2 Designed by children for children For the fifth year in a row, IKEA arranged the soft toy drawing competition and invited children from around the world to draw the soft toy of their dreams. The 5 most unique creations would be turned into real soft toys and become the limited-edition collection called SAGOSKATT. The response was quite staggering with over 87,000 pieces of art being submitted. Eventually, our jury settled on five winners whose creations included a pink unicorn living in the clouds, a rainbow coloured shark travelling the seas, a mischievous blue monster called Monster, A hedgehog-, dinosaur- and monster hybrid with a passion for tropical fruit and a dotted seal who loves to play with his best friends, fish. It is incredibly fun to look at all the drawings and select the five winners. And hard! There are so many fantastic drawings to choose from. This year we saw a lot of unicorns and monsters and rainbow coloured creatures in the selection. But also owls and penguins, says Bodil Fritjofsson, Product developer at Children s IKEA. This year, the winners come from: Iceland Poland South Korea Sweden China

3 SAGOSKATT It all goes to charity SAGOSKATT is not only a collection of cute and adorable soft toys it s play with a purpose. As part of our Let s Play For Change campaign, IKEA is donating the full purchase price of SAGOSKATT globally, to local charities supporting children s rights to play and develop. It really is a case of kids helping kids.

5 Let s Play For Change Play is vital. Not just for kids, but for all of us. It s a basic need rather than a luxury, and with it we connect, create, recharge, escape and explore. That s why, during the IKEA Let s Play for Change campaign, from November 19-27, we ve made our stores playful places to be. Because we want to show you just how easy it is to play and how sharing light and simple activities together makes everyday life at home better.

7 Monster Runar, 8, Iceland PH PH Designer thoughts Jury statement I just wanted to draw something cool so I drew a monster. His name is Monster and during the days he s always saying something funny, teasing and joking. This happy monster is a clear mirror of a child s imagination. Wonder if the colourful hair has somewhat connection to the outer space. So friendly and alert.

8 Shark Jimin, 9, South Korea PH PH Designer thoughts Jury statement I drew a little shark because I love swimming and want to swim together with the little shark. During the days I think he is travelling under the sea. This fantasy approach of a fish can just come from a child. We love the combination with the big mouth, teeth and the small body. The fish looks so positive.

9 Seal Natalia, 8, Poland PH PH Designer thoughts Jury statement My seal s name is Unda. Unda is very friendly and when it is happy, it pats its belly with a flipper. It can do a lot of funny tricks, such as flipping a fish on its nose. Fish are her best friend, for this reason Unda always carries one in its pocket. We fell in love with this little dotted seal. The seal look so happy and satisfied with life and to have a good friend in a pocket close to the heart. Or is it snacks? Something to eat that is put in the pocket However the fish looks happy so all in all. This is a happy fellow.

10 Unicorn Peixin, 5, China PH PH PH Designer thoughts Jury statement I drew a pink unicorn named Pink unicorn who loves to fly in the sky. I hope other children in the world can play with my soft toy with me. We love this unique unicorn! The playful body and unique design, colour, horn, wings, eyes and the colourful tail. It looks like it will bring joy and happiness to the world!

11 Hedgehog Dinosaur Greta, 8, Sweden PH PH Designer thoughts Jury statement I have made a mix of a hedgehog, dinosaur and a monster. I coloured it green because it is my favourite colour. Kotten only eats fruit. Kotten has very good claws that are used for climbing in trees. It lives in the jungle or rainforest where there is a lot of tropical fruit and it likes a hot climate. Just want to hug this green little spikey animal. Looks like a trustworthy friend that you can cuddle with and that will protect you with its spikes if needed.

The soft toy drawing competition has, over the years, involved hundreds of thousands of creative kids around the world and raised a considerable amount of money to support children s right to play and develop.
