2 WELCOME Welcome to Gold Rush Cheer, we are the only regional community based program that specialises in the amazing athletic sport of all star cheerleading! Our programs cater for all ages from 2 years old to adults offering performances at community events, team bonding activities and selected teams travelling for state and national competitions. Gold Rush Cheer boasts a fun and positive environment for athletes not only to learn great athletic skills but strive to develop life skills to be proud of, such as team work, determination, willingness to learn spirit on and off the floor, including everyone, being kind, friendly helpful athletes that we are proud of! Our Mission at GOLD RUSH CHEER is to help every athlete have fun, work hard to reach not only their goals but the squads goals too, make friends and build selfconfidence. Ensuring this in a positive safe working environment, learning new skills and growing to your full potential! We look forward to welcoming you into our gym and become par t of the Gold Rush Cheer family! WHAT IS ALL STAR CHEERLEADING? Cheerleading is a performance based sport that combines elements of gymnastics, dance and acrobatics. A cheer routine incorporates dance, jumps, tumbling, stunts, pyramids and basket tosses that are performed together in a highly spectacular and energetic routine for 2 minutes 30 seconds. Cheerleading is the ultimate team sport, as it relies on every member of the team to be successful, resulting in developed confidence, coordination, trust and team work. We offer the chance to be par t of an amazing family, training and performing together ; we offer teams and programs for all ages from the recreational athlete to truly committed cheerleader! Gold Rush Cheer is the only 100% full committed program to All Star Cheerleading in the goldfields region. For our 2018 season we have some NEW fantastic equipment, including a full size SPRUNG competition floor. We also have lots of other equipment to help our cheerleaders progress such as our 12 metre air track. Gold Rush Cheer is lead by experienced and trained coaches who all have their required USASF credentials and working with children s checks. Gold Rush Cheer is passionate about EVERY athlete within our program. We want to help every athlete achieve their goals and enjoy every minute of their journey. Gold Rush Cheer offers our athletes travelling opportunities to showcase their cheerleading talents outside of the goldfields region and on the big stage! Gold Rush Cheer is community orientated and loves to be a part of Kalgoorlie- Boulder Community Events At Gold Rush Cheer our coaching staff are passionate and enthusiastic about every aspect of cheerleading, we love to involve everyone in the fun including extended family and friends. We also run a CIT Coach in Training Program that offers the chance to train as a coach. This is offered to athletes showing the ability to lead as well as training hard and having the correct skill set needed to coach others. This process starts by helping and supporting current coaches to follow through to gaining their own credentials. Athletes in this program can start as young as 15 years old being offered to motivated, responsible, inspiring individuals. Our girls really love it Gold Rush Cheer. Allison and all the other coaches are fantastic, and very skilled and patient. 4 JOIN THE RUSH Becoming a part of Gold Rush cheer is easy and every athlete is placed on a team! All you need to do is attend one of our team placement sessions for your specific age category. Team placement sessions allow athletes to work with our friendly staff to determine the most appropriate Gold Rush Team for them! 1. Want to try cheer and see what Gold rush is all about? Come along for a FREE cheer session prior to team placements on SATURDAY 2ND DECEMBER and have some fun! FREE CHEER CLASS - SATURDAY 2ND DECEMBER 11AM-12PM - 8 & UNDER 12PM-1PM YEARS 1-2PM - 14 YEARS & OLDER 2. Enrol with Gold Rush Cheer on team placement week bring your enrolment form and payment form (attached at the end of this pack) along to your appropriate team placement session below. Athletes team placement will be determined on a range of requirements such as skill level, age, willingness to learn, attitude, stunt position and mental readiness. All athletes are placed on a team with others of similar skill set, with a team s level being decided by the majority of skills demonstrated by the athletes on the team. This creates the best possible team for not only the individual but team as a whole to achieve success and grow as athletes. 3. Once you have come along to team placements and filled out all your relevant paperwork you will receive an in December to notify you which team you are on, remember everyone makes a team! 4. Although Choreography sessions are longer hours than a typical training session athletes are stepping through their routines formulating the shell and do not train hard throughout these sessions physically. Skills Camp: GRC offers our competitive athletes a specialised skills camp with guest instructors to help standardise skills and progress our athletes technique. Our instructors will be bring the latest and best techniques to teach our athletes alongside a camp itinerary full of fun, team bonding and activities! Please see below for additional cost information. Look out for our choreography week & skills camp time tables as they will be different to our usual sessions. Solos/Partner Stunts: Available in private cheer lessons with the possibility to perform in community events. Group Stunts: Available for athletes to compete together and perform at community events. Please speak to Allison directly if you would like to express your interest for a solo, partner or group stunt.

