1 Welcome to the 2011 BC Senior Games! The games are open to anyone who will be 55 years old in 2011 unless specified. (5k run/walk is open to all ages) Everyone must fill out a registration form & pay the $12.00 fee. This fee covers all events (except the 5k run/walk, golf & bowling, they have an extra charge, see registration form). All participants that pay the registration fee will receive one Senior Games shirt. Gender and Age Categories: Golf (regular) is divided by age categories in five-year increments and gender categories. Bowling, horseshoes, captain and mate golf, age brackets are determined by average age of pair. Team events are divided as: Basketball - Age group by teams and 60 + Softball Men s 55+, 65+ and 70+ (follow league rules on eligibility) Volleyball Competitive 55-59, 60-64, & 65+ Volleyball Recreational No age category Each team will be placed into the age category of the youngest participant. There is a non-refundable $25 team fee for softball (55, 65 and 70). We reserve the right to change age categories & format based on participant numbers. You will not be sent a confirmation. Sorry, no refunds. Anyone needing directions to any site please call, Softball captains will receive a separate roster sheet & rules packet. All other captains please call for a roster sheet. 2 5k Run/Walk Thursday, September 1 Register 5-5:45 pm at the Upper Pavilion at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton. Race starts at 6:00 pm There is an additional charge of $3 per person with race shirt if registered before August 22 and an additional charge of $6 without race shirt if registered after August 22 and on Race Day. There will be no handicaps. Disc Golf Monday, September 19 (Rain date: September 23) Play starts at 9:30 am at the Floyd L. Maines Community Center at 942 Conklin Road in Conklin entries. No partner needed. (Ely Park members pay $16) Included: Greens fee, cart, a spiedie sandwich & soda, and prizes in each division. Age bracket is determined by the average age of the pair. We will take foursome requests, see the registration form. Anyone not requesting a foursome will be assigned to one. Deadline: September 2 Golf Individual Play Monday, September 26 (Rain date: September 28) Shot gun start at 9:30 am at the Ely Park Golf Course in Binghamton There is an additional charge of $30 per person for golf (Ely Park members pay $16) Included: Greens fee, cart, a spiedie sandwich & soda, and prizes in each division. Format will be one game to 15 points, double elimination. Deadline: September 1 Men & Women s Tennis Doubles Clay Courts Men s Wednesday, September 21 Women s Thursday, September 22 (Rain date: September 23) Start Time: 9:00 am at the Binghamton Tennis Center on Mill Street Format: Men double elimination, women single elimination. All rounds will be played to 6 game sets with 7 th point tie breaker. Split sets add 10 point tie breaker. No add scoring. Age groups will be dependent on the number of entries and all will be established by the committee. Bring your racket, balls supplied. Deadline: September 2 Volleyball- Recreational Tuesday, October 18 Play starts at 9:00 am at the Boys & Girls Club of Western Broome in Endicott No more than two players from the competitive division can play on the same recreational team. Senior Games Offers FREE Bowling and Disc Golf Clinics! All the necessary equipment and experienced instructors will be on site to help you learn how to play each sport safely! Bowling Clinic: Tuesday, August 9 at 1 pm Midway Lanes in Vestal Disc Golf Clinic: Friday, August 19 from 9 am 1 pm Center Court of the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City Each clinic welcomes both beginners and people who just want to brush up on their skills. You will learn the rules and techniques of the games and have FUN playing. Registration is required and space is limited so call early to reserve your spot
