2 SAM & SHAUNA S BIG COOK-OUT Monday, 15 April BBC One Wales, 7.30pm Sam Evans and Shauna Guinn are renowned for their amazing way of cooking meat with smoke and fire. But at Grangetown, in the heart of Cardiff, they take on a whole new challenge, by preparing an epic vegetarian barbecue for the vibrant local Gujarati community. The Gujaratis are strict vegetarians and they come together to feed the homeless every month with fresh, home-cooked food. To reward their efforts, meat-loving Sam and Shauna will have to come up with some innovative ideas to tantalise their taste buds. With the help of the community, they build a giant multi-layered grill that several people can use at once to cook all the veg, and teach the whole community how to cook a vegetarian spin on the classic burger and chips with grilled cassava fries. Sam and Shauna also learn how to make an avocado and mango chutney using a recipe from one of the community members, handed down through the generations. To finish things off, they make a black bean and jackfruit chilli and demonstrate the best way to make vegetable kebabs. Stephen Morgan 2

3 WALES: LAND OF THE WILD Thursday, 18 April BBC One Wales, 8pm It s summer in this ground-breaking, natural history series and Wales is experiencing one of its hottest and driest summers in a generation. It should be the most bountiful time of year for wildlife, but this year will prove to be more challenging than most Off the Pembrokeshire coast is Skokholm, an island famed for its seabird colonies. But there are mammals living there, too. Rabbits were brought here in the 13th century as a source of meat and fur and are now a wild feature of the landscape. When little kits emerge from the warrens, they become prey for predatory great black-backed gulls which are struggling to raise their own young. This is nature, red in tooth, claw and beak. Cwm Colliery in Beddau was once one of the biggest mines in Wales. The last coal was mined in 1986, but 200 years of industry have left a surprisingly wild legacy. The abandoned spoil heaps are heat absorbent and free draining. They are, in effect, the sand dunes of the Welsh Valleys, providing a much-needed refuge for insects such as the green tiger beetle. With a ferocious set of jaws, powerful wing and the equivalent speed of an Olympic sprinter, this is one of Wales top predators. Cerys Rees 3

4 WEATHERMAN WALKING: THE WELSH COAST Friday, 19 April BBC One Wales, 7.30pm Weatherman Derek Brockway is off to the Gower in this episode of Weatherman Walking as he continues to celebrate the stunning Welsh coastline. Starting near Worm s Head, he turns his back on the famous Rhossili Beach and heads in the opposite direction on a spectacular route to Oxwich Bay - but walking isn t the only thing on his agenda. After traversing the windswept clifftops, he explores the caves at Mewslade Bay in an abseiling adventure that gets his adrenaline going. At nearby Horton, he meets a local who swims in the sea on the Gower every day of the year; whatever the weather. Derek braves the waves and joins him for an icy dip, despite it being a cold and grey November day. Having worked up an appetite, Derek heads back to dry land to sample what the sea has to offer. A local chef takes him foraging for food at his final destination of Oxwich Bay, where the pair tuck in to the fishy dish. Jordan Harris 4

Hywel can t contain his excitment when he recieves a suggestive text from Ffion, inviting him over to the flat. Aaron continues to keep Britt s condition a secret. Over a meal at the Tapas, it becomes clear that Debbie doesn t know as much about Spain as she makes out she does. Jason s given sage advice from Ffion behind Sara s back. Aaron s heart sinks when Britt reveals that she doesn t want to take her tablets anymore. Megan discovers Jason and Dai in Bethania. Gwawr Jones 5
