May 4, 2016 Page 3 of 17 FROM THE LOS ANGELES TIMES Baseball is an escape for Angels outfielder Shane Robinson Pedro Moura In late March, as his fellow fringe major leaguers were competing for opening day roster spots, Shane Robinson was without a team and without a plan. On March 30, after opting out of a deal with Cleveland, he signed a minor league deal with the Angels. On March 31, he started in left field at Dodger Stadium, his first time hitting in 13 days. In the final four days before the season, he gathered nine at-bats after batting only 21 times in three weeks of Cactus League play with the Indians. "It was kind of a whirlwind at the end of camp there," Robinson said. He had not hit for so long because he was in Boston, tending to his 1-year-old daughter, Harper, undergoing an emergency surgery, the 40th operation of her young life. She was born with esophageal atresia; her esophagus was not connected to her stomach. Three times last season as a backup outfielder for Minnesota, Robinson had to leave the team to be with his family. He said his wife, Jessica, has dealt with the "worst of it." "It's been difficult at times, but we've gotten through it," he said. "As a guy, you try to take as much as you can on your shoulders. It did wear on me a little bit, and my family, and things like that. It's tough with them being in Boston the entire season, and trying to stay focused on my job." He has come to look at his job as an escape. In his current role on the Angels, there is not much for him to do. The team intends for him to start in left field against left-handers while Craig Gentry is on the disabled list. He has not played since he was called up Sunday and scored three runs in a win that afternoon in Texas. But there is something else to think about, at least. "It kind of takes my mind off it," he said. Now, Robinson said, the hope is 19-month-old Harper is all right done with surgeries. She, her 4-year-old sister, Tinley, and Jessica are in Milwaukee this week and attending the Angels' games at Miller Park. "I haven't seen them in a while," Robinson said. "Both my daughters just gravitate toward me right away. It's like I'm doing something right with that." Short hops

May 4, 2016 Page 4 of 17 Daniel Nava played his second game on a rehab assignment for Class-A Inland Empire on Tuesday night, and his first game in left field. He served as the designated hitter Monday and walked and flied out. Left-hander C.J. Wilson could throw off a mound next week for the first time in two months. He cannot return to the majors before June. Angels Manager Mike Scioscia said he was relieved by the diagnosis of biceps tendinitis for left-hander Tyler Skaggs, who is trying to return from August 2014 Tommy John surgery. He will again be examined next week. Nick Tropeano gives up three home runs as the Angels fall to the Brewers, 5-4 Pedro Moura Chris Carter hit two long home runs and drove in three, Junior Guerra won his first career major league start, and the Milwaukee Brewers rallied from an early four-run deficit to beat the Angels, 5-4, on Tuesday night. With the Brewers trailing 4-0, Carter's two-run homer in the third caromed off the black batter's backdrop in center. His solo shot in a three-run fifth to deep left-center off starter Nick Tropeano (1-1) put Milwaukee up for good. Guerra (1-0), who was called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs this week, allowed seven hits and four runs in six innings. The Angels nearly spoiled Guerra's night after loading the bases in the seventh with two walks and a single and nobody out. Reliever Michael Blazek escaped the jam after Cliff Pennington popped out and Yunel Escobar bounced into a double play. It was one of three double plays by the Angels, who didn't score after a three-run third. Mike Trout highlighted the rally with a two-run single, giving him 16 RBIs in his last 12 games. Otherwise, Guerra benefited from timely defense. It was a game to remember for the 31-yearold journeyman right-hander, who pitched in Italy in 2014 before catching on with the White Sox organization last season. Jeremy Jeffress tossed a scoreless ninth for his seventh save. Jonathan Lucroy hit his first homer of the year, a two-run shot to left that tied the game at 4 one batter before Carter hit his second homer.

