2 RULES 1 Ages will be taken as of the 1 st January 2017 and proof of date of birth will be required if challenged. 2 The decision of the adjudicator is final. An objection on any other grounds maybe lodged by a teacher in writing on payment of a fee of There must be perfect silence in the hall during the performance of each competition. 4 Dancers must be in full costume including shoes for the presentation of prizes. 5 Children up to and including the age of 12 are prohibited from wearing face make-up. 6 All dancers are prohibited from wearing any form of glitter on their face. 7 There is to be no changing of costumes in the competition hall. Changing rooms are provided. 8 NO SMOKING or Alcohol permitted anywhere within the school grounds. 9 Mobile phones must be switched off or on silent in the competition hall. 10 Any form of unauthorised photography which captures a dancer s image whilst taking part in competition is expressly forbidden. This covers photography by means of cameras, mobile phones, video cameras, with or without flash facility. However they may be used during prize giving. 11 Competitors in Beginners A, B and figure must wear class costumes or skirt and blouse etc. Those wearing solo costumes will not be allowed to compete and their entry fee will not be refunded. 12 Beginners A Confined to competitors who have never won 1 st place in that particular dance in any age group. 13 Beginners B Confined to competitors who have never won 1 st place in that particular dance in any age group. 14 Pre-Open Confined to competitors who have never won 1 st place in that particular age group. Age the competition to be under is specified. Competitors may only compete in the group above if a dance in not catered for on the syllabus. 15 Open Open to all competitors. Competitors may not dance out of their age group. 16 In the case of ceili and figure competitions where it is specified over a particular age it is permissible to have 25% of a team younger that the age specified. 17 Dancers must compete in at least one open solo competition to be eligible to compete in Open Solo championships. 18 Once a dancer has won 1 st prize in a competition they are not eligible for forthcoming competitions even if they have been pre-paid. 19 Claddagh Reel Cup ** - Confined to London & Home Counties & Southern England Regional Branches for dancers who have never won a Championship in any age group. 20 Outside London Trophy * Confined to dancers outside of the London & Home Counties and Southern England Regional Branches. 21 Beginners Trophy s Dancers must have danced in the beginners reel, light jig, single jig or slip jig. Competitors must be in beginners A or B for the dance they perform in the trophy. 22 Pre Open Trophy s Dancers must have danced in one of the pre-open competitions in their own age group, this does not include the treble reel of the Traditional Set Dance. Competitors must be in pre-open for the dance they perform in the trophy. 23 Walkers Competition Ungraded Solo Competition. Dancers who compete in the walkers competition may not compete in any other competitions. 24 Figure & Set Dance Competitions No additional Figure or Set Dance entries will be permitted over the weekend. NO SMOKING ANYWHERE WITHIN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS, YOU MUST GO OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL GROUNDS, THIS INCLUDES ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES AND VAPOURISERS.

Late entries MUST be accompanied by a late entry fee of (This fee will be donated to The Macmillan Cancer Support). School numbers will not be issued if the late payment fee has not been received. Regular public transport serves the attraction and a shuttle bus from Watford Junction train station is available, costing 2.50 per return journey.

11 A valid booking confirmation or Studio Tour ticket is required to board the shuttle bus service. Please ensure you have these to hand on arrival at the station. Further information can be found at TRAVEL INTO LONDON Trains from Watford Junction depart to London Euston regularly and direct trains take around 20 minutes.
