5 Golf with Desert Gate 1 6 Al Badia Golf Club 18 holes - Dubai Designed by Robert Trent Jones II The course was designed on an oasis theme and features abundant water, rivers of sand and plants indigenous to the Arabian Gulf. 11 lakes, several smaller streams and Rivers of Sand make it an interesting challenge. Arabian Ranches Golf Club - 18 holes - Dubai Designed by Ian Baker-Finch 3 various other holes. Emirates Golf Club - The Majlis - 18 holes - Dubai Designed by Karl Liten With imposing fairways and large, immaculate greens, the course provides a formidable challenge for any golfer. The lush fairways bend into doglegs, switch direction and wind around the six lakes throughout this course, creating obstacles for nine of the holes. 7 Jumeirah Golf Estates - The Earth - 18 holes Dubai Designed by Greg Norman The Earth course is a parkland style golf course with Sand belt style bunkers and large greens. The rolling fairways and brilliant white bunkering are framed by a plethora of trees and shrubs. The last 4 holes play alongside or over water. The Earth Course is the venue for the home to the DP World Tour Championship, the season ending tournament on the European Tour. 2 First true desert course in the city. With no water hazards to face, players tackle the elements and one enormous twisting bunker - the desert itself. A challenge for golfers of all abilities, miss the immaculate grass of the fairways and greens and you enter the sandy waste, which makes the most of the natural terrain with its indigenous shrubs and bushes. Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club - 18 holes - Dubai Designed by European Golf Design, with Thomas Bjorn Based in the heart of the city, on the shores of the creek, the Dubai Creek is one of the lag ship courses in the area. The fairways wind through coconut palms, water hazards and shrubbery. Several artificial lakes add to the beauty and difficulty of 3 Emirates Golf Club - The Faldo - 18 holes - Dubai Designed by Nick Faldo A natural Wadi running the length of the course comes in to play with the naturally rugged terrain to create a unique golfing experience. Large greens are protected by lakes and daunting bunkers. The only 18 hole floodlit course in the middle east. Jebel Ali Golf Club - 9 holes - Dubai Designed by Peter Harradine The 9-hole championship course is situated within the idyllic grounds of the resort. Each hole is uniquely landscaped with exotic trees, shrubs and original desert flora with a saltwater lake which comes into play on live holes. 7 5 Jumeirah Golf Estates - The Fire - 18 holes - Dubai Designed by Greg Norman The undulating topography, with its considerable protrusions, creates a more challenging level of play. Rustic, the Fire course demands a wellthought-out strategy. Going directly at the lag may not always be the best approach, which gives Fire a strong sense of classic links-style play. The Els Golf Club - 18 holes - Dubai Designed by Ernie Els The Ernie Els signature course is spread out on a stretch of 7,538 yards and comprises of 81 bunkers. The course provides the player with undulating «links land» style fairways with generous landing areas which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Although large in size, the greens can be very misleading. 81 bunkers and 14 lakes. The Track Meydan Golf Club - 9 holes - Dubai Designed by Peter Harradine The Track golf course measures 7412 yards of the Black championship tees, but with four other varying tee boxes this allows every ability of golfer a chance to play and enjoy the experience of Meydan Golf. Renowned golf course architect Peter Harradine strategically placed each hole allowing the six natural lakes on the course to come into play on several approaches challenging bunkers. Running alongside a six-kilo metre stretch of white beach, it is a 7,342 yard course of lush green grass peppered with bunkers, water hazards and natural dunes.
