Robinson OKC, OK Dear Ms. Corcoran: Orange Peel has been a part of s history since Despite its absence since 2009, the demand for Orange Peel is higher than ever among a new generation of OSU students. As a result, Oklahoma State is pleased to announce Orange Peel will return Sept. 15, 2012 at 8 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena with country artist Luke Bryan and comedienne Chelsea Handler headlining the show. This would be a great event to cover because it is a local event known nationwide and has become one of OSU s most beloved and anticipated traditions. Orange Peel provides an opportunity for all in the area to see A-list entertainment such as Bryan and Handler. Bryan is an award-winning country artist who has a strong connection with his college-aged audience through his series of EPs called Spring Break, and Handler is best-known for her hit show on E!, Chelsea Lately. We know Oklahoma Today likes to highlight places and events. Because of that, we wanted to give you first option to cover the event. There will be credentials provided to your writer and an opportunity to speak with Bryan and Handler after the show. We need to know by March 16 if you are interested. 3 News Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT (405) OSU Announces Luke Bryan and Chelsea Handler for Orange Peel 2012 STILLWATER, Okla. has announced country artist Luke Bryan and stand-up comedienne Chelsea Handler as this year s entertainment for the country s largest student-run event, Orange Peel. The event is set for Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. in Gallaher-Iba Arena. Tickets go on sale for students Aug. 1 and will be available to the public starting Aug. 15. Reserved seating is $45 and floor seating is $55. OSU students chose Bryan and Handler in a school-wide survey sent out in January. Bryan was named the top new artist and top new solo artist at the American Country Awards in In 2010, he received the USA Weekend breakthrough video of the year at the CMT Awards. In addition to his three full-length albums, Bryan has connected to his college audience with an EP series called Spring Break. Handler is the star of her own late-night talk show on E!, Chelsea Lately. She is also a best-selling author and has starred in movies such as Hop and the newly-released This Means War.

6 Backgrounder FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Luke Bryan FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT (405) Country artist Luke Bryan is set to perform at s student-run concert Orange Peel in September Bryan grew up in Leesburg, Ga. and began playing the guitar when he was 14 years old. After graduating from Georgia Southern University, his father forced him to move to Nashville to pursue a music career. Just 10 years later, his songs Do I, Rain Is a Good Thing and Country Girl (Shake It for Me) have made him one of the best-known country artists. In 2007, Bryan released his debut album, I ll Stay Me. Since then, he has released two more full-length albums as well as an EP series geared toward his college audience called Spring Break. In 2010 and 2011, Bryan was nominated for an assortment of honors. He walked away with the top new artist and top new solo artist awards at the American Country Awards in 2009 and the USA Weekend breakthrough video of the year at the CMT Awards in Bryan will be taking a break from his tour with Jason Aldean to perform at Orange Peel. He will wrap up his tour later that month. ###
