3 I would like to welcome everyone to the 106th Open Tournament at the Rock Park International Greens. Thank you all for your support and may I wish you every success during the week. Although entries are down this year, I know that you will all enjoy playing on the best greens in Wales, prepared for you by our expert Steve Smith. A special thank you to our Tournament Secretary John Rees for collecting your entries, to Shirley King for her assistance in compiling the playing schedule and for bringing it all together in this Programme. To our sponsors and patrons a special thank you for your continued support which is greatly appreciated. To the Umpires and markers our sincere thanks for your essential part in ensuring the smooth running of the competitions throughout the week. To the committee, bar staf, and our resident caterer Kevin we thank you for all your hard work and support during the week. Keep an eye open for our social events in the evenings during the week and please enjoy your stay with us. 5 Conditions of Play These conditions of play should be read by all players taking part in the tournament. 1. All games will be played under the World Bowls Rules Crystal mark edition. 2. All players must report to the tournament secretary and be on their rinks at the scheduled time. If any player fails to appear within 10 minutes of the time stated in the programme the game will be awarded to their opponent. 3. Red and Blue stickers will be issue for every game which players will be expected to put on their bowls. 4. No substitutes will be allowed in any of the singles. 5. One substitute will be allowed in the Pairs and Triples provided the tournament secretary is informed 1 hour before the scheduled time for the game. 6. No player will be allowed to scratch an entry in order to play in another combination in the same competition. 7. A marker will be appointed for each game, who will keep the score and answer any queries. 8. All singles losers are expected to mark the next round. 9. All singles will be 21 shots up. Pairs and triples will be as stated on the competition page for the earlier rounds. 10.One trial end each way will be allowed before every singles and pairs game, unless otherwise agreed with your opponents. 11.An Umpire will be appointed for each day and their decision shall be fnal and binding. 12.In the event of inclement weather, the green keeper, along with the committee will decide if play will need to be suspended and if ground sheets are required for use in accordance with law

6 13.If you are withdrawing from the competition before the start, you should inform the tournament secretary on Your place will then be ofered to a late entry which is on a list of reserves with the Secretary. If you are unable to continue in the competition you must inform the tournament secretary on Every endeavour will be made to adhere to the times in the programme, but the committee reserves the right to alter the times if it is deemed necessary. 15.All Trophies will be held for one year only and must be returned engraved, and in good condition for the following year s tournament. 16.It is hoped that all winners and runners up will wear their whites for the presentation of prizes. 17.Dress: Greys for all rounds, except Semi-fnals and Finals, which will be whites. Tops will be white, but club or county tops may be worn, provided that all participants in a combination are wearing the same colour.
