored. Maddy Zander was 2-3. Against Jamestown, the Patriots offense struggled and the Blue Jays raced out to a big lead. Miah Rauhauser homered and drove in two runs. Against, Century fell behind early and couldn t recover. The Pats trailed 4-0 before it responded with three runs. However, that s as close as they would get. The loss snapped Century s string of consecutive state tournament appearances at five years. Maya Chuppe and Hannah Holtz were named to the all-wda team. DICKINSON: The Midgets (2016: 31-3 Overall; 23-3 WDA) are the West Region s top seed at the Class A Tournament in Jamestown this week. Dickinson will face Fargo North, the East Region s fourth seed in a Thursday, June 2 quarterfinal., the Midgets won their second straight West Region Tournament title. The top seed defeated No. 6 Jamestown, 3-0, in the championship. Dickinson defeated Mandan 15-0 in the quarterfinals and then got a 3-2 comefrom-behind win over No. 4 Minot Bishop Ryan in the semifinals. Against Mandan, Dickinson broke open the game with 10 runs in the third inning. Julian Knight homered. S. Dobitz was 2-2 with 2 RBI. Paige Schweitzer was 3-3. Taylor Privratsky drove in two runs. M. Jahner threw a no-hitter. Against Bishop Ryan erased a 2-1 deficit with a run in the fifth and then one in the bottom of the seventh on a squeeze play. Jordie McNeilly was 2-4 and had the game-winning RBI. Katie Lafond also drove in a run. Against Jamestown, pitcher M. Jahner held the Blue Jays to just two hits. J. McNeilly was 2-3 with 2 RBI. T. ESTOWN: The Blue Jays (2016: Overall; WDA) are hosting this week s Class A Tournament and will be the No. 2 seed from the West Region. Jamestown will face neighboring Valley City, the No. 3 seed from the East Region, in a Thursday, June 2 quarterfinal. Jamestown swept VC earlier this season. Jamestown is making its second straight tournament appearance., Jamestown was runner-up at the West Region Tournament. The No. 6 seed fell 3-0 to No. 1 Dickinson in the championship. It was the program s first title appearance. The Jays reached final by upending No. 3 Minot in a quarterfinal, 6-5, and then knocking off No. 2 Century, 9-3, in the semifinals. Against Minot, Jamestown trailed 3-1 battled back to take regain the lead and hang on for the win. Olivia Nihill was 3-4 with a home run, two doubles and 4 RBI. Against Century, Jamestown scored two runs in the top of the first and stretch its lead to 6-0 before the Patriots got on the board. Jamestown hammered out 13 hits. Joey Kleinsasser was 3-4 with 2 RBI. Paige Christ was 3-5 with 2 RBI. Olivia Nihill and Sydney Soulis both had two hits and also drove in runs. The win was Jamestown s first over the Patriots this season. Against Dickinson, the Blue Jays could muster up two hits. Mariah Wick and Olivia Nihill were 1-3. Mariah Wick and Jadee Lange were named to the all-wda team. ACY: The Sabers (2016: Overall; WDA) ended their season at the West Region Tournament in Jamestown. Legacy opened with a 13-8 victory over Williston in the play-in game. It then lost to No. 2 Century, 10-4, in the quarterfinals. It fell to No. 3 Minot in loser-out play. Against Century, the Sabers scored three runs in the seventh, but it wasn t enough to overcome a nine-run deficit. Alexis Dressler doubled. Against Minot, the Sabers fell behind 3-0 after one inning before getting its lone run in the top of the third inning. Alexis Hoffman was 1-2. Megan Fields and Whitney Thomas were named to the all-wda team. DAN: The Braves (2016: 8-26 Overall; 6-20 WDA) season ended at the West Region Tournament last week in Minot. Mandan defeated No. 9 CHS (Belcourt), 15-6, in a play-in game. It then lost to top seed Dickinson, 15-0, in a quarterfinal. In lose-out play, the Braves fell 10-0 to Bismarck High. Against CHS, Mandan broke open the game with eight runs in the sixth inning. The squad pounded out 18 hits. Rylee Stotz was 3-5 with 2 RBI. Lizi Leingang was 2-4 and drove in two runs. Megan Zander was 2-4 with 2 RBI. Against Dickinson, the Braves were held hitless. Megan Zander did reach base on a walk. The Midgets scored 10 runs in the third inning. Kennedy Harris was named to the all-wda team. OT: The Majettes (2016: 26-9 Overall; 19-7 WDA) ended their season at the West Region Tournament last week. No. 3 seed Minot lost to rival No. 