May 4, 2016 Page 5 of 17 FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER Double plays doom Angels in loss to Brewers By JEFF FLETCHER / STAFF WRITER MILWAUKEE The Angels hitters have done one thing more than any other team in the majors, and it s not a good thing. The Angels have grounded into a major league high 31 double plays, none more disheartening than one in the seventh inning of their 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. The Angels had loaded the bases with no outs, down by a run. Cliff Pennington hit a soft popup for the first out. Yunel Escobar then hit a routine grounder to shortstop, which the Brewers converted into an inning-ending double play. In the third inning, Albert Pujols had hit into an easy double play swinging at a 3-0 pitch. The Angels are on pace to ground into 186 double plays, which would break the major league record of 173. The Angels record is 150. To be fair, though, grounding into double plays is the side effect of an attribute that is actually good. The Angels have the fewest strikeouts in the majors. We put the ball in play, and that s much more of an asset than a detriment to what we need to do, Manager Mike Scioscia said. We re going to be fine offensively. It s worth noting that the team that holds the record for double plays the 1990 Boston Red Sox won the division and were a middle-of-the-pack team in runs. Scioscia said the only way to really avoid hitting into double plays is to put runners in motion, which is not always the best strategy. There are some that you are not going to be able to do too much about, Scioscia said. The Angels also lined into a double play, which is just bad luck. Andrelton Simmons hit a line drive right to first baseman Chris Carter, who then took a couple steps back to the bag to double off Kole Calhoun. Mostly, the Angels did hit the ball hard against the Brewers pitching, but it wasn t nearly as hard as the Brewers hit the ball in three key moments that cost Nick Tropeano. Tropeano gave up three homers each soaring more than 400 feet to account for all five of the Brewers runs.

May 4, 2016 Page 6 of 17 The command was a little off today, said Tropeano, who also issued five walks. Obviously the long ball hurt me. I left a couple pitches up. With a 4-0 lead in the third inning, Tropeano threw Carter a fastball at the knees and he blasted it 437 feet to straightaway center for a two-run homer. In the fifth, Tropeano hung a slider and Jonathan Lucroy smoked it over the left-field fence for a tying two-run homer. Two pitches later, Tropeano hung another slider over the middle of the plate and Carter drilled it out to left-center, putting the Brewers on top. As a result, Tropeano didn t see the sixth inning, which is a troubling trend for the Angels lately. Their starters have failed to finish the sixth in the past six games. We need to get a little continuity from our starters, Scioscia said. In the last days, our starters haven t gotten into the sixth very often, and that s important to us. Reliever Cam Bedrosian showing electric stuff this time up with Angels By JEFF FLETCHER / STAFF WRITER MILWAUKEE So far, Cam Bedrosian has added just what the Angels bullpen lacked. Before Bedrosian was recalled Friday, taking the roster spot of the injured Huston Street, the Angels relievers had the fewest strikeouts per nine innings in the majors. Bedrosian has struck out seven of the 12 batters he s faced since then, including five in a row Monday night. Last night was electric, Manager Mike Scioscia said. If he bottled that stuff and brought it into a game (regularly), he would be pitching in the back end of anybody s bullpen in baseball. It s amazing. Hopefully he s making strides to do that, because he has some kind of stuff. Bedrosian, 24, has always had a fastball that averaged 95 mph, with a slider and a changeup. His problems have been with command and control. In several major league stints in 2014 and 2015, he s failed to establish himself as a consistently productive reliever. This year is the last season he will have options, so it s a critical year for him to take the next step. This is the year I need to step up and start making some pitches, Bedrosian said.

May 4, 2016 Page 7 of 17 He impressed the Angels enough in spring training to make the opening day roster. He got sent down after just four games because the Angels had a short-term need for a long reliever. Down at Triple-A, Bedrosian said he relaxed and focused more on throwing strikes. He also has improved his breaking ball by not trying to be so perfect with it, which has allowed him to get it over for a strike. Bedrosian has thrown his first pitch for a strike 68.2 percent of the time this season, compared with 57.6 percent in his two previous big league seasons. I m feeling good, Bedrosian said. Just trying to do the same things, throw strikes and get ahead. It sounds easy, but that s the main thing. Angels Notes: Still too early to gauge Huston Street s recovery By JEFF FLETCHER / STAFF WRITER MILWAUKEE It s been nearly a week since Huston Street strained his left oblique, but the Angels still don t know how serious it is. It s calmed down but we re not going to know where he is until he starts to get into some more physical activities and some rotational things and starts to throw, Manager Mike Scioscia said. I m not sure when that s going to happen. The Angels had two pitchers suffer strained obliques in the past two years. Matt Shoemaker missed about three weeks in 2014 and Mike Morin missed about six weeks in LOST BALL? In the first inning on Tuesday night, Albert Pujols hit a ball off the right-field wall, but got thrown out second. Pujols appeared to slow down before he got to first, and he then didn't have time to get to second with what should have been a routine double. Scioscia said that Pujols thought right fielder Domingo Santana had caught the ball with a leap at the fence. "It's a weird visual you have here," Scioscia said. "You have a scoreboard that's bright. There's a sign. It's almost smoky in here. I think he thought the right fielder caught it." ALSO

