1 FDOT Broward County Traffic Impact Report November 24 through December 1, 2017 FORT LAUDERDALE -- Construction and maintenance-related lane closures on state highways in Broward County are expected during the week of November 24 through December 1. In observance of Thanksgiving holiday, most lane closures will be suspended Wednesday, November 22 through Sunday, November 26. Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the county. For updated lane closure information, please refer to Follow us on INTERSTATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS 1. I-95 from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale Three northbound lanes of I-95 will be closed Monday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. Three southbound lanes of I-95 will be closed Monday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane closing at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. All lanes will be open by 5:30 a.m. The I-95 southbound entrance and exit ramps at Oakland Park Blvd Boulevard will be closed Monday through Thursday night between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via Powerline Road, Sunrise Boulevard and I-95. There will be daily and nightly shoulder and ramp closures, as needed, along southbound I-95 between Oakland Park Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard. Advance Notice: The I-95 southbound entrance ramps from Commercial Boulevard will be closed Sunday night, December 3 through Thursday night, December 7 between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via Powerline Road, Oakland Park Boulevard and I-95. Description: This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll lanes from south of Broward Boulevard to north of Commercial Boulevard in Broward County. The scope of work includes adding a lane and converting the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to create two express

2 lanes in each direction. Other work includes: installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and tolling equipment; widening bridges; and installing noise barrier walls at locations along I- 95 Southbound between Broward Boulevard and NW 6 th Street, and along I-95 Northbound between Powerline Road and Commercial Boulevard. Completion is expected in spring I-95 from north of Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale to south of SW 10 th Street in Deerfield Beach Three northbound lanes of I-95 between Commercial Boulevard and SW 10 th Street will be closed Sunday through Thursday night between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The first lane will close at 10:30 p.m., the second lane at 11:30 p.m. and the third lane at 12:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. *On Sunday night, November 26, closures will begin at midnight due to Thanksgiving holiday. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound Atlantic Boulevard is completely closed through February Traffic is detoured to a temporary ramp just south of the closed ramp. The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from westbound Cypress Creek Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via North Dixie Highway and Commercial Boulevard. The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Atlantic Boulevard will be closed as needed Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Copans Road. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to eastbound Copans Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via Atlantic Boulevard and I-95. The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound Copans Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 and East Atlantic Boulevard. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound Copans Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via eastbound Copans Road, I-95, and Sample Road. The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Copans Road will be closed Sunday through Thursday between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via N. Andrews Avenue, I-95, Sample Road.

3 One lane in each direction of Martin Luther King Boulevard from NW 12 th Avenue to NW 10 th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. One lane in each direction of Sample Road from Military Trail to N. Dixie Highway will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. One lane in each direction of Atlantic Boulevard from Andrews Avenue to N. Dixie Highway will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. All lanes in both directions of Atlantic Boulevard at I-95 will be closed, as needed, Sunday night through Thursday night between 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. through November for bridge work. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound, Cypress Creek Road, and I-95 northbound. Westbound traffic will be detoured via I-95 northbound, Copans Road, and I-95 southbound. All lanes in both directions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at I-95 will be closed, as needed, Sunday night through Thursday night between 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. through November for bridge work. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via NW 16th Avenue, N. Andrews Avenue, Atlantic Boulevard and NW 6 th Avenue. Westbound traffic will be detoured via NW 6 th Avenue, Atlantic Boulevard, N. Andrews Avenue and NW 16th Avenue. All lanes in both directions of Sample Road at I-95 will be closed, as needed, Sunday night through Thursday night between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. through November for bridge work. Eastbound traffic will detour via I-95 and Copans Road. Westbound traffic will detour via I-95 and SW 10 th Street. Completion is expected in spring I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street The I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10 th Street will be fully closed as needed Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through December. Motorists can detour via Hillsboro Boulevard. The outside lanes of I-95 southbound from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10 th Street will be closed Monday through Thursday night with the first lane

