A part of us remains childlike when seeing all the decorations up, hearing the carols, and tasting the sweets that seem to be offered around every turn. Of course, there is something extra special about seeing this time of year through the eyes of a child whether it s your own kids, grandchildren, or even the little ones you see wide-eyed at the mall. This year I will spend my first Christmas as a dad, and I can t wait to see the twinkling lights reflecting in little Grant s eyes. While he might be too young to be fully aware of what s going on, we are starting the traditions that will stay with him for a lifetime, and that is pretty exciting! I m so happy that our Cherished Teddies figurines are part of those very traditions for so many of you. 18 The Cherished Teddies Kitchen This recipe might seem familiar to you perhaps your mother or grandmother made it as a special treat. We added red and green sprinkles to make it the perfect sweet addition to your holiday get-togethers. Festive Marshmallow Squares - ½ cup butter - 1 cup peanut butter - 2 cups butterscotch chips cups mini marshmallows - red and green sprinkles 1. Thoroughly grease a 8 x 12 baking pan or line with parchment paper 2. In a medium sized pot, melt butter, peanut butter and butterscotch chips over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool about 1 minute. 3. Add marshmallows and quickly stir just until the marshmallows are completely coated. Quickly pour into the baking pan, using a spatula to level the mixture. 4. Add desired amount of sprinkles to the top and refrigerate Framed Flat Ornaments This super easy Christmas decoration looks great hung on a wall or placed behind your favorite Christmasthemed Cherished Teddies figurines! Best of all, all supplies can be found at your local dollar store. - Frame - Wrapping Paper - Sparkly flat ornament - Glue or glue dots 1. Cut wrapping paper to fit inside the frame, behind the glass. 2. Put frame back together. 3. Cut string from ornament and glue to outside of glass, centering it in the frame. Page 18
