2 PAGE 1 ACADEMY RETURN DATE The Academy will re-open from Saturday 1 st September, therefore all training for season 12 will start from this date. The new timetable can be found on the SA website if you are unsure of your new training schedule. COMMITMENT RULES Please remember, now that all commitment forms have been signed and handed in, any unnotified dates not attended will be considered a break of commitment to your squad. A break of commitment will incur a 10 fine or in some cases, you may lose your position on the squad with no refund (as noted in the code and conditions). If you are injured or not well on the day of training, we would still expect you to attend the session to watch or condition where possible. Please contact us before the session, giving plenty of notice, if you are not fit enough to train so we can organise cover for the team. The only reason you will be excused from training is due to anything contagious i.e. sickness bugs. GYM GROUPS Everyone now should have received a text with their new gym group, day and times. We are no longer asking for commitment forms for gym as this is the responsibility of the athlete to notify us if you can t attend any sessions. If gym attendance is noted as inconsistent, this will affect your place on the squad which may result in moving groups or even losing your place on all competitive teams. TEAM CAPTAINS We will be announcing our team captains during the first week of training when we return in September. This year the team captain will receive a list of responsibilities for the whole of season 12. For athletes chosen from our tiny, mini, youth and junior divisions, we will also require one of their parents to take on the role of team mom/dad (see below). Senior team members will be expected to take on both roles. TEAM MOM/DAD Parents of team captains will take on a bigger role this year. When team captains are announced, we will also give them a list of responsibilities for their team mom/dad. If you would prefer not to be responsible for this role, please let me know immediately and we will advertise to other parents from that team to take on the role. They would then need to liaise with the team captain throughout the season. COMPETITION ENTRY FEES DUE We will be collecting the 1 st entry fees for all 3 autumn/winter competitions by Saturday 15 th September. The total fee for the first 3 entry fees totals 100 which must be paid with cash and sent in a labelled envelope by 15 th September. We will collect crossover fees and spectator tickets for Colchester by Saturday 13 th October. 3 PAGE 2 NEW HAIR BOWS All Athletes will have a new competing bow for season 12. This will be a tail-less bow which will be easier to wear whilst competing. We will be collecting payment of 25 (cash only) for the bow by Saturday 22 nd September. Please send your cash in a labelled envelope. Please note, we will ask all athletes to train in their hair bows and any hair pieces at least 2 weeks before every competition. NEW SA TRAINING KIT (Optional extra s) Please see our new SA training kit catalogue on our website. I will be collecting first orders by Saturday 22 nd September which should take between 4 8 weeks for delivery. Please download the order form and send with your cash payment by 22 nd September for any extra optional training kit. Our next orders will be collected by Saturday 26 th January WINTER SHOWCASE SUNDAY 2 ND DECEMBER This has now been arranged for Sunday 2 nd December at the Telford International Centre. All cheer athletes, jazz and hip hop dancers MUST be available to take part in this showcase which will be held the weekend before our first competition for season 12. Tickets for this event will be on sale at the Academy from week commencing MONDAY 1 ST OCTOBER at 15 per person. We have used some of the funds from the Legacy winnings to pay towards the hire of the cheer floor in order to keep the ticket prices down (please see further details below). Tickets will be on sale at the Academy as follows (cash only):- Monday to Friday Between 4.00pm and 4.30pm Saturdays Between 4.30 and 6.30pm Seating will be tiered at this venue therefore viewing will be excellent for all spectators. SHOW REHEARSAL FEES DUE SATURDAY 29 TH SEPTEMBER We will now hold our showcase rehearsal at the Telford International Centre on Sunday 2 nd December rather than at the Academy on Sunday 25 th November. As there is extra cost to hire for this rehearsal, we will require a rehearsal fee of 10 per athlete/performer. However, as some of the winnings from Legacy has been used towards the cost of the showcase, all athletes from any of the winning teams at the Legacy competition in July, will only pay 5 for their rehearsal fee (see below). The fee of 10/ 5 will be required by Saturday 29 th September with cash only in a labelled envelope. Supreme, Cyclones, Fusion, Elite, Extreme - 5 rehearsal fee (team members at Legacy July 2018) All other athletes - 10 rehearsal fee EXCEL VISIT FOR NEW TRAINERS We have arranged a visit from Excel cheer on Saturday 29 th September. They will be here for sizing and to take orders from 4 6pm on this date. A pricing list will be available to collect nearer the time. PRIVATE TUMBLE/DANCE CLASSES Our private lessons from this season will be offered as follows:- 30 minutes working on one particular skill minutes for overall conditioning and technique 25 These sessions will be offered from Monday to Friday between 4.00pm and 5.00pm. Athletes/dancers must arrive at 4pm to stretch and warm up ready for the private to start at 4.15pm. All sessions must be pre-paid and cannot be refunded or transferred if cancelled for any reason.