Our 2018 touring plans include travelling to Per th & the Gold Coast for selected teams and the possibility to compete in HAWAII, USA in February of Keep an eye out for more touring information within your team placement .

7 TUMBLE CLASSES Tumbling is an extremely important part of cheerleading and is a huge factor into the levelling of teams.. The word tumbling is used to describe the gymnastics element of cheerleading such as cartwheels, handstands and flipping skills. Athletes taking additional tumbling classes with Gold Rush Cheer usually progress faster within their skill level. Tumble classes are split into age groups of 5-8yrs, 9-12yrs and 13+ yrs. If you would like to sign up for tumble classes please tick on your enrolment form. Classes are $12 per lesson and will be charged with your chosen payment method. Tumble Privates: If you would like some one on one coaching time you can book in for private tumble sessions, these are $25 for 30minutes, we ask you arrive 15 minutes early to warm up. OTHER ADDITIONAL CLASSES: Flyer Classes: Our flyer classes are FREE! Yes free! Come along and work on your flexibility and core strength for those all-important shapes and top girl work! Open Gym: At least once a term GRC will hold open gym sessions; these will usually be on a weekend but could be on a weekday during school holidays. 8 ANNUAL INVESTMENT All Athletes are required to pay a registration fee when enroling with GRC. This fee covers multiple expenses and gets your athlete set up for the 2018 season. All athletes will be required to book their own travel and accommodation or use partial parenting system. We will have compulsory activities whist on Tour but the rest of the time is your time. The location of hotel where staff are staying and more info will be given out at meetings should you wish to stay with GRC. Allow approx. $85 competition entry depending on amount of routines entered, travel to Per th and Accommodation for 2 nights. National - you will be required to attend a compulsory meeting where all information will be discussed. All athletes will be required to book their own travel and accommodation or use partial parenting system. We will have compulsory activities whist on Tour but the rest of the time is your time. The location of hotel where staff are staying and more info will be given out at meetings should you wish to stay with GRC. This will be dependent on amount of fundraising done however should allow for $80 competition entry dependent on amount of routines entered, flights to QLD, hotel for 1 week and bus hire. FUNDRAISING OPTIONS AT GRC Being part of a regional club can sometimes add costs especially when travelling for competition that could better supported by fundraising. At GRC we understand this and have made it really simple to cut your costs! Our fundraising body Gold Rush Cheer Athletes Association (GRCAA) will be running a AG meeting soon at the gym (details TBA) and we encourage all interested members to attend where we will also be holding elections for positions on the committee. So if you re interested in fundraising we have it available for all our athletes but it is not compulsory.

10 GRC HOUSE RULES ATHLETE RULES 1. Manners will be remembered at all times, please and thank you go a long way! 2. Athletes must understand that the TEAM comes before the individual. 3. Coaches reserve the right to modify routines as needed, and athletes will be expected to support decisions that are deemed as best for the team. 4. We will only allow skills that have been mastered with proper technique to be competed. This is at the coaches discretion. 5. Absolutely NO jewelry can be worn to practice or competitions. 6. Be punctual and responsible, arrive 15 minutes before class to organize yourself and always be aware of what s up and coming. 7. Must maintain a positive vibe, be hard working and no gossip, pettiness, bullying or alienating will be tolerated what so ever. These continued behaviors are grounds for dismissal from our program. 8. Athletes must treat their coaches, guest instructors, volunteers and admin staff with the utmost respect. We promise to do the same for our athletes. 9. Athletes must communicate with coaches. If you don t tell us you re injured, we may not know! 10. Be aware of your actions inside and outside the gym, you are repenting GRC and will be expected to be a positive role model at all times. POSITIVE PARENT ROLE 1. The Parents Role in the gym is simple support the team and club by supporting your athlete in a positive manner. Be your Child s Cheerleader: Tell them that you re proud of them and that you love them! Leave the kitchen talk outside of the gym 2. Pay all bills in a timely manner. Unfortunately athletes with over-due accounts will be asked to sit out of practice until cleared. 3. The chain of command for parent information is as follows: i. Team Coach ii. Gym Owner Allison 4. Support your athlete s commitment to the team by ensuring they are at practice and following our attendance policy. 5. Stay in the know by upholding your end of communication, yes, that means READING S! 6. Removing cheer is not an acceptable form of punishment as it impacts the entire team. GRC GYM RULES 1. NO GOSSIPING will be tolerated. Please refrain from talking about other athletes, families, coaches, etc, if you have any questions please contact correct gym staff. Let s all work to keep GRC a positive environment. 2. Tidy up after yourself and your children. 3. Parnets/spectators are NOT permitted in the gym to watch classes at any time unless asked by a coach. 4. Our social media policy is as follows: Everyone affiliated with the GRC must refrain from posting negative thoughts about the team, gym, coaches, athletes OR other programs. It s simple we feel that addressing concerns directly, versus on social media, is the only acceptable method. 5. Please leave all valuables at home. We are not responsible for lost or missing items. 