May 4, 2016 Page 8 of 17 Andrew Heaney had his platelet-rich plasma injection in his sore left arm. Heaney will not be able to throw for at least four weeks, and more likely six or eight, and then he ll begin a gradual throwing program.... C.J. Wilson continues to progress in his throwing program in Arizona. Scioscia said he could be throwing off a mound next week. Wilson said last week that his schedule called for his first bullpen session to be next Monday.... Scioscia said he considered the news of Tyler Skaggs biceps tendinitis to be positive. Shoulder issues can be much more serious. Skaggs will be re-evaluated in a week. I think everyone was relieved when the report came in, Scioscia said. Hopefully this is just a little setback and he ll get back on that horse and get back where he needs to be to pitch up here with us. 9 May 4, 2016 Page 9 of 17 Angels sends Nick Tropeano to mound in Milwaukee By JEFF FLETCHER / STAFF WRITER MILWAUKEE -- Nick Tropeano, who has been the Angels' most consistent starter through the season's first month, will take the ball for a 5 p.m. PT game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday. Tropeano has a 2.11 ERA through four starts. He has not allowed more than two runs in any of his outings. The down side is that he also hasn't finished six innings in any of them. The Angels bullpen has pitched 16 innings over the last four games, so it could use a game in which Tropeano gets into the seventh, at least. Tropeano will catch one break, with Brewers slugger Ryan Braun sitting out the game with "general soreness." Brewers right-hander Junior Guerra will be making his first major league start. He pitched four innings in relief with the Chicago White Sox last season. He had a 4.63 ERA this season at Triple-A. The lineups... 10 May 4, 2016 Page 10 of 17 FROM ANGELS.COM Tropeano allows 3 homers; Angels rally fizzles By Adam McCalvy and Alden Gonzalez / MLB.com 12:23 AM ET MILWAUKEE -- Jonathan Lucroy and Chris Carter hit back-to-back home runs in the Brewers' goahead fifth inning to power a long-awaited victory for right-hander Junior Guerra, who gave new meaning to the term journeyman in a 5-4 win over the Angels at Miller Park on Tuesday night. Carter logged three RBIs in his second multi-homer game in three days, and the Brewers secured their first three-game winning streak of the season for the 31-year-old Guerra, whose long road to this moment included pitching stints in distant baseball outposts like Italy in Spain. Called up from the Minors to fill a hole in Milwaukee's slumping starting rotation, he fell into a four-run deficit after three innings but settled in to deliver three more scoreless frames before yielding to relievers Michael Blazek, Tyler Thornburg and Jeremy Jeffress. "We gave [Guerra] a little shower," said Carter, referring to the brew typically poured over a player following a big league first. "We had a little fun with him." Mike Trout made it 4-0 with a two-run single in the third inning before Milwaukee began slugging its way back. Carter put the Brewers on the board against Angels starter Nick Tropeano with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third. In the decisive fifth, Carter followed Lucroy's tying two-run homer with a go-ahead solo shot. MOMENTS THAT MATTERED Opportunity wasted: The Angels loaded the bases with none out against Blazek, trailing by a run and seemingly poised to re-take the lead. But Cliff Pennington hit a flair into the glove of second baseman Yadiel Rivera. The next batter, Escobar, grounded into an inning-ending double play. The Angels have grounded into a Major League-leading 31 double plays this season. "[Pitching coach Derek Johnson] came out there and said, 'You're going to get the job done. You're going to get out of it,'" Blazek said. "It's been like that this season a little bit. When runners get on, I kind of lock in." Said Angels manager Mike Scioscia: "You keep playing ball. You can look back and look at a lot of things in that game. It's a great position to be in. [Blazek] made a pitch and got out of it. That happens. We didn't lose this game in the batter's box tonight. We gave them a chance to set it up with some of their arms, their bullpen did a great job. Early on we had a 4-0 lead, and it evaporated very quickly."