As I get numerous texts throughout the day, unfortunately some may get missed or delayed as I have to wait to discuss with the appropriate coaches. FACEBOOK GROUPS AND TEAM APPS New Facebook groups and team apps are now available for all athletes and dancers for season 12. If you have moved into a new team this season or are new to the Academy, please add yourself to the appropriate team Facebook group. You can do this by searching SA (insert team name) Please add yourself to the group and you will be accepted by the moderator. Music, training videos and updates will be added to the Facebook group throughout the season, so it s important that you become a member. If you have not done so already, please make sure you have also downloaded our Team App to your smartphone. You can do this by searching Team App in your app store (the icon is green with a T in the middle). When you have done this search for SA Academy and add yourself to the appropriate teams and gym groups. Training schedules and other updates are posted on here regularly which send updates straight to your phone. DROP OFF AND COLLECTION FOR TRAINING Due to insurance, athletes can only be dropped off 15 minutes prior to class start times and must be picked up within a 10 minute window of classes finishing. Any athletes left outside this window, may incur a charge for coaches time, especially if left when the Academy closes.

We will arrange meeting times for a celebration meal at the end of the competition. PREMIER INN MANCHESTER AIRPORT We have also booked overnight accommodation at the Premier Inn for Friday 19 th April. This has been fully paid from funds we received from Marston s. COACHES CONTRIBUTION Supreme 18 and over 100 Supreme + U/18 Chaperone fee 150 This will need to be paid by Monday 24 th September. 7 PAGE 6 SUMMIT TEAM - SA REIGN TRYOUTS Summit tryouts will take place on Sunday 9 th September from pm. Results will be posted on Monday 10 th September and training will commence from Tuesday 11 th September. The attached commitment form MUST be brought with you when attending tryouts on 9 th September. TRAINING FEES If successful and you receive a place on our travel team, you will need to set another standing 37 per month. This will be required from 11 th September for 8 months (up to and including 11 th April). These fees will include all UK training, training kit (crop top & shorts) and a T-shirt. UK TRAINING Training will take place on Tuesdays starting from Tuesday 11 th September, 7.00pm to 8.30pm (a commitment form is attached). Please note there are two dates during half term where training will take place during the day. COACHES CONTRIBUTION Summit - coach contribution (travelling with family) Summit - coach and chaperone contribution ( 50 contribution towards chaperoning on flights) The coaches contribution will be required with cash by Tuesday 2 nd October. VENUE & DATE ESPN Wide World of Sports, Orlando, Florida. 8 PAGE 7 US Training Would need to be available for training over the weekend of Saturday 28th April - Wednesday 1st May (days and times TBC depending on Worlds). Training costs apply to hire training venue (usually $15 dollars per athlete per hour). Flights Athletes also competing on a Worlds team will book their flights in a group with the Academy. Athletes just flying out for Summit will need to book their own flights. Flights can be booked through Sally O Hara from Co-Op travel Accommodation Athletes travelling with families can find own accommodation for duration of stay. Athletes must be present at all team activities and training. We will endeavour to organise athletes travelling without families with travel arrangements and accommodation in Florida. Please note, all coaches will be travelling to Florida on 20 th April with the Worlds team. If you need to arrange chaperones, please state this on your commitment form.
