5 A B O U T Y O U R P R O G R A M C O U R S E S T R U C T U R E This industry based PGA endorsed qualification has been recently updated to include a responsible service of gaming/gambling (RSG) certificate. We ensure there are annual improvements to the Diploma of Golf Management The Diploma has been specifically written for the golf sector and is a truly unique product for the golf industry. The qualification comprises 17 core units of competency and a further 7 elective units of competency depending on your mode of study The units have been clustered into the following 6 broad areas of study. Further information is attached at the rear of this prospectus: Golf Course Design and Maintenance Golf Operations Introduction to the Golf Industry Golf Course Planning & Development Golf Club Management Practical Golf Skills Development Event & Catering Management P R A C T I C A L G O L F E L E M E N T Your average semester will include: 2-2 hour weekly group training sessions. 2-1/2hr one-on-one coaching sessions. A compulsory weekly competition. Prizes and merit points are awarded. Compulsory weekly driving range practice. E N R O L M E N T P E R I O D S We currently have 2 intake/enrolment periods per year. * please see the our Sydney campus prospectus with ICMS for intakes in NSW. February Intake 32 teaching weeks in total with up to 5 weeks of holiday periods. A graduation ceremony will be held in November. Assessment may take a variety of forms including written, observation, tests, assignments and verbal questioning. Assessment outcomes will be either competent or not yet competent. Tertiary grades are also provided for those seeking a higher education qualification pathway at University level. GOLF LINK ACCESS D E L I V E R Y P A R T N E R Whilst on the Gold Coast we use the Currumbin RSL College (CRC) via Ignite Education (RTO No: 5897) to deliver the Responsible Service of Alcohol component of the study program - Unit Code: SITHFAB009A and to provide the Responsible Gambling Services component - Gaming Unit code: SITHGAM006A. Students will receive a Statement of Attainment from Ignite upon successful completion of these units of competency. The PGA IGI has been granted special Golf Link access allowing us to enter golf results faster and more efficiently than ever before. Golf Link is the premier golf handicap network, whereby all players can track their scores and up to date handicaps on-line.

6 P R O G R A M I N F O R M A T I O N G O L F C O M P E T I T I O N S C L A S S E S S Students are required to participate in a compulsory weekly event to improve their skills in a competitive environment. Competitions are scheduled as part of the program of study and you are encouraged to participate in other events and Pro-Ams. You are required to maintain an assessable playing diary and statistics sheet for your coach. Our golf competition class is currently held on a Monday from 7.00 am to 12 noon. These weekly competitions are held at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club, and other golf courses in the Gold Coast region. Y O U R T H E O R Y & G O L F C L A S S E S Academic Tuition Your golf business management courses have a general maximum class size of 40. Our Training rooms are provided at SCG&CC at Sanctuary Cove. The rooms are air conditioned and provide an ideal learning environment above the new PGA IGI Office. Theory Class times are from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm ( 3 days per week in semester 1 and 2 days per week in semester 2). D R I V I N G R A N G E P R A C T I CE You will be provided with driving range access keys to a range of your choice including Links Hope Island Golf Driving Range RACV Royal Pines Resort Driving Range & Sanctuary Cove (palms course) Driving Range Parkwood International Driving Range Students are required to maintain a practice diary and undertake a minimum of 4 hours of driving range practice per week. Practice dairies are to be submitted to the Program Development Manager at the end of each month. (during academic semesters). These Keys provide you with half price ball use during the semester. Each Student is provided with 2 keys (as part of tuition fees) per semester. Additionally, you will be able to purchase more keys at the PGA IGI discounted rate. Where practical, some sessions are taught on site at a golf course in order to demonstrate the applied theory in a real world environment. Such examples include Occupational Health & Safety, Course Maintenance and Pro-shop Merchandising. Golf Practical Tuition Your practical tuition classes generally comprise 6-8 students per coach. Golf Coaching is delivered via 2 x 2 hour sessions per week including two 30 minute private lessons each semester. Training venues are currently at the Royal Pines Resort - Mark Gibson s Exceptional Golf Academy, Hope Island Resort and two coaching teams delivering out of Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club that include Mike Jones, Ian Triggs Golf and ANK. If you have a preference for which coaching academy you would like to study at you must notify the PGA IGI in writing at the time of application along with notice of your preferred driving range location. Where possible the PGA IGI will allocate you to the coach of your choice within the coach ratio limits. If you decide to change coaches for any reason (within 2 weeks of the start of semester), you must first notify the PGA IGI in writing and we will undertake our best endeavours to allocate you to another coach. G O L F C O U R S E Students will be provided with a special IGI access membership at the Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club (palms course) on the Gold Coast. Your access membership is provided in 6 monthly intervals comprising the full year, not just the semester of enrolment. 