They put in a LOT of hard work this season! Way to go, Ramblers! Mooseheart 63, Serena 49!! Dinner at the museum will be an interactive experience where attendees will be able to walk through the exhibits and enjoy all that the museum has to offer after being served a wonderful meal. I am truly thankful for the Board; Rosa, Shirley, Tina and Kathy for helping me find my way and keeping me on track. I would like to thank my Chairpersons Charlene, Dawn, Cindy, Kari, Carol, Patsy & Tami for all the fundraising they did for Mooseheart and Moosehaven. The month of April is the last month of the Moose Year. May will be a new beginning for the new board. Chapter 439 Juneau, Women of the Moose, we need your help. We need volunteers to be board members. There are term limits to each position and we really need to fill the positions as soon as possible. If you think you would like to be on the board, please reach out to one of us. Rosa and I will be there to help you. I had support from so many members, believe me, you will not be left on your own. We will continue to hold Nominating Committee Meetings each Monday at 6 pm. We are still down on our membership and we are still waiving application fees until April 26th. You have consistently shown yourself to be a loyal and hardworking member of our Chapter and an integral part of the WOTM team as well as a true friend. From your Thursday Night Dinners that you have prepared and cooked yourself, cooking for various fundraising events and to the out pouring of support that you have shown to all of the Women at our lodge. It has been a true pleasure getting to know you and work with you! With much love and respect, Dawn Cherri Harris Too many times we hear, Why isn t the Board cooking? or Why aren t you having dinner tonight? When was the last time that you stepped up and helped out? This lodge belongs to all Moose members of the LOOM Chapter 700 AND WOTM Chapter 439. That means that in order for our Lodge to prosper and succeed we NEED and MUST have our members step up. Every single person that you have seen in the kitchen on Tuesday Nights, Wednesday Nights, Thursday Nights, Friday nights and Sunday Breakfast/Brunch are VOLUNTEERS. This includes our bartenders. We are NOT paid to be there. Each and every one of us works a day job and still manage to take time out of our lives to serve at our lodge. DID you know that IF each member of our lodge stepped up and volunteered that we would have every single food night and every single Sunday covered for two years? ONE night, ONE day, that s all we are asking. You do NOT need experience. WE WILL help teach you the ropes!! So PLEASE step up today. Our Lodge deserves to be the BEST that WE CAN make it!! Dawn C. Her father was a General Contractor who built homes and her mother was a beautician who owned her own beauty shop. Sandra was one of 4 children, all girls, growing up in Lamar, Missouri.

4 EVERYONE, MEET SANDRA! Moosehaven Resident of the Month! This month we get up close and personal with Sandra Balestracci. She was born on April 4, 1934, in Summit, Arkansas to parents Cecil and Raye Culbertson. Her father was a General Contractor who built homes and her mother was a beautician who owned her own beauty shop. Sandra was one of 4 children, all girls, growing up in Lamar, Missouri. She attended Lamar High School, where she was the star girls basketball player. Sandra also enjoyed competing around the state in track and tennis. Sandra went to South West Missouri University, where she earned her degree as a Recreational Leader. She was a professional musician, playing the drums in a band during college. She married her first husband in 1956 and they had two children; son, Page and daughter, Christi. In 1988 she married Henry Balestracci. They were married for 24 years until he passed away in Sandra also has 3 beautiful grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. They lived in New England, and that is where Sandra started her 12 year career as an Assistant to the Honorable George Jacobs, Justice of the Court of Appeals. She also was the Director of Sales for the Orlando Marriott Inn, City Recreation Director for the city of North Augusta, S.C., Fashion Show Coordinator for Stein Mart and owner of Car Spa, a full-service car wash and detail center. But, her most rewarding job was and still is teaching and choreographing dance. She was a dancer and showgirl in the Broadway Ziegfeld Follies for 7 years. Sandra has many accomplishments and awards. She was the Director for the following pageants: Ms. Florida Senior America Pageant, Miss Augusta Pageant, Miss North Augusta Pageant and Our Little Miss Pageant for children. She was a Group Coordinator for Coral Ridge Towers Condominium and a Line Dance Instructor for various churches and community centers. She is a Certified Physical Fitness & Recreational Leader, Certified Line Dance Instructor and Certified Zumba Instructor. Sandra was 1st runner-up in the Choreography Competition at the Boston Showdown and 1st runner-up Mrs. South Carolina. Sandra joined the WOTM Chapter 600 in Pompano Beach. She said they enjoyed going there because they had the best catfish dinners and entertainment. She was a member there for 8 years, and during her time there they never had the opportunity to hear about Moosehaven. It wasn t until she was visiting family in Fleming Island, FL that she passed by Moosehaven and turned in to see what it was all about. I think this could be a lesson for all Lodges and Chapters, when we get a new member, we need to share everything that the Moose offers. After stopping for a visit and learning all about Moosehaven, Sandra decided she was ready to move in. Sandra said she enjoys the dances and socials that Moosehaven offers on campus. She also enjoys teaching line dancing at the Orange Park Senior Center and the Orange Park Women s Club, where she is 3rd Vice President. Sandra said that, after coming to Moosehaven, she was very thankful to Marge Walters for her friendship and guidance during her first weeks here. Advice to the next generation: always have a positive outlook on life. Recognize your strengths but also your limitations, and remember everybody can dance; it s the drive and passion that makes you a dancer. 4

Some of the kitchen utensils have come up missing. Currently we cannot find a plastic basket full of steak knives, a handful of soup spoons and a large skillet. If you have borrowed any of these items please return them to the kitchen. The Board has decided to start using Whiz Chips on May first.
