12 POSSIBLE COLABORATION & PARTICIPATION c) Cage Culture of Tropical Marine Fish: Scope Indigenous marine fish species of Seabass, Etroplus suratensis, Chanus chanus can be cultured Cage culture can rehabilitate the Affected Fishermen due to conservation measures Estimated loss of income of affected 8070 active fulltime fishermen Rs crores per annum loss of income for affected fishermen (both part-time/ full-time) Rs crores Subsistence requirement for these affected fishermen calculated to be Rs crores per annum can be obviated through alternative fisheries linked livelihood