7 O U R T E A C H I N G P R O F E S S I O N A L S M A R K G I B S O N S E X C E P T I O N A L G O L R O Y A L P I N E S R E S O R T Mark Gibson has been a member of the PGA of Australia since He is a Certified PGA of Australia Member (Advanced Coaching) and has been awarded the Australian Teacher of the Year for 1999 & Mark has also been the Winner of the PGA Queensland Teacher of the Year 1999, 2002 and 2006 (Joint winner) He is Queensland Junior Team Coach 2006 and the Gold Coast District Junior Development Coach 2004~2006. Mark has a new golf academy with all the latest technologies, conveniently located at RACV Royal Pines Resort, home of the Australian PGA Championships Mark and his team of teaching professionals provide students with over 50 years of PGA experience in playing, coaching and industry knowledge. C H R I S G I B S O N H E A D T E A C H I N G P R O F E S S I O N A L I N K S H O P E I S L A N D Chris Gibson is a Certified PGA of Australia Member (Advanced Coaching) and has been teaching golf in Australasia for over a decade. He started playing golf as a teenager and after completing his traineeship spent, several successful years on the Australasian circuit. Chris is currently coaching and mentoring several touring professionals on the Australasian and world tours. Drawing knowledge from his own experience, golf mentors, industry professionals, coaching seminars and forums as well as utilising sophisticated digital video and computer analysis equipment, Chris is dedicated to the game of golf, helping all his students play their best and think like a champion. Chris s teaching philosophy focuses on simplicity and longevity in the game, providing help for golfers at all levels. Chris is complimented by Don Fardon, an ex tour player who has turned his skills to coaching and been plying his trade for the last 15 years on the Gold Coast extracting the very best of his students. In Australia, ANK Golf practical skills classes are held at the Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club (Palms Course). ANK Golf comprises of a team of technical and coaching experts with the core coaches for the PGA IGI being Injun Chris Lee, with the support of Ian Triggs. Injun (Chris) Lee Injun (Chris) Lee - Certified PGA of Australia Member (Advanced Coaching) & Korean PGA member. Chris is an alumni and success story of the PGA IGI /Griffith University program and pathway. Becoming a full vocational member of the PGA of Australia in 2008, Chris has worked with many elite players including professionals and amateurs. He specialises in high performance coaching, teaching athletes of all ages, often taking them from beginner to elite players in very short periods of time Chris is familiar with the challenges of international study. His personal experience in overcoming the difficulties of studying whilst at Griffith University and playing as a PGA trainee in a new culture with English as a second language will benefit the IGI international and domestic students alike. Ian Triggs - Certified PGA of Australia Member (Advanced Coaching) Ian brings a significant wealth of knowledge and expertise from the accumulation of more than 30 years experience as a golf coach in Australia and overseas. Having won the QLD Coach of the Year 3 times and the prestigious PGA of Australia Coach of the Year in 2008, Ian is internationally renowned as an elite coach. 10 S U C C E S S S T O R I E S J O B O U T C O M E S Dayanitha Kunesakran - Malaysia Within weeks of graduating, Dayanitha was offered a job at the 63-hole Mines Resort, Malaysia, which was managed by Australian David Townend. Her initial role with the club will be focused on tournament operations, club handicapping and pro shop retail, Townend said. Later on as she develops her confidence in club operations we will be able to expand her role into covering more aspects. James Kim - Korea I ve just scored a job at Emerald Lakes on the Gold Coast and will commence my Professional Year (PY) within the PGA traineeship program in Now I can really see my future, after I earn PGA membership combined with my degree and diploma from IGI I ll have the qualifications to become a head pro and maybe one day work up to become a general manager at a golf club. Shang Guan Yuyang - China..more than anything, I just wanted to learn more about the industry and see and compare the differences between Australia and China. The main difference I ve noticed already is while golf in China is progressing quickly with the fast-growing economy, it lacks a bit in golf education. Out here, Australia has amazing resources for learning the game and I just want to make the most of my time here, learning what I can and studying hard. But what I love about the PGA IGI is the people I get to meet the coaches and trainers are the best. I also get to go out to the golf clubs and meet people within the industry and learn first-hand how they manage their golf business. That s exactly what I want to do, so it s perfect for me.

