Setting the Stage After a week off, the Ohio State softball team concludes the tournament schedule this weekend at the 2012 TSU Tiger Classic Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. The Buckeyes (11-8, 0-0 Big Ten) will play four games Friday-Sunday at Tiger Field. The Scarlet and Gray will face host-tennessee State at 7:15 p.m. CT Friday. On Saturday, Ohio State square off against Belmont at 11:15 a.m. CT and Mercer at 6:00 p.m. CT. The Buckeyes conclude the tournament at 9 a.m. CT against St. Bonaventure. SERIES RECORDS/Ohio State versus: Tennessee State: 1-0; last meeting in 2000; the Buckeyes defeated the Tigers, 13-0, March 7 at the Winthrop Invitational Belmont: first meeting between the Buckeyes and the Bruins Mercer: This will be the first meeting between Ohio State and Mercer St. Bonaventure: This will be the first meeting between the Buckeyes and Bonnies Senior captain Alicia Herron is tied for second on the OSU all-time career home run list with 41 home runs. FOLLOW US ON: quick hits Ohio State claimed its 1000th win in program history after claiming a 5-0 shutout vs. Georgetown in game one and a 12-3 victory in five innings vs. Longwood in game two March 2 at the 2012 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla. Senior captain Alicia Herron is tied for second on the OSU all-time career home run list with 41 home runs with former Buckeye Kristine Himes ( ). Herron is fourth in RBI (149) and tied for fifth in batting average (.370) and runs scored (137). Herron is sixth in the nation in slugging percentage (1.000) and seventh in triples (4) in In the Big Ten, the Buckeye shortstop is tied for first in home runs (6), tied for fifth in batting average (.420) and first in triples (4). Senior pitcher Mikayla Endicott is fourth overall in the Big Ten in ERA with a 1.86 in 17 appearances. As a team, Ohio State is in the Top 5 in several conference batting statistics, including first in triples (5), fourth in batting average (.290), on-base percentage (.382) and stolen bases (25) and fifth in slugging percentage (.431), runs scored (95) and RBI (85). Three Buckeyes are on hitting streaks heading to Nashville. Herron leads the team with a nine-game hit streak, junior Danielle LeBeau has a five-game streak and freshman Maddy McIntyre has a threegame hit streak. Herron has reached base safely in 14-consecutive games followed by LeBeau, who has reached base safely in 12-consecutive games. The Scarlet and Gray are returning to action after going 2-3 at the 2012 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla. Ohio State returns 13 letterwinners and five starters from its 2011 squad. Nine newcomers join the Buckeye roster for this season, seven of them freshmen.