May 4, 2016 Page 11 of 17 Back in the bigs: Merely stepping on the mound and throwing a 96-mph first pitch marked a milestone for Guerra, who made his first Major League start at 31 years, 108 days old. He was out of affiliated baseball from after a suspension for a failed performance-enhancing drugs test, pitching everywhere from Venezuela to Italy to Spain to Wichita, Kan., before making it to the Majors as a White Sox reliever last season. Guerra's "out" pitch is not the power fastball, but a split-fingered offspeed pitch he used to strike out Angels leadoff man Escobar. "It's a long road, but I just have to be thankful," Guerra said. "I have to thank God that I'm here. Now I have to get ready for my next start and get ready to do it again." Big man, big flies: Carter, nontendered by Houston last year after batting.199, is on a 56- homer pace after signing with the Brewers for $2.5 million. Most of those blasts have been of the no-doubt variety, including both on Tuesday night. Carter's third-inning home run left his bat at 111 mph and traveled 439 feet to center field, according to Statcast. His fifth-inning homer left the bat at 109 mph and traveled 431 feet to left, a high-towering shot thanks to a 37-degree launch angle. "I got a little bit more of that one than the first one," Carter said. "We've been getting the big hits in situations where we've needed them, and it's helping us win games." Changing it up: Tropeano essentially abandoned his fastball in the two plate appearances that decided the game. He attacked Lucroy with only sliders and changeups, leaving a 1-2 changeup up and watching it sail off the facing of the second deck in the fifth. To the next batter, Carter, who burned him with a first-pitch fastball in the third, Tropeano hung a 1-0 slider and watched the Brewers take the lead. Tropeano gave up a combined 1,272 feet on home runs, as projected by Statcast, and also issued five walks in five innings. "My command was a little off today, and obviously the long ball hurt me," Tropeano said. "I left a couple of pitches up. I felt pretty good with my fastball; my offspeed was just a little up in the zone." QUOTABLE "He lost the ball. It's tough. It's a weird visual you have here. You have a scoreboard, it's bright, and our sign. It's almost smokey in here. I think he thought the right fielder caught it." -- Scioscia, on Albert Pujols not running hard all the way on his first-inning RBI off the right-field fence and getting thrown out at second base SOUND SMART WITH YOUR FRIENDS In 2014, the year Carter hit a career-high 37 home runs for Houston, he hit his ninth home run on June 3 in his 51st game. This year, he hit No. 9 on May 3 in his 25th game. Carter, formerly of the A's and Astros, has 18 home runs in 61 career games against the Angels.

May 4, 2016 Page 12 of 17 The Angels snapped their 11-game homer streak on Tuesday, which was the longest in the Major Leagues this season. They homered just 13 times through their first 19 games and connected on 11 home runs in their previous seven contests. WHAT'S NEXT Angels: Lefty Hector Santiago takes the ball for Wednesday's series finale at Miller Park, with game time set for 10:40 a.m. PT. Santiago, who will face the Brewers for the first time in his career, has given up four earned runs or fewer in each of his first five starts this season. Brewers: Right-handed changeup specialist Zach Davies heads to the mound Wednesday at 12:40 p.m. CT, seeking his first win of the season. Opponents are hitting.411 (23-for-56) off Davies through his first three starts of 2016, none of them quality starts. Double-play ball strikes Angels again Halos lead Majors in dubious stat, but Scioscia downplays offense s role in loss By Alden Gonzalez / 12:49 AM ET MILWAUKEE -- Even after their starter, Nick Tropeano, gave up 1,272 feet worth of home runs at Miller Park on Tuesday night, the Angels found themselves with a premium opportunity to take control of their game against the last-place Brewers, with the bases loaded, none out and their deficit at only one run in the top of the seventh inning. Their arch nemesis, the double-play groundout, struck again, sending the Angels to a 5-4 defeat that gave them back-to-back losses to begin this three-game series. Andrelton Simmons worked a walk, Carlos Perez singled and C.J. Cron took first base on four consecutive balls against Brewers reliever Michael Blazek. But Cliff Pennington managed only a harmless flair, which settled into the glove of second baseman Yadiel Rivera. Leadoff hitter Yunel Escobar followed by seeing a 1-1 fastball down the middle and chopping it into the ground, producing a three-hopper that went for a tailor-made double play. It was the second double play the Angels hit into on Tuesday -- the first came with Albert Pujols swinging at a 3-0 pitch -- and the 31st time it happened this season, more than any other team in the Majors. The Angels have also struck out far fewer than any team in the game, and a high degree of contact tends to produce an inordinate amount of double plays. "They'll be part of it," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "But there's a way that you can mitigate some of that by putting some guys in motion. And sometimes you're not going to be able to. We put the ball in play. That's much more of an asset than a detriment to what we need to do. We're going to be fine offensively."