11 A D M I N I S T R A T O N D E T A I L S G E N E R A L E N T R Y Entry into the program generally requires: The successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent in the Australian schooling system, or relevant work experience if you do not have the minimum education requirements. A golf handicap of 18 or better for males, 25 or better for females is preferred but not essential. PGA IGI recognises the needs of candidates from developing golf markets, therefore we are equitable with our golf skills requirements. Eligibility for an Australian Student Visa. You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of issue of your ecoe. Mature Age Entry f you are over 21 you can apply for entry into this program without meeting formal academic requirements if you have relevant work experience and / or other acceptable qualifications. The PGA IGI will assess each application on a case by case basis. Full-time Course Delivery Our course is taught on a full time basis The program comprises class time with face to face academic tuition, small group work activities and professional golf instruction (if applicable). Golf Handicap Practical Golf Component Where you have established a handicap, you are required to provide evidence via your Golflink number or other original documentary evidence is required from your current / previous golf club to verify your handicap. C O M M E N C E M E N T D A T E S There are two intakes each year with orientation occurring during the following: February (Semester 1), application is required by mid-january. July (Semester 2), application is required by mid-june. Note: Visa processing times vary from 3 weeks to several months depending on your country of origin. The balance of your tuition fee applicable is payable on or before the first day of class. Fee refund policies apply, please refer to your student hand book and fee table in this document. T R A N S P O R T You are required to provide your own transport to and from facilities. Whilst some public transport is available, carrying golf bags on public transport can be difficult. Public transport may not be reliable and due to some early start and late finish times public transport may not be available in some areas. Students have the following options: (we strongly recommend students buy a car) Buy a car - Students should already have a licence prior to arrival. Price range for cars $ (used) $18000 plus (new). It is a very long and expensive process to obtain a new licence in Australia, so the student should have a licence prior to arrival. HomeStay family provides transport - some homestay families will offer transport at an additional cost. Taxi - if accommodation is close to our office at Sanctaury Cove, this may be an option for some students. The cost can vary depending on distance - Taxi s in Australia are not as cheap as taxi costs in may Asian countries. Bus - This is not practical for most of our scheduled classes, some golf classes start at 6.45 am, while night lectures end about 7.00 pm. Car-pool - share cost with another PGA IGI student. A C A D E M I C E X P E C T A T I O N S This course requires a balance between academic effort and golf. Failure in your academic work may affect your selection for golf related events and activities such as the selection to play at the University Golf Challenge at St Andrews each year (For those who are Griffith University students only Years 2 & 3) C O S T S Living costs on the Gold Coast are generally considered to be lower than Australia s other eastern capital cities, the UK and America, however Australia has a high standard of living. The Gold Coast in particular has experienced a boom in terms of domestic growth. In addition to your tuition fees, you will generally need between AUD$17,000 and $25,000 to meet your expenses in a year. This includes accommodation, food, transport and leisure. These are minimal costs, you may require additional funds should you wish to travel or play other golf courses. E X T R A S If you choose to play additional competitions / tournaments you will be required to fund those costs yourself. Should you seek to use a driving range which is not included in your course fees, you will need to fund the purchase of balls yourself. S T U D E N T H E A L T H I N S U R A N C E Student Visa holders are required to maintain heath insurance for their period of stay in Australia. Student health insurance is not included in your tuition fees, you will be required to provide your own health insurance cover. The PGA IGI can assist you with arranging health cover, please enquire via . Please Note: The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) require all holders of a student visa to maintain OSHC during their entire stay in Australia. Student visa condition Maintain OSHC; is a mandatory condition of a student visa. DIAC state, international students who do not maintain their OSHC may have their student visa cancelled. C R E D I T T R A N S F E R F O R P R I O R S T U D Y Please contact our office for our policy on credit transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Credit transfer / RPL will be made available upon application for either part of a course or a whole course depending upon the level of detail supplied. 