5 Minot Bishop Ryan, 4-1, in a state qualifier. The Majettes were bidding for their first-ever state tournament appearance. It had defeated the Lions three out of four times in the regular season. Minot was upended by No. 6 Jamestown, 6-5, in the quarterfinals. It rebounded with a 4-1 triumph over No. 7 Legacy in loser-out play. Against Jamestown, Minot led 3-1 through three innings before the Blue Jays rallied. M. Andrysiak doubled in two runs.against Legacy, the Majettes scored three times in the bottom of the first inning to take control. Hanna Andrysiak doubled in a run. Cassie Askvig picked up the pitching decision. Against Bishop Ryan, Minot scored in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 3-1, but couldn t get any closer. H. Andrysiak was 2-4 with an RBI. Cassie Askvig and Marisa Andrysiak each had hits. Hanna Andrysiak, Marisa Andrysiak and Cassie Askvig were named to the all-wda team. OT BISHOP RYAN: The Lions (2016: Overall; WDA) will be the No. 3 seed from the West Region at this week s Class A Tournament in Jamestown. Minot Bishop Ryan will face East Region Tournament runner-up, Fargo Shanley, in a quarterfinal on Thursday, June 2. Bishop Ryan has qualified for the state tournament every season since NDHSAA established the Class A division. Minot Bishop Ryan defeated rival and Minot, 4-1, in a state qualifier at last week s West Region Tournament. The Lions knocked off No. 4 Bismarck High in the quarterfinals, 6-5. It then lost to eventual champion Dickinson, 3-0, in the semifinals. Against, the Lions overcame a 4-1 deficit to get the win. S. Schmidt was 3-4 with a pair of doubles in 4 RBI. Hailee Jundt had two hits. Against Dickinson, the Lions took leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but couldn t eke out the win, falling in the bottom of the seventh. E. Garber was 2-3. S. Schmidt, Eden Kramer, Seal Rovig each had hits. Against Minot, H. Jundt doubled in two runs. S. Schmidt also drove in a run. McKinlee Harmon, doubled. Sheyenne Schmidt and Emma Garber were named to the all-wda team. CHS (BELCOURT): The Bravettes (2016: 5-30 Overall; 2-24 WDA) ended their season with a 15-6 loss to Mandan in a West Region play-in game in Minot. CHS lost four of five games this season to Mandan. CHS briefly took a 4-3 lead after four innings of play before Mandan rallied. LISTON: The Coyotes (2016: 2-28 Overall; 1-25 WDA) season ended with a 13-8 loss to No. 7 Legacy in a West Region play-in game in Minot. It was the fifth loss of the season to the Sabers. Williston was the No. 10 seed and bidding to make the W. Region quarterfinals for a second year in a row.

2 WEEKLY RELEASE - MAY 23 WDA teams begin the postseason this week with the West Region Tournament in Minot, beginning Thursday, May 26 with a pair of play-in games. Quarterfinals begin Friday with semifinals and loser-out play. State qualifiers and the championships are set for Saturday, May 28. WDA teams posted a reg. season record against EDC opponents this spring...dickinson is the defending West Region Tournament champion...minot is hosting the W. Region Tournament for the first time...williston was the only team that did not win a home game...dickinson, Minot Bishop Ryan, Century and Jamestown qualified for the state tournament a year ago...minot Bishop Ryan handed WDA champion Dickinson two of its three losses this season...century s five wins over EDC foes is a WDA-best. Mandan entered the final week of the season with just four wins, but earned three more in six games. 3 WEEKLY RELEASE - MAY 16 The regular season will wrap up this week and there is still plenty to decide in terms of seedings for the W. Region Tournament in Minot. The top six seeds will be automatically seeded into the tournament. Seeds seven thru 10 will participate in region play-in games. Dickinson became just the third WDA team to win a conf. title, joining Minot Bishop Ryan and Century...Century s 14-9 victory over West Fargo last week marked the first time the Packers lost to a N.D. opponent since Williston had eight games last week, including two doubleheaders with league champ Dickinson and one against second place Century...Dickinson went undefeated in out-of-pod play (10-0)...Mandan and Williston are still seeking a home win. Dickinson clinched its first WDA championship last week.