4 closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if necessary, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m. through December. Two westbound lanes of SW 10 th Street at I-95 will be closed Monday through Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through December. The sidewalk on the north side of SW 10 th Street between SW 12 th Avenue and SW Natura Boulevard is closed through December. Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the south sidewalk. Description: Construction on this 1.5-mile project began Monday, January 26, Work consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10 th Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp to SW 10 th Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10 th Street, widening of westbound SW 10 th Street to add an acceleration lane, utility relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs, signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. This is the first of five interchange improvement projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties. 6 o Two lanes in either direction of Sheridan Street at I-75 may be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. o The I-75 northbound exit ramp to westbound Sheridan Street (Exit 11B) may be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11A), continue east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road and make a U-turn to go west. o The I-75 southbound exit ramp to eastbound Sheridan Street (Exit 11) may be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at westbound Sheridan Street, continue west on Sheridan Street to SW 162 nd Avenue and make a U-turn to go east. o The I-75 northbound exit ramp to westbound Griffin Road (Exit 13B) may be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists will be detoured to exit at Sheridan Street East (Exit 11), go east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road and north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road. o The I-75 northbound entrance ramp from Sheridan Street may be closed Sunday, November 26 through Thursday, November 30 between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists traveling eastbound on Sheridan Street will be detoured east on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road, north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road and west on Griffin Road to the I-75 northbound entrance ramp. Motorists traveling westbound on Sheridan Street will be detoured west on Sheridan Street to Flamingo Road, north on Flamingo Road to Griffin Road and west on Griffin Road to the I-75 northbound entrance ramp. Segment E (North of Griffin Road to I-595) o Two lanes in each direction of I-75 from South Post Road to Indian Trace will be closed daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Northbound Lane Balancing Project (Indian Trace to I-595) o All lanes are open through Friday, December 1. Description: This 15-mile project will add four tolled managed lanes in the I-75 median from NW 170 th Street in northern Miami-Dade County to I-595 in Broward County. The work will be completed in four segments to minimize the impact to the public. This project includes entrance and exit access points to the express lanes; a bridge with a direct connection to 595 Express; integrated Intelligent Transportation System and tolling components; noise barrier walls at various locations and new signage, lighting, drainage and landscaping improvements. A1A Improvements Project from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue in Fort Lauderdale One lane in each direction of A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue may be closed intermittently at any time Sunday night through Friday morning for resurfacing and final pavement markings. One lane in each direction of A1A from Oakland Park Boulevard to Flamingo Avenue may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for lighting restoration. Description: Project improvements include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway within the project limits; upgrading sidewalks and ramps to meet ADA requirements; repairing, adjusting, and replacing drainage structures throughout the project limits; upgrading the following existing intersections to mast arm signals: 34th Street, mid-block between 36th and 40th Street, and at 40th Street; upgrading all existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers; upgrading signs and pavement markings throughout the project limits, including adding a 1.5 foot striped buffer to separate the four foot wide bike lanes from the outside vehicle travel lane; upgrading existing lighting along the corridor to lighting with a variable intensity function that can be accessed remotely in order to cause minimal disruption to sea turtles during their nesting season; adding elevated roadway lighting and lower level lighting to illuminate the sidewalk, and adding a business access drive aisle along the east side of road between NE 34th and NE 36th Street. Completion in early Broward Boulevard Improvements and Bridge Replacement Project in Fort Lauderdale Westbound traffic is shifted slightly north and will use the three-lane temporary bridge for the duration of construction. Eastbound traffic is shifted slightly north to the newly-constructed north side of the bridge through fall 2017 while crews construct the south side of the bridge. Up to two lanes in each direction of Broward Boulevard from US 1 to NW 18 th Avenue will be closed nightly between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage improvements, roadway widening, curb and gutter installation and sidewalk construction. The closures will be limited to a maximum of 500 feet at a time. The sidewalk along the north side of Broward Boulevard from NW 18 th Avenue to NW 15 th Avenue is closed. Detour signs are in place to guide pedestrians. The sidewalk along the north side of Broward Boulevard from US 1 to NW 14 th Avenue is closed for utility improvements. Signs are in place to direct pedestrians to the south sidewalk as needed. The outside lane in each direction of the cross streets on either side of Broward Boulevard from NW 3rd Avenue / Nugent Avenue to NW 11th