18 K E Y I N F O R M A T I O N A C C O M M O D A T I O N Currently you may pay approx. $170 / week for Private Board and from $180 / week for a room in a house or unit sharing with other students or members of the community, with use of some facilities, in areas close to the university. Rent is more expensive in areas surrounding and including Surfers Paradise. Most of these units are on the beach, in the heart of the Gold Coast and usually with resort style facilities. The rent is approx $150 / week for a room in a shared apartment and from $300 / week for a 2 bedroom fully furnished unit. Home Stay We are happy to put you in contact with various Homestay companies who can help you arrange for you or your group to be accommodated in Australian households. This provides you with the opportunity to practice English and live with Australian families. Our Homestay is provided by Study In Australia. Student Built Accommodation There are 4 student built accommodation complexes located near Griffith University at Southport. These are privately owned and operated but have been built for students M E D I C A L I S S U E S Where a medical condition exists, we require evidence of a medical examination and clearance by a qualified medical practitioner (at your expense) prior to enrolment. You are required to notify us prior to entry, of any existing medical conditions which may hinder any golf practice and/or participation during your course of study. You also need to report all accidents or injuries to us which may occur during your course of studies. You must allow us to act and assist to arrange any necessary first aid or medical treatment should it be in your best interests and your emergency contact is unable to be located (at your expense). P O L I C I E S To comply with legislative requirements, we have a number of policies and procedures in place. These are outlined in the PGA Student Handbook available at or in paper form available from our office. Privacy Act We are bound by the Privacy Act (1998) which regulates the way we are able to collect, use and disclose personal information. Information is collected on this form and during your enrolment in order to meet our obligations under the ESOS Act and the National Code 2007; to ensure student compliance with the conditions of their visas and their obligations under Australian immigration laws generally. The authority to collect this information is contained in the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, the Education Services for Overseas Students Regulations 2001 and the National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students Information collected about you on this form and during your enrolment can be provided, in certain circumstances, to the Australian Government and designated authorities and, if relevant, the Tuition Assurance Scheme and the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager. In other instances information collected on this form or during your enrolment can be disclosed without your consent where authorised or required by law. Professionalism At all times you are expected to conduct yourself honestly, ethically and in accordance with accepted standards and principles of professional golf conduct. The PGA IGI has a ZERO tolerance level for a lack of professionalism and student misconduct. Complaints & Appeals Policies and procedures are in place to deal with complaints, and appeals, you are encouraged to obtain and read the policies and procedures from our office or on-line at or can be found on your USB drive issued at orientation or in your student handbook provided prior to enrolment. 19 G R A D U A T I O N A N D S U P P O RT O T H E R S T U D E N T S U P P O R T Orientation Orientation is an activity intended to provide you with valuable information and assistance to help you make an effective and efficient transition into your studies and to meet other participants in the program. Attendance at orientation is compulsory. Orientation provides: Information about what you will study and your timetable. Details about PGA IGI staff and support. Tour of the facilities. The opportunity to meet PGA senior staff. The opportunity to meet new friends. Information about your golf coach and their training facilities. Airport Reception You can request an airport reception service from which will meet you at the airport and transport you to your accommodation directly on arrival. You must book this service at least 72 hours prior to your departure or arrival. Learning Support We understand that a change in environment and the pressure of study can be difficult. If anything is preventing you from gaining what you want to achieve or from enjoying your study experience, speaking with a PGA IGI senior staff member is often a very good start to resolving your issues. Studying abroad can be daunting for some students especially if English is not your first language. We encourage all of our students to stay in regular contact with staff members of the PGA IGI to help make the transition into life in Australia as easy as possible. We can offer first hand advice on transport, shopping, entertainment and provide links or contact details for doctors or other service providers. Our weekly golfing events and skills sessions are a great way to interact with people of