Thanks to all our Eagle eyed Readers out there in the County who spotted the mistake in the Badge Design here is the finished product. The Magic 4000 reached! Well the 29th February has come - and gone! and the bookings are still coming in! We have now some 4000 Campers booked. Bookings are still open but we need full payment now with any booking received. The Puddleduck Inn Comes to Big Camp The British themed Inn will be situated in The Stockmans Building, next to Staff Catering. It will serve reasonably priced Drinks In a relaxed atmosphere. What better way to unwind after a day at Camp, meet up with friends old and new! Opening times: Thursday 3 rd 4-11pm Friday 4 th 4 11pm Saturday 5 th 4 12mn Sunday 6 th 4 11pm Pub Quiz Friday 4 th (9pm) Karaoke Saturday 5 th All over 18yrs welcome both Staff & Contingent Leaders. New Competition for Scouts Scout Gateway Design Competition. Scouts can you design a Camp Gateway which will be erected at Harrogate for the BIG CAMP between the Red and Blue Zones, the route participants will use from the Camping area at the start of the activities? Yes! Then get your design on paper and submit it to: ACC Scouts, 15 School Lane, Addingham, West Yorkshire LS29 0JF before the 31st March. The winning entry will be chosen by the
2 Wharfedale Pioneering Team and announced as soon as possible. Retail Opportunities At Big Camp we are holding a small trade exhibition and selling advertising space in the camp program. This is to raise money towards the camp but is also a great advertising opportunity for companies. There will be about 1000 leaders at the camp from groups all over the north of England so the potential market is quite large. We already have a major Scout tent manufacturer and an outdoor retail company on board. If you have any contacts in companies who might be interested please pass their details to Trevor Newman, ACC Event Management (preferably with their consent) (An introduction is worth a million phone calls). Programme notes and how it works coming soon on the website look out for more details! There will also be a Craft zone and pioneering zone in addition with lots of great activities! Activities may change before event lots still going on and planning taking place! Leader programme and evening programme currently being finalised and will be sent out before the event! Site access times for Leaders. We have decided to extend the times when leaders can access site to set up their campsites. They can access site between 10am and 10pm on Thursday 3 rd May and from 10am on Friday 4 th May.
9 Big Camp Bookings Update Staff forms if you have signed up for the event as staff and not yet sent your form and payments in please do so as soon as possible please! Payments groups need to get payments in ASAP! West Yorkshires Got Talent. Fancy the chance to perform at the BIG camp 2012? Do you / you and your friends have a talent that you could perform?! A show, band, performance, comedy set, skill??? If so, then make a note of the dates below and look out for more details of the up and coming audition nights! Auditions pm Monday April 16 th. Ilkley Curley Hill Camp Site Wednesday April 18 th Valley Fan Wood Spen Thursday April 19 th Huddersfield Bradley Wood Dates for your Diary: There will be a Big Camp Contingent leaders meeting at Bradley Wood on Tuesday 20 th March at 7.30pm. The meeting will cover: 1. Arrival Arrangements 2. Departure Arrangements 3. Safety & Safeguarding 4. Programme 5. Site Facilities & Services 6. Camping Arrangements The meeting is open to all Big Camp Leaders but we would like at least one representative from each contingent to attend. On Wednesday 21 st March 2012 there will be a Staff Social at Bradley Wood at 7.30pm an evening where staff can come along and meet each other, ask questions etc and get an update on where we are at with the event before the final countdown begins... I am sure that there will be lots of questions! On Thursday 15 th March 7.30pm at Bradley Wood there will be a Team Health & Safety/Disaster Planning Meeting.
