17 SÁRVÁR URBAN STRUCTURE Why people come to Sárvár: to work (daily) to study (daily) health care (hospital) government office tourism: daily (spa, castle) tourism: overnight (wellness, cure) Distribution of the population, business and destinations - cca. 85% in the core city There is no information on modal split of Sárvár! 18 SÁRVÁR: MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC 1 Passenger cars are registered in the core city / FUA (per 1000 inhabitants): 362/385: over the national average but below the EU average, it is still increasing Main characteristic of the traffic of Sárvár There are huge number of daily commuters by personal car to the spa and hotels and the industrial sites from outside of Sárvár FUA Network of roads in the core city and FUA networked Two radial roads meet in the city center There is a circular around the Spa Resort Area There is a half ring around Sárvár TAKING COOPERATION FORWARD 18
19 SÁRVÁR: MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC 2 The geographic barrier embedded in the road network? The castle and the Arboretum is in the city center. However, high weight lorries are cannot go through the main axes of the city and low emission zones were introduced (30 km/h speed limit) The pinch points of the road network In hot summer days around the spa because of the capacity of parking spaces Traffic-calming areas Accross the main axes of the city and around the Spa Resort Area Situation of traffic accidents There is a low accident rate in and around Sárvár. There more accident on the ring of Sárvár because of the miss used speed of cars and trucks. TAKING COOPERATION FORWARD 19
20 SÁRVÁR: BICYCLE TRAFFIC How is the topography of the city? Sárvár FUA is a flat area How long is the and lanes in the city in total? The bicycle pathes are very fragmented There are few possibilities to reach the city from outside Is there any bike-sharing scheme available in the city / FUA? The improvement of the current sustainable modes in Sárvár FUA 2nd meeting: 1. How to improve AP with current laws/regulations about low-carbon mobility especially with regional and FUA level 2. Harmonization with Sárvár SECAP (adopted by Sárvár Assembly on 30th June, 2017) TAKING COOPERATION FORWARD 25
26 CRITICALITIES - PROBLEMS WITH METHODOLOGY APPLICATION Few participants could join, however the attendees are relevant for the whole FUA The events were held in Sárvár, centre of FUA, maybe the next can be held in another municipality Not easy to organize> busy stakeholders> difficult to orgnaize one meeting that is appropriate for many people TAKING COOPERATION FORWARD 26
