2016 Summer Parent Information Packet (Digital Copy)
2016 Summer Parent Info Packet: Mission: Our mission is to provide our players with a program that not only gives them exposure to colleges but also works on the development of each member to become a better baseball player and a better person off the field! As a staff we dedicate ourselves to helping our players maximize their own strengths and talents while offering an environment that is meaningful, genuine and fun. Because we have practiced these efforts, Over 350 players have committed to play college baseball since Communication: If you have questions regarding The Elite Squad please contact us via . You can find the s for our regional directors and age group directors by going on our website, clicking the Staff link on the top left corner. By visiting our web site you will get the latest information on schedules, rosters, game recaps and weather updates etc. Players will be given their coaches phone number to be able to keep an open line of communication in case of emergencies. Rosters: The Elite Squad roster structure provides is intended maximum exposure for each player participating. Because of us reducing the roster size it is vital we have all players in attendance for each one of our events, tournaments, games and practices. We like to stick to hitters per roster. Most tournaments allow you to hit up to 11 if the coach choses. By taking 12 hitters it allows us the flexibility to have enough guys if players have to miss games for a showcase, college camp etc without hurting the team. *please note that although we are strict with this format exceptions are made in special cases. Games and Practices: This summer we have added more tournaments than ever before to gain even more exposure from colleges and pro scouts for our players. By adding more tournaments this summer it will limit the time we have in between events. We will hold practices in between these events to work with our players in certain areas of their game. It is vital that they attend these practices. We will use practice more this year than scrimmage games because of the heavy load of tournament games to create a good balance of games and proper rest. We do not want our players to be burnt out halfway through the summer because of a lack of rest. Our players need to be at 100 % while these school are looking at them during tournaments. Practices: Each Elite Squad Team will practice as a team. Practices will vary depending on the teams schedule, games, tournaments, etc. All players are required to attend practices when they are scheduled.
Tournaments: At Elite Squad Baseball we will participate in National Tournaments as well as attending the very best events in Florida in terms of college recruiters and pro scouts. Because of our reputation and standing with other nationally recognized organizations we are often getting invited to participate in some of the country s best and most prestigious tournaments and events. The tournaments that we will attend are those that we feel will benefit our boys by both competition and exposure. Uniforms and Merchandise: All Elite Squad Baseball players will receive 2 Game Jerseys, 2 Pairs of Pants (option to buy more) Fitted hats as well as a Louisville Slugger package that contains a bat pack, batting gloves arm sleeve and custom Elite Squad shirt. We will be working with Louisville Slugger to come up with additional player packages where players can purchase items at discounted rates. Those items will include the latest in Louisville Slugger Products. Hotel Information: This year the parents and players are responsible for their own hotel arrangements for tournaments. We have done research and in the past by us including the cost of hotel rooms for players & parents attending these tournaments end up paying an extra fourth or third for their son to stay with their teammates. If a parent is going to be unable to attend an away tournament over the summer, we will have an option for players /parents can purchase rooms with another player in the same situation and will be monitored by the coaching staff. *We are currently working on a platform similar to pricline, expedia etc only for Elite Squad parents that will allow you to earn points for travel and something you can use all year round. Even for personal travel. Parent meeting: We will have an organizational meeting in late January or early Febuary for everyone that is officially invited and accepted to play with us in the summer of 2016 to go over even more details about our summer circuit, schedule, recruiting, fan gear etc.
Player Fees: Although the landscape of travel baseball has become more and more expensive with the increases in Tournament fee s, Field Rentals, Equipment etc. We have been able to keep our players fee s relatively the same since 2010 (7 seasons) with the help of partnerships with Louisville Slugger, Perfect Game etc. With the help from these nationally recognized companies, we have been able to add more tournaments/events and merchandise benefiting the players while keeping the cost the same since the beginning stages of our organization. This year, we are limiting our rosters even more to provide maximum exposure. The total cost for the 2016 Summer is as follows: $1,500 for Position Players $1,300 for Pitcher Only (PO) There are two options regarding payment: You can pay upfront in one shot. Those that pay upfront get priority to selecting their numbers before anyone. Or you can break it down into payments. Here s how the breakdown works: $200 Deposit due upon invitation $325 or 275 (PO) Due Jan $325 or 275 (PO) Due Feb $325 or 275 (PO) Due March $325 or 275 (PO) Due April Please note that you are already receiving a $100 credit if you are selected from our prospect camp. Those chosen from our make up tryout or non camp attendee s fees are $1600 and $1400 (PO). Selection Process: The selection process is a tedious one for all of the coaches involved trying to choose from such a large talent pool. We will try and inform everyone if they have made the team or not by January 1st, 2015 from our prospect camp. Then move on to our make up tryouts. In between that time our coaches meet face to face several times to go through the selection process of choosing who we feel are the right players out of the trying out.
Perfect Game World Series: Something new and very exciting that we are doing this year is leaving our rosters open for the PG World Series. Players selected from this event will be our most standout players from the early-middle parts of the summer. Based on age NOT graduation year for the first time in our organization. Those familiar with our organization will tell you that we do our rosters based on graduation year for recruiting purposes. For this one tournament we are throwing it out of the window and going to with the very best players that qualify for that age group no matter the Elite Squad team they played for this summer. This puts an exciting twist on things and opens the roster up to every single player in our program not just picking one team to go. Schedules: It s too early to have definitive dates as organizations are putting them together but here is a mock schedule of the tournaments our teams will be attending. One thing we take pride in is having all of our teams compete in the same tournaments and allow each one of our players the same amount of exposure opportunities as the next. To give you an example here is what you can expect from our schedule (please note these dates may be off by a day or so but we will have them corrected by January): Date Organization Event Ages Location 5/22-5/25 Perfect Game Perfect Game Memorial Day All Fort Myers, FL 6/5-6/10 Florida Scout Ball Vero Beach Classic All Vero Beach, FL 6/10-6/15 Florida Scout Ball Mizuno Tournament 17u Kissimmee 6/17-6/21 Florida Scout Ball Mizuno Tournament 16u Kissimmee 6/19-6/25 Pefect Game 15u BCS 15u Fort Myers, FL 6/19-6/26 Perfect Game WWBA 14u Championships 14u Emerson, GA 6/25-7/1 Perfect Game 16u BCS 16u Fort Myers, FL 6/25-6/30 Florida Scout Ball Scorpions Invitational TBA Orlando, FL 6/27-7/1 Perfect Game 14u Florida State Championships 14u Fort Myers, FL 7/1-7/7 Perfect Game 14u BCS Finals 14u Fort Myers, FL 7/3-7/10 Perfect Game WWBA 17u Championship 17u Emerson, GA 7/10-7/17 Perfect Game WWBA 16u Championship 16u Emerson, GA 7/10-7/14 Perfect Game 15u Florida State Championship 15u Fort Myers, FL 7/11-7/17 Perfect Game 17u BCS 17u Fort Myers, FL 7/17-7/21 Perfect Game 17u Florida State Finals 17u Fort Myers, FL 7/17-7/21 Perfect Game 17u World Series 17u Goodyear, AZ 7/17-7/24 Perfect Game 15u WWBA Championship 15u Emerson, GA 7/24-/28 Perfect Game 16u PG World Series 16u Emerson, GA 7/24-/28 Perfect Game 14u PG World Series 14u Emerson, GA 7/24-/28 Perfect Game 15u PG World Series 15u Emerson, GA 7/29-8/2 Perfect Game 16u Florida State Finals 16u Fort Myers, FL 7/21-7/24 Florida Scout Ball Pennant Invite Sarasota, FL