all nationalities and cultures. Great friendships are often formed during your time with the PGA IGI. G R A D U A T I O N Qualification Award You will be eligible to receive the Diploma of Golf Management (30792QLD), when all units of competency have been successfully completed. If you do not meet all exit requirements for the award, you will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for all units which have been successfully completed. E D U C A T I O N A L P A T H W A Y S University Pathway You may continue your studies in Australia at Griffith University (Gold Coast) or ICMS (Sydney) via our articulation arrangements. New - We can now arrange packaged offers if you intend to complete the Diploma with PGA IGI and then your degree with Griffith University (mid year intake only) or ICMS via the 1+ 2 year educational pathway. Please note that Griffith University and ICMS have approved up to 80 CP of Credit Articulation for PGA IGI Students. However, international students should be aware that they may now have to take ELEC (with GU) course in semester 2 (or summer school) of their study with IGI, If they haven t achieved an IELTS level of 7.0. This will ensure a 2 year study timeline if you choose to complete your study with Griffith University. See the link below for more details. PGA Traineeship Graduates will receive Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) from the PGA of Australia towards completion of the PGA Traineeship upon completion of both the PGA IGI Diploma of Golf management and the Griffith University Bachelor of Business Degree. You will be provided with 2 years credit towards the 3 year PGA Traineeship. Graduates must meet PGA eligibility requirements, see for more information. This is the only recognised course of its kind in Australia which provides a pathway into the PGA of Australia. This can be under an Occupational Trainee or Graduate Visa.

(Submission of an application, does not automatically guarantee a course placement). We reserve the right to refuse entry into any course. B. Attach certified copies of all qualifications including school reports, official examination certificates, English language test results and relevant employment documents. Please ensure that your correct and current name is added to copies obtained under a former name and that certified translations accompany documents that are not in English. Copies can be certified by: the official records department of the institution that originally issued the documents. a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public. An Australian Diplomatic Mission of Australian Education Centre. C. Submit an application form along with the required certified application documentation. D. If you are successful, you will be sent a Letter of Offer explaining the program you have been offered, the fees payable (Fee agreement form and the program commencement date. E. Payment of the program fees and charges should be made in Australian Dollars to the PGA International Golf Institute by bank cheque, international bank draft, direct deposit or telegraphic transfer to the following account (do not send any money until you have read, signed and returned the Letter of offer and Fee Agreement form). C O N D I T I O N S O F E N T R Y Fees No refunds are provided for fees unless you cancel or withdraw in writing from the program prior to commencement. Any overpayment of fees will remain credited towards your account and applied against other charges unless you complete, cancel or withdraw from your program. Should it be necessary for you to repeat a unit, the full amount is payable for that unit. Fees and charges are correct at the time of printing. We reserve the right to vary our fees at any time. All fees, charges and accounts will be payable in advance. You will not be permitted to commence or continue in your program until all outstanding fees, charges and accounts are paid. Late payment penalties apply. We have established mechanisms in which to safeguard payments made in advance by you as follows: all tuition fees paid before the program commences will be deposited into management bank account with the National Australia Bank. Other Conditions You are expected to attend all classes, undertake all tests and examinations and activities during the program and abide by all rules and regulations of the PGA IGI that are in force at any time. In the event of a medical emergency where it is not possible to contact a parent / guardian / emergency contact, the PGA IGI are authorised as a matter of urgency and necessity, to seek and provide appropriate medical care and attention. All contracts between you and the PGA IGI are governed by the Commonwealth of Australia and the State of Queensland. This procedure, and the availability of complaints and appeals processes, does not remove the right of the student to take action under Australia's consumer protection laws. The PGA IGI may by written notice, vary the conditions of enrolment as may be necessary to comply with any law, regulation or amendment thereof under which it operates, either state or federal. Any school aged dependants accompanying International Students to Australia will be required to pay full fees if they are enrolled in either a government or non-government school.

