We hope this information packet will answer some of the questions you may have about NYO Fastpitch. 4 NYO KIT KATS SPRING 2015 RULES Games are sixty minutes in length No bunting or stealing Batting each batter receives 4 pitchers from her coach (plus additional pitches up to 6, if the batter fouls off the 4 th and 5 th pitches); thereafter, theplayerhitsoffateeuntiltheballisputinplay Defense play will stop when the ball is thrown back to the pitcher s circle, regardless of whether the pitcher catches the throw Participation Rules: Allplayersbat,andeachteambats their entire rosterfortheir half inning Allplayersmayplayinthefield,withnomorethansixintheinfield atonetime Defensiveplayersmayonlyplaythesamepositiononceinagame Home team brings 2 game balls to each game and is responsible for a parent/coach to serve as the field umpire Safety all players must wear either a facemask or a mouthpiece. Players at the pitcher and first base positions must wear facemasks

5 NYO ROOKIES SPRING 2015 RULES Nonewinningbeginsafteranhourandfifveminutes No bunting or stealing Batting for the first 6 games, each batter may receive up to 6 pitches (or moreifthe6 th pitchisfouledoff);beginningwithgame7,abatterwillbeout on the 3 rd strike or the 6 th pitch (unless fouled off, in which case the batter may receive another pitch) Defense forthefirst6games, playwillstopwhentheballis thrownbackto the pitcher s circle, regardless of whether the pitcher catches the throw; beginningwithgame7,playwillstopwhenthepitcherhascontroloftheball in the pitcher s circle Limited Run Innings a maximum of 5 runs or 3 outs shall constitute an offensive inning for each inning of the game Participation Rules: All players bat Up to 10 players may play in the field, with no more than six in the infield at one time Defensiveplayersmayonlyplaythesamepositiontwiceinagame Home team brings 2 game balls to each game and is responsible for a parent/coachtoserveasthefieldumpire(ifayouthumpireisnotpresent) Safety all players must wear either a facemask or a mouthpiece. Players at the pitcher and first base positions must wear facemasks

6 NYO MINORS SPRING 2015 RULES No new inning begins after an hour and twenty-five minutes Pitching for the first 6 games of the year, no walks are allowed, i.e. after ball four, a coach/pitcher shall inherit the existing strike count and pitch to the batter. The coach/pitcher may throw a maximum of 3 pitches, unless the batter fouls off the final pitch, in which case she may receive another pitch. Beginning with game7ofthe regularseason,the nowalks ruleis onlyineffect forinnings2and3 Run Limits 3-run maximum per inning for the first three innings; 8-run maximum per inning thereafter Stealing one base at a time (to second and third); no stealing home(and no stealing when coach is pitching) Participation Rules: Pitchers - no more than 2 of the first 4 innings; 9-year old mustpitch1inningpergame 10 players in the field; every player bats Safety allplayersmustweareitherafacemaskoramouthpiece; all pitchers must wear facemasks

7 NYO MAJORS SPRING 2015 RULES No new inning begins after an hour and twenty-five minutes Run Limits 3-run maximum per inning for the first three innings; 8-run maximum per inning thereafter Home team brings 2 game balls to each game and provides a scorekeeper Participation Rules: Pitchers-nomorethan2ofthefirst4innings 10 players in the field; every player bats Aplayermaynotsitoutmorethan1inninginarow Safety all players must wear either a facemask or a mouthpiece; all pitchers must wear facemasks

8 NYO SENIORS SPRING 2015 RULES No new inning begins after an hour and twenty-five minutes Run Limits 3-run maximum per inning for the first three innings; 8-run maximum per inning thereafter Home team brings 2 game balls to each game and provides a scorekeeper Participation Rules: 9playersinthefield;everyplayerbats A player may not sit out more than 1 inning in a row Safety all players must wear either a facemask or a mouthpiece; all pitchers must wear facemasks

23 NYO PARK INFORMATION WEATHER In case of questionable weather, please check the NYO website, for updates on the conditions of the fields. In addition, your coaches will receive regular updates regarding any game or practice cancellations and any game rescheduling. NYO uses a lightning detection system. If the lightning alarm sounds (one long blast), players, coaches and parents should goto their cars untilfurthernotice. If thethreat passes and it is safeto resume play,the system will give an all clear sound(represented by three short blasts). PETS As much as we love our dogs, NYO has a no dogs policy at the softball fields. Dogs are welcomeuponthewalking/runningpathalongw.wieucaandlakeforrest,butnotdownatthe fields or in the areas surrounding the fields(including the walkways). CONCESSIONS NYO is fortunate to have one of the best concession stands anywhere. The American Roadhouse concessionswillbeopenongamedaysandnights. Seethecompletemenubelow!
