[Activity 1] A story sack is a large bag containing supporting materials to stimulate activities and make reading a memorable and enjoyable experience. Make a story sack using any eco-friendly material like cloth, jute or paper. It should have the following : CONTENTS OF STORY SACK Choose any two items given below to make your story sack 1. story wheel and CD 2. pocket dictionary 3. hand puppet 2
3 Getting Started!!! 1. Story wheel and CD Make a story wheel to paraphrase the story into eight parts. Follow the instructions given: Cut an A4 coloured sheet in the shape of a wheel. Write the title of the book read in the centre of the wheel Number each section of the wheel from 1-8 as shown in the figure. Sequence the events from the story read and write them in the numbered sections U se these sequenced events of the story to make a power point presentation of the book read by you. Make it look good with images and pictures. Burn it in a CD Remember that each event must be represented in one slide. Best CDs will be played during the Book week. 3
4 2. Pocket Dictionary Make a pocket dictionary of a maximum of 20 new words learnt while reading the book. You can use white or light coloured sheets for the same. 3. The students of a school generally have the following Rights to receive wholesome education. to be provided with a safe and secure classroom environment. to be heard and given the opportunity to express their opinions. to be provided with the basic necessities in the school. to have a fair and a caring environment. to have friendships and to work cooperatively with others. Please note that for every Right mentioned above, you have a Duty to perform. 16