8 Avenue may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the installation of traffic signal foundations on Broward Boulevard. Crews will only work at one cross street at a time. Access between SW 15th Terrace and Broward Boulevard is closed through late January Detour signs are in place to guide motorists to SW 14th Avenue to access SW 15th Terrace. All eastbound lanes of Broward Boulevard from NW 15 th Avenue to U.S. 1 will be shifted north and lanes will be narrowed Thursday night, November 30 beginning at 9:30 p.m. for drainage work on the south side of the road through summer Description: Project improvements include replacing the bridge over the North Fork of the New River, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements, upgrading signs and pavement markings, relocating bus shelters, adding roadway lighting, installing drainage structures, upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, reconstructing sidewalks, and widening roadway to add bike lanes in each direction. Completion in summer Hillsboro Boulevard Improvements Project from Military Trail to US 1 in Deerfield Beach One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 may be closed for sidewalk, drainage, median widening and signal improvements and sign installation through December. Up to two lanes in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from Military Trail to US 1 will be closed nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. through late January for resurfacing, sidewalk improvements and other construction work. The outside lane of westbound Hillsboro Boulevard from NW 1 st Avenue Military Trail will be closed through late January for widening, signal upgrades and sidewalk improvements. Description: Project improvements include improving the off-ramp from northbound I-95 to eastbound Hillsboro Boulevard including adding a new signalized intersection and adding second lane to increase capacity; relocating and upgrading drainage structures; upgrading crosswalk ramps to meet ADA requirements; constructing new stamped asphalt crosswalks from east of Natura Boulevard to US 1; upgrading existing pedestrian signals to countdown timers; upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms; installing new decorative lighting; constructing new medians east of SE 2 Avenue; and removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway. In addition, signs and pavement markings will be upgraded to reflect the new roadway configuration: from Military Trail to Dixie Highway, there will be three 11-foot travel lanes in each direction; from NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1, there will be two 11-foot lanes in each direction. Also, bike lanes or sharrows (symbols to designate the outside travel lane will be shared by vehicles and bicycles) will be added as follows: from Military Trail to NW/SW 2 Terrace, there will be a 4-foot-wide bike lane; from NW / SW 2 Terrace to NE / SE 2 Avenue, sharrows in the outside travel lane will designate a shared lane; from NE / SE 2 Avenue to US 1, there will be a

Completion in early Broward Mobility Project Traffic lanes on SW 31 st Avenue from Riverland Road to Davie Boulevard will be narrowed and traffic may be shifted toward the center of the road Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for shoulder widening and drainage installation. One lane will be open in each direction. Description: The improvements under this contract include constructing sidewalks, multi-use pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes along 46 roadways in Broward County within Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Plantation, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Lauderdale Lakes, and Fort Lauderdale. Completion in fall Old Dixie Highway Improvements Project from NE 13 th Street to the Middle River Bridge in Fort Lauderdale One lane in either direction of Old Dixie Highway from NE 13 th Court to the south end of the Middle River Bridge may be closed daily between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. through Friday, February 2, 2018 for resurfacing, road widening, sign installation and landscaping. A flag crew will direct traffic and motorists can expect delays. No Thru Trucks signs have been installed along Old Dixie Highway at each end of the project limits NE 13 th Street in Fort Lauderdale and NE 11 th Avenue in Wilton Manors to enhance safety in the construction zone. Traffic lanes on Old Dixie Highway have been narrowed from NE 14 th Place to NE 18 th Court. This is a no passing zone and motorists should use caution when driving through the work zone. There is a new traffic pattern in place on Old Dixie Highway from NE 14th Place to NE 16th Court because of the new raised intersections, raised crosswalks, and new roundabout at NE 16th Court. Use caution when driving through the work zone. Description: The improvements under this contract include reducing the width of the travel lanes and modifying shoulders to add 4-foot bike lanes in both directions, constructing sidewalk, drainage improvements, adding roundabout at NE 16th Court, permanently reducing speed limit to 25 mph, installation of pedestrian lighting, adding landscaping and swales to improve drainage, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, constructing 8 raised intersections and 6 raised pedestrian crosswalks and adding new signing and pavement markings. NE 6 th Avenue Improvements Project from Oakland Park Boulevard to Commercial Boulevard in Oakland Park One northbound lane of NE 6 th Avenue from Commercial Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. for sidewalk construction and road work. Description: Project improvements include constructing new sidewalk along the east side of the road, relocating drainage structures, minor widening toward the shoulders, adding curb and gutter along the east side of the road, upgrading crosswalks to meet ADA standards, upgrading lighting at Oakland Park Boulevard and Commercial Boulevard, and adding sharrows to indicate that the travel lanes are to be shared with bicyclists. Completion in late SW 4 Avenue at SW 28 Street Intersection Improvements Project in Fort Lauderdale One lane of SW 28th Street at SW 4th Avenue will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road widening. A flag crew will direct traffic as needed. Description: Project improvements include installing new mast arm signals to replace the existing four-way stop signs, upgrading sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramps, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the intersection, minor widening along SW 28 Street to add left turn lanes, upgrading pavement markings and signs, and installing new drainage structures. A flag crew will direct traffic. The Ravenswood Road Bridge is anticipated to open to motorists and pedestrians by the end of November, weather permitting. Description: The improvements under this project consist of replacing the existing bridge over the Dania Cut-Off Canal, including replacement of the existing fender system. The work will include demolishing the existing bridge and new bridge construction.