May 4, 2016 Page 13 of 17 Scioscia expressed more concern with his starting rotation, which seems to grow thinner by the day. The Angels' starting pitching depth sat at eight when Spring Training began, and is now down to four, with C.J. Wilson and Andrew Heaney on the disabled list, Tyler Skaggs shut down and Matt Shoemaker in Triple-A. Their current rotation, the one that excelled for a good portion of April, has gone six consecutive days without completing six innings. The last man to fall victim to that, Tropeano, gave up five runs and issued five walks in five innings. But it was three home runs that haunted him. The first came off the bat of Chris Carter, who jumped on a first-pitch, 91-mph fastball in the third and sent it a projected 439 feet to straightaway center field, according to Statcast, for a two-run shot. Tropeano said he was "just trying to get ahead." The second was produced by the Brewers' catcher, Jonathan Lucroy, who turned on a 1-2 changeup out over the plate in the fifth and hit it a projected 402 feet toward left-center for his first home run in 83 at-bats this season. "I should've buried it," Tropeano said of his changeup. "I kind of left it up. You're going to get hurt if you're going to leave it up." Carter came next, got a 1-0 slider down the middle and sent a towering shot 431 feet from home plate and up to 152 feet in the air to plate the winning run. It was Carter's 18th home run in 61 career games against the Angels. "I tried to throw it for a strike," Tropeano said. "I probably should've been more aggressive with it." Scioscia dismissed the seventh-inning double-play ball as the biggest factor in his team's 15th loss this season. He said the Angels "didn't lose the game in the batter's box" and expressed continued confidence in his lineup, which has provided better production in the last week or so. "Offensively," Scioscia said, "we're going to continue to grow as a team and we're going to be fine. We just need to get a little bit more continuity out of our starters."

May 4, 2016 Page 14 of 17 Game an escape as Robinson cares for sick daughter By Alden Gonzalez / May 3 rd, 2016 MILWAUKEE -- Shane Robinson was obtained by the Angels on March 31, hours before the start of the three-game, exhibition Freeway Series against the cross-town-rival Dodgers. When he took the field that Thursday, the 31-year-old outfielder had gone 13 days without seeing any live pitching. "It was kind of nerve-wracking," Robinson said. "It's a tough spot to be put in." Robinson opted out of his Minor League deal with the Indians a couple of days earlier, because they had too many outfielders for him to even see the field in Spring Training. When Robinson joined the Angels, he had just returned from Boston, after the latest -- and, he hopes, last -- of a string of surgical procedures undergone by his young daughter, Harper, who was born with esophageal atresia, a condition where the esophagus isn't properly connected to the stomach. "It's kind of a rollercoaster," Robinson said. "Things have worked out, and then we've had big setbacks. It's kind of been back and forth, pretty much her whole life." Harper, now 19 months old, has already undergone 40 surgeries, a lot of them minor, but several of them major. Many involve running a scope down her throat to dilate her esophagus. Harper was born with the condition in 2014, the last of Robinson's five seasons with the Cardinals. Robinson's wife, Jessica, older daughter, Tinley, who's now 4 years old, and Harper spent most of last year in Boston, while Robinson played for the Twins. Harper went long periods in a medically induced coma that year, and Robinson left the team on three separate occasions to be by her side. Baseball has become his escape. "It kind of takes my mind off it," said Robinson, a speedy, defensive-minded outfielder who has batted.239/.304/.314 in 352 Major League games. "My wife is the one dealing with most of it. It's tough. She's been through the worst of it." Robinson does his best to pick up the slack over the offseason. His latest trip to Boston was prompted by his daughter undergoing emergency surgery because her esophagus closed too tightly. Robinson said doctors "feel really good about it," but Harper must continue to be monitored closely. Robinson was called up on Sunday to take the roster spot of fellow right-handed-hitting outfielder Craig Gentry, who's on the disabled list with a back injury. Robinson only starts against lefties, so he doesn't figure to get much playing time in this series against the Brewers.

