I hope you enjoy Welwyn Rugby Club, one of the most hospitable you will find. 76 To the Hertfordshire team, a close match last week, kicks telling in the end. As often happens when young men of this age group start to discover the wider world, availability and selection becomes an issue. To those who take the field, wear your shirt with pride and play for the team. Representative Rugby is on a constant move forward as this season shows with the introduction of the Women s County Championship, A re-vamped U20 County Championship and the change at U16 level with the removal of divisional rugby and the introduction of regional academies. The developing player programme continues to evolve with over 200 players across the U13 - U15 age groups attending monthly sessions. These sessions include specific input on strength & conditioning as well as class room sessions covering lifestyle, rugby etc as well as time out on the training pitch. Our working partnership with Saracens Academy goes from strength to strength. Don Barrell, Rory Teague, Ian Vass & Jimmy Tirrell are very supportive of what we are doing in Herts. We still continue to set the standards for other counties to aspire to by building on all the hard work and effort put in by my predecessor Tim Bonnett. Enjoy your day. 6 TEAM MANAGER NOTES On behalf of the Hertfordshire U18 coaching team and players I would like to welcome all the players, officials and supporters from Hampshire. Despite the pressure of it being an assessed match, the main objective of the day is that both teams and supporters portray all that is good about the game - Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. This seasons Hertfordshire squad is an equal mix of U17s and U18s, the relatively high number of youngsters in the squad is testament to the belief in the players over the two year U18 programme.