6. Permission to use our logo, name, or Gold Rush Cheer related words must be obtained from Allison in writing. No exceptions. 7. Your coaches and staff will always do what they feel is best for the team there is no greater team sport than cheerleading! Routines may be changed, roles may altered but we ask that you understand and support our decisions and if you don t please speak to your coach after the session if you have any questions. We strive to put the most competitive team and routine on the floor that we can, this means we need the whole team on board t achieve that goal! 8. Safety is our number one concern. All our staff have obtained USASF credentials, working with childrens check and first aid certificates. 9. Good sportsmanship is the only way to go! 12 GOLD RUSH CHEER 2018 AGREEMENT ATHLETES I understand that I have made a commitment to my team for I will attend all training sessions, competitions (If applicable), team workshops and camps that are compulsory to attend. I will give 100% at all times as I value my spot on the team with great honour while also valuing being a part of GRC. I will respect my coach and team memberês at all times. I will support and encourage my team memberês with a positive attitude. I understand that GRC has a no tolerance policy on bullying or what is considered poor behaviour and realise that there are severe consequences associated with such behaviour (addressed in the GRC handbook). I understand that team classes are mandatory in attendance to every session at the risk of losing my position on the team. PARENTS I have read the GOLD RUSH CHEER Rules and Regulations handbook in its entirety and understand its contents. I understand the responsibility my child is undertaking by becoming an GRC member. I agree to fully support my child and will encourage them to fulfill their commitment. I also understand that by signing this contract I agree that my childês participation in this program is not to be used as a form of punishment as I realise it also punishes their team and the entire GOLD RUSH CHEER program. Furthermore, I understand that being an GRC member is a commitment as a parent as well. I realise that when representing GRC I must always conduct myself with a positive sportsmanship like manner. 15 Customer Direct Debit Request (DDR) Service Agreement This is your Direct Debit Service Agreement with GOLD RUSH CHEER (314011) It explains what your obligations are when undertaking a Direct Debit arrangement with us. It also details what our obligations are to you as your Direct Debit provider. Please keep this agreement for future reference. It forms part of the terms and conditions of your Direct Debit Request (DDR) and should be read in conjunction with your DDR authorisation. How to Contact Us Enquiries You can contact us directly or alternatively contact your financial institution. These should be made at least 7 working days prior to the next scheduled drawing date. 16 By signing a Direct Debit Request or by providing us with a valid instruction, you have authorised us to arrange for funds to be debited from your account. You should refer to the Direct Debit Request and this agreement for the terms of the arrangement between us and you. We will only arrange for funds to be debited from your account as authorised in the Direct Debit Request. or We will only arrange for funds to be debited from your account if we have sent to the address nominated by you in the Direct Debit Request, a billing advice which specifies the amount payable by you to us and when it is due. If the debit day falls on a day that is not a banking day, we may direct your financial institution to debit your account on the following banking day. If you are unsure about which day your account has or will be debited you should ask your financial institution. We may vary any details of this agreement or a Direct Debit Request at any time by giving you at least fourteen (14) days written notice. 17 If you believe that there has been an error in debiting your account, you should notify us directly on and confirm that notice in writing with us as soon as possible so that we can resolve your query more quickly. Alternatively you can take it up directly with your financial institution. If we conclude as a result of our investigations that your account has been incorrectly debited we will respond to your query by arranging for your financial institution to adjust your account (including interest and charges) accordingly. We will also notify you in writing of the amount by which your account has been adjusted. If we conclude as a result of our investigations that your account has not been incorrectly debited we will respond to your query by providing you with reasons and any evidence for this finding in writing. You should check: Dispute Accounts with your financial institution whether direct debiting is available from your account as direct debiting is not available on all accounts offered by financial institutions. your account details which you have provided to us are correct by checking them against a recent account statement; and with your financial institution before completing the Direct Debit Request if you have any queries about how to complete the Direct Debit Request. Confidentiality We will keep any information (including your account details) in your Direct Debit Request confidential. We will make reasonable efforts to keep any such information that we have about you secure and to ensure that any of our employees or agents who have access to information about you do not make any unauthorised use, modification, reproduction or disclosure of that information. We will only disclose information that we have about you: to the extent specifically required by law; or for the purposes of this agreement (including disclosing information in connection with any query or claim).
