Vandalism at the lake. Regrettably, vandalism occurred to multiple boats this year in all the dock areas. Some were damaged worse than others, most had batteries stolen.

4 Vandalism at the lake. Regrettably, vandalism occurred to multiple boats this year in all the dock areas. Some were damaged worse than others, most had batteries stolen. In addition, some large pieces of equipment around the lake also had batteries stolen. Boat owners didn t notice the damage at the same time it was difficult to pinpoint if this had occurred in one night or over several nights. In response, we reached out to the sheriff s office. They agreed to do increased patrols at the lake. Our security patrols also increased while the lake manager and board members were patrolling at various times of the late night and early mornings. Lake security also maintained full patrols up until all the boats were out of the water. Lastly, some trail cams were deployed in an effort to catch someone stealing. During the increased security, no additional vandalism occurred but we never were able to catch the thieves. The board has also approved the installation of permanent cameras in all areas. This is a challenge because the areas are large and the infrastructure is a challenge. Brian has begun the installation process, and we hope all areas will be completed by Spring. Without volunteers, the Easter Egg Hunt, Chicken BBQ s and Halloween party would not happen. With that being said if anyone would like to help with any lake events in the coming year please contact the office. With winter upon us, I would like to remind everyone to drive carefully. Unfortunately, with the uneven roads when we plow it does not remove all of the snow. We try to use as little salt as possible due to the damage it causes to the roads in the spring. For the past three years, we have used our road budget to add base and reshape the roads. This process is very costly. So, we can only do a few roads each year due to our budget. The increases in the assessments the past few years have been used to increase our road budget. This will help us to get the roads repaired faster and help maintain them once the repairs have been made. Happy Holidays, Brian Mellor

The LBPOA Board does not like to raise assessments every year but until a few years ago we operated on a break-even basis every year.

6 FROM THE DESK OF LBPOA TREASURER Lake Buckhorn will end our fiscal year (March 31,1019) with a bank balance of approximately $300,000.00, it sounds like a lot of excess but is really not when considering it will cost $ to redo Buckhorn Drive. Our annual budget for road repairs is $ spending this puts a strain on other much needed improvements here at Lake Buckhorn. The LBPOA Board does not like to raise assessments every year but until a few years ago we operated on a break-even basis every year. Brian has been very diligent about watching the budget and helping to save money wherever he can. Living at Lake Buckhorn is a bargain for $75 a month compare our assessments to other lakes. Hideaway Hills for example their membership dues are over $8,000 and assessments are $2,200 a year. A dock rental at Pleasant Hill for a season is $765.00, we have a great lake so please understand that we are just trying to give our members a good value for their investment in us.

FISH STOCKING LAKE BUCKHORN 2018 Lake Buckhorn has a vibrant stocking program for multiple species of fish.

To the best of our ability, we have tried to record what was stocked from 1998 to present. The board has always made a commitment to stocking.

However, the key for the past few years has been the willingness of the stocking committee to provide regular chicken cook outs for the members.

Through the hard work of this committee, an additional $6400.00 was raised for stocking in 2018.

8 FISH STOCKING LAKE BUCKHORN 2018 Lake Buckhorn has a vibrant stocking program for multiple species of fish. Hopefully, you were able to catch a few this year. In 2018, you will note the Northwest pond was stocked with 150 channel cats. The main lake stocking included 1300 walleyes 7-9 inches, 1500 crappies 4-6 inches, 1500 perch 4-6 inches, 80 pounds of fat heads (8000), and 40 pike. The committee does not plan to add additional pike in the near future. If you have pictures to share of the great catches here at Lake Buckhorn, please share them with the office.