May 4, 2016 Page 15 of 17 But his wife and two daughters are in the stands at Miller Park. "I haven't seen them in a while," Robinson said. "Both my daughters just gravitate toward me right away. It's like I'm doing something right with that. So it's been good. It's been good to see them. Hopefully we'll keep the positive news with things." Angels ask rising Santiago to solve Brewers By Alden Gonzalez / MLB.com May 3rd, 2016 Angels left-hander Hector Santiago takes the ball against Brewers righty Zach Davies in Wednesday's series finale at Miller Park, a matchup of two starting pitchers venturing in opposite directions. Santiago (2-1, 3.34 ERA) has more life on his fastball and has been as pitch-efficient and aggressive as ever, giving up four runs or fewer in each of his first five starts and completing at least six innings on four occasions. Davies (0-3, 8.78 ERA) gave up four runs on six hits and three walks to the Marlins on Friday and has yet to register a quality start. Opponents are batting.411 off Davies, who was called up from Triple-A in the middle of April. Davies and Santiago will be facing their opponents for the first time. Things to know Brewers star Ryan Braun took Tuesday off and is expected to return to the lineup on Wednesday. The off-day was part of a maintenance plan designed to maximize Braun's production in his first season following back surgery. He batted.372/.443/.605 through his first 21 games. The Angels entered Tuesday with a record in Interleague Play. The Brewers were Geovany Soto figures to get the start behind the plate for the Angels. Soto has batted.343/.395/.629 in his first 11 games and now appears to be getting more playing time than Carlos Perez, who began the year as the starter. A longtime Cub, Soto has batted.232/.323/.429 in his career at Miller Park.

May 4, 2016 Page 16 of 17 FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Chris Carter goes deep twice, Brewers beat Angels 5-4 MILWAUKEE -- Junior Guerra was going to call his wife back home in Venezuela before checking into his hotel room on Tuesday night. There was so much good news to share after the Milwaukee Brewers' right-hander won his first game in the majors in his first big league start. Chris Carter hit two long home runs and drove in three, and Jonathan Lucroy also homered to back Guerra in the 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. "A long road, but you've just got to be thankful," the 31-year-old Guerra said through an interpreter. "Now I'm here, and I've got to get ready for my next start and be ready to come back and do it again." Two years removed from playing professional ball in Italy, Guerra is a major league starter. Called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs this week, Guerra (1-0) allowed seven hits and four runs in six innings. It was a solid enough outing to ease the burden on the heavily used Brewers bullpen. "We haven't had many of these games where the bullpen could go but tonight was the night," manager Craig Counsell said. Mike Trout highlighted the rally with a two-run single, giving him 16 RBI in his last 12 games. "I think offensively we'll continue to grow as a team, and we're going to be fine. We just need to get a little continuity out of our starters," manager Mike Scioscia said. Nick Tropeano (1-1) allowed five runs and five hits through five innings, plus five walks. He allowed all three Brewers homers. "Command was a little off today. Obviously, the long ball hurt me. I left a couple of pitches up," Tropeano said. GOING DEEP

May 4, 2016 Page 17 of 17 With the Brewers trailing 4-0, Carter's two-run homer in the third caromed off the black batter's backdrop in center. His solo shot in a three-run fifth to deep left-center off starter Nick Tropeano (1-1) put Milwaukee up for good. Carter also had a two-homer game on Sunday against the Marlins. He said his early success was due to "just hitting the ball wherever it's pitched instead of kind of being more of a pull hitter." Jeremy Jeffress tossed a scoreless ninth for his seventh save. Lucroy hit his first homer of the year, a two-run shot to left that tied the game at 4 one batter before Carter hit his second homer. MORE JUNIOR Guerra's circuitous route through professional baseball began in 2009, when he was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for violating the minor league drug policy. After being released by the New York Mets organization, Guerra went on to pitch in an independent league and the Mexican League. He also pitched in Italy in 2014 before catching on with the White Sox organization last season, when he pitched three games in relief in the big leagues. Guerra was claimed off waivers by the Brewers last October. TRAINER'S ROOM Angels: Starting pitcher C.J. Wilson (left shoulder inflammation) could start throwing off a mound soon. "A lot of it is contingent on how he feels, but he is getting out there pretty aggressive long toss," Scioscia said. The left-hander is on the 60-day disabled list. Brewers: OF Ryan Braun got the night off after leaving Monday's game after the seventh with what Counsell called "general soreness." Counsell said Tuesday would have been an off day for Braun anyway.... 2B Scooter Gennett (right oblique) is no longer in pain and "moving forward pretty aggressively" with his rehab, Counsell said. The team could know in a couple days whether Gennett will need a minor league stint. UP NEXT Angels: LHP Hector Santiago (2-1) is making his first career start against Milwaukee on Wednesday. He is 1-4 with a 3.71 ERA in 17 career interleague games, including 10 starts. Brewers: RHP Zach Davies (0-3) will try to notch his first quality start of the year when the Brewers wrap up their three-game set with Los Angeles. Opponents are hitting.411 off the right-hander.
