1 2017 Gym Sport and Competition information In 2017 we will be offering 4 Gym Sports which gymnasts may choose to compete and train in. Gymnasts will be selected for each Gym Sport and which they will be training in. Gymnasts may choose up to 2 gym sports to compete in throughout the year. This year we are competing in WAG, Tumbling, MAG and we are re introducing to CWG this year Sports Acro. We recommend that gymnasts only compete 2 gym sports as the cost of uniforms, entry fees and travel will add up as well as we feel that concentrating on 1 or 2 gym sports will be beneficial to the gymnast. Term fees are separate for each gym sport. Gymnasts must also pay club membership of $100 which includes Gym NSW registration and insurance. WAG women s artistic gymnastics ALP (Australian levels program) also known as National levels (NL) and levels 3 6 foundation levels. ALP SQUAD - Gymnasts selected in this must commit to the designated training days and will be selected to compete at club, invitational, regional, State and Country Championship. A high level of attendance is expected as well as competing at majority of the competitions offered. Gymnasts must also reach all skill requirements in the level they are competing in. For example a gymnasts may be training in the level 5 6 but as of the first competition of the year has not yet achieved all the skills to compete level 5 so they will compete level 4 until they reach the level 5 requirements. This gymnasts will still stay training with the level 5 6. The training days and fees for each ALP are: Level 3 ALP - Wednesday , Friday and Saturday Term 1 fee - $330 Level 4 ALP - - Monday , Wednesday , Friday and Saturday Term 1 fee - $365 Level 5 6 ALP - Monday , Tuesday 7.00am 8.30am (every second week, weeks 1, 3,5,7,9 term 1), Wednesday , Friday and Saturday Term 1 fee - $385 Foundation level The foundation is for gymnasts who cannot commit to the hours or all the competitions required for the ALP levels or for gymnasts working in between levels. Foundation levels is also for gymnasts who may not want to compete WAG anymore but would like to still keep training. Gymnasts may choose to train 1, 2 or 3 days a week in the foundation levels. These gymnasts will only compete in club and regional competitions and may be selected for Country Championships (if selected they will compete the ALP level in which they have reached all the skill requirements). The Foundation levels competitions and training is more relaxed and not as competitive as the ALP levels. The training days and fees for the foundation are: Wednesdays , Fridays , intermediate tumbling Monday or advanced Saturday (coach to select tumbling class for each gymnasts). Term 1 fee - 1 day a week $260, 2 days per week $270, 3 days a week $310

2 Gymnastics NSW ALP level 6 Border challenge team selection and National clubs - In 2017 we will be attending trials for the ALP Level 6 border challenge. The top 6 gymnasts from the trials will be selected to represent NSW at the L6 border challenge. Last year the border challenge was in Queensland this year s venue and State are yet to be confirmed. If gymnasts are selected in the team they will need to purchase full NSW uniform at the trials. We would also like to send a team to National clubs in Bendigo. Clubs send teams of 5 gymnasts in WAG ALP level We will only be attending if we can fill a team or if we can combine with another club. If we attend these comps or get gymnasts selected in NSW teams I would like to do some fundraising to help with some of the costs involved in uniforms and the travel involved. These competitions will only be for gymnasts that are in the ALP and can commit to training in this for the year. Tumbling There is 2 competitive streams in tumbling. National levels stream and the International levels stream. National stream Gymnasts selected in the National levels stream will compete at 1 state trial and State and Country. There may also be regional competitions. Training days and fees for national stream. Level 3 Saturday (term fee included in WAG fee). Level Tuesday pm, Saturday Term 1 fee - $200. International stream Gymnasts in the International stream will compete at 2 state trials and if they receive the qualifying mark will attend State where the 3 competitions combined are used as selection for the NSW team for the Australian Championships for Gymnasts competing in the International stream will be competing in and. Gymnasts that get selected in the NSW team will need to purchase full NSW uniform at State. Gymnasts attending the KSTP camp in January are up for selection for international stream, and will be told following the camp if they have been selected to compete at the first state trial. Training days and fees for International stream. Tuesdays pm, Saturdays ( ). Term 1 fee - $200. There may also be monthly training in Sydney at an additional cost. Tumbling at National Clubs This year I would like to send a tumbling team to National Clubs in Bendigo. The levels and requirements for this comp are still to be confirmed. If we attend these comps or get gymnasts selected in NSW teams I would like to do some fundraising to help with some of the costs involved in uniforms and the travel involved. These competitions will only be for gymnasts that are in the National and International Squad and can commit to training in this for the year. MAG All MAG information will be sent to MAG parents.
