1 THE 2nd ANNUAL ICE DANCE WEEKEND THAT WENT WITH THE BREEZE (Apologies to Margaret Mitchell and Carol Burnett) July 11-13, 2008, Alpharetta, GA Continuing the tradition begun at last year s inaugural ice dance weekend, the Atlanta FSC is pleased to host the second annual Ice Dance Weekend at in Alpharetta, GA. The weekend is designed to promote ice dancing, provide quality instruction, and have fun! On Saturday and Sunday, the agenda will include two levels of ice dance clinics and two sessions of ballroom dance clinics as well as instruction on Friday evening and on Saturday at an anti-bellum dinner dance. ELIGIBILITY The Ice Dance Weekend is open to all ice dancers and anyone who simply loves the sport. U.S. Figure Skating membership is not required to participate. INSTRUCTORS Graham Payne Graham Payne is a former British Senior national and international ice dance competitor and a national and world competition coach. He has been coaching for 30 years, is a member of the PSA, and is the resident ice dance coach at. Kim Turner Kim Turner began skating at age eight and ice dancing at age 11. She attended ice dance weekends for several years, earned her pre-gold medal, then followed her dream and took a six-week course at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio where she taught for four years before striking out on her own as an independent contractor. She has been teaching professionally for 12 years, focusing on ballroom, Latin, country, and swing and has done several country and ballroom competitions with students in Pro/Am events. She holds top teacher awards at the Heart of America competition in Kansas City as well as other NDCA sanctioned ballroom/latin dance competitions. RULES The schedule is subject to change. In the event of low enrollment, the weekend may be revised or cancelled. Appropriate attire must be worn at all times. ENTRIES/FEES All registration forms and payment must be received by July 1. A $10.00 late fee will be assessed for entries received after this date. Skaters must return the signed liability waiver in order to participate. Refunds for withdrawals after July 5 will be administered at the discretion of the Atlanta FSC event chair. FACILITIES is a privately-owned multi-sport facility located at Davis Drive in Alpharetta, GA. The home rink of the Atlanta FSC for eight years, it has two ice surfaces (200 x 85 with rounded corners and hockey barriers), ample parking, dressing rooms, and a snack bar.

Travel East on N. Terminal Pkwy. Toward Camp Creek Pkwy (1.0 mile). 2. Merge onto I-85 North toward I-75 North/Atlanta (11.6 miles) 3. Keep LEFT to take I-85North/GA 403 North via Exit 251 toward GA 400/ Greenville (2.7 miles). 4. Keep RIGHT to take GA-400 N (toll) via EXIT 87 toward BUCKHEAD / CUMMING (16.0 miles). 5. Proceed North on GA 400 and exit at Mansell Rd (Exit 8). Turn left at the end of the exit ramp and proceed to the second traffic light (Davis Dr.). Turn right at that traffic light and follow the road for about 100 yards. is located on the left hand side of the street. Rail Transport from the airport Atlanta s rail transportation system is located at the west entrance of the terminal complex, near other ground transportation services. MARTA trains arrive and depart from the airport every eight minutes. The cost is $1.75. Take the North/South line to the North Springs exit, and advise event organizer John Richardson if you wish to be picked up. There is a softball tournament in the area on this weekend so we urge you to make your reservations before the July 1 deadline. 3 The pleasure of your company is requested at the Ice Dance Weekend Dinner Dance Supper at the Roswell Doubletree Hotel Barrington Room Saturday. July 12, :00 pm - Midnight Ante-bellum attire The Saturday evening dinner dance will be held at the Doubletree Hotel just off GA 400. The address is 1075 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA. The theme for the dinner dance is Supper at the Olde Magnolia Plantation. Ladies are encouraged to create Scarlett O Hara or Miss Melanie style bonnets or sun hats to wear to dinner. Gentlemen may wear brightly colored vests. All y all are discouraged from real old southern style costumes as dancing in them is difficult, and packing a hoop skirt in your luggage is tricky! Music will be provided by a local DJ with additional music from our ballroom dance instructor Kim Turner. Directions to the Doubletree Hotel 1075 Holcomb Bridge Rd. 5 AREA ATTRACTIONS There are numerous restaurants in the surrounding area, including North Point Mall, located minutes from the rink. Within easy driving distance are the old squares of Alpharetta, Marietta, and Roswell with their historic landmarks, restaurants, and antique shops. For the more adventuresome, the city of Atlanta offers its world-class new Georgia aquarium, the new World of Coca-Cola museum, the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Zoo, the Puppetry Center, and several 19th century restored neighborhoods. Skater s Release and Indemnity Agreement The skater and skater s family hereby release, waive, and covenant not to sue Alpharetta Family Skate Centers, LLC (), John Richardson, and the Atlanta Figure Skating Club for all claims for personal injury and/or damage or loss of property arising from or related to the Ice Dance Weekend. In consideration of acceptance of this application, we hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless all personnel associated with this clinic to include Alpharetta Family Skate Centers, LLC (), John Richardson, the Atlanta Figure Skating Club, Inc., directors, officers, volunteers, the Ice Dance Weekend coaching staff, their agents, employees, representatives, and assigns for any and all suits, claims, and demands of any kind for personal injuries, property losses, damage, or accidents that I (we) may sustain while participating in this event. I (We) also intend that this waiver and release apply to any relatives, personal representatives, heirs, next of kin, beneficiaries, or assigns who might pursue any legal action or claim for such liability, injury, loss or damage. I have read this RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it and have signed it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.
