And I remember my dad dropped them off to play, and I was too young that I couldn t stay for the practice. My dad did construction so I had to go with him and watch him work. One day I got tired of it. I was crying because I wanted to be on the baseball field with my brothers. That s how I started. I played in the backyard all the time with my two brothers and my friend. I was 5 or 6 years old at the time. Jansen s middle name is Geronimo His home country Curacao is a Dutch island off the coast of Venezuela. He speaks English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamentu. He began his professional baseball career as a catcher, but converted to pitcher in He made his Major League debut on July 24, Jansen is one of the greatest relief pitchers in Dodgers history.