21 R E F U N D P O L I C Y F E E R E F U N D P O L I C Y If you accept a place offered by the PGA IGI and you pay the fees, a binding contract is created between you and the PGA IGI. Notification period Cancellation Fee please refer to our refund policy in the student handbook. Notification of cancellation or withdrawal or deferral must be made in writing to the PGA IGI. In case of cancellation or withdrawal, the cancellation fee and administration charge if relevant will be calculated as shown in the table on this page. If you dispute a decision regarding a refund, you have access to an independent grievance resolution process. This does not circumscribe your right to pursue other legal remedies or take further action under Australia s consumer protection laws. In the case of deferral prior to program commencement, the fees will be retained by the PGA IGI until the recommencement of study. If you subsequently withdraw, the Fee Refund Policy will apply as at the date the PGA IGI was advised in writing of your withdrawal. No refund will be made if you commenced the program. Visa refusal (Proof of refusal necessary, for example a letter of Visa rejection from an Australian embassy) A full refund of fee paid. Notification received prior to commencement of the course 20 days or more AUD $1000 plus Application fee Less than 20 days but prior to program commencement AUD $2000 plus Application fee Notification received after commencement of the course Anytime 100% of the program fees. No refunds are permissible If your enrolment is terminated by the PGA IGI you will not be entitled to any refund of fees. The PGA IGI reserves the right to withdraw a program from offer at its discretion. If you are unable to enrol in a similar program at the PGA IGI and the enrolment is cancelled, all fees will be refunded including the application fee. All refunds under this Fee Refund Policy will be paid within 28 days or receiving a written claim from the student. Refunds will be paid to the person who enters into the contract with the PGA IGI, unless the person provides written consent / direction to the PGA IGI to pay the refund to another person. Refunds are to be fully paid by the PGA IGI in AUD$. Note: Please refer to our website in the International Student section for a more detailed explanation of our fee refund policy. Deferral and Leave of Absence At the discretion of the Dean & Executive Officer (PGA IGI) a deferral or leave of absence may be approved prior to the commencement of a semester. Australia s laws promote quality education and consumer protection for overseas students. These laws are known as the ESOS framework and they include the Education Services for Overseas (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code Please refer to the following website for more information Regulatoryinformation.aspx Y O U R R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S All enrolled students are expected to adhere the PGA IGI code of conduct. and Academic Performance policy. In addition as an International Student, you are also required to understand your legal obligations as set out by the conditions of your student visa including: Ensuring that your course fees are paid before or when due I M P O R T A N T M A N D A T O R Y S T U D E N T V I S A C O N D I T I O N S You cannot work more than 20 hours per week* when your course is in session (other than work which has been r e g i s t e r e d a s a p a r t o f t h e c o u r s e ). Note: No work limits apply during recognised periods of vacation offered by your education provider. You cannot undertake work until you have commenced your course in Australia. *A week begins on a Monday and ends on the following Sunday. You must notify your education provider of your residential address in Australia within 7 days of arriving in Australia. You must notify your education provider of any change in your residential address within 7 days of the change. You must maintain student health insurance coverage for the period of your stay in Australia. Ensuring that you maintain a full-time enrolment Maintaining satisfactory attendance and course progress You must continue to satisfy the requirements for grant of your student visa. This means, for example, that you must continue to have sufficient financial capacity to support your study and stay in Australia. Achieving satisfactory results Notifying the PGA IGI of any address changes You must maintain adequate schooling arrangements for your school-age dependents who joined you Australia on a student dependent visa for more than 3 months. Studying at the PGA IGI for the first six months of your principal course. You may change education provider only in exceptional circumstances. Ensuring that you have a valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OHSC) for the duration of your study in Australia While it is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with these conditions, the PGA IGI will also be monitoring your enrolment and progress. The PGA IGI is required to notify the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) of any breaches to your student visa conditions. DIAC may cancel your student visa if you have been found guilty of breaching your student visa conditions. 23 Q U E S T I O N S A N D A N S W E R S Q: What courses are available through the PGA IGI? There are a number of courses on offer including a combined Degree/ Diploma, Diploma only, and Certificate level courses. For full details on our courses please visit our website Q: Are there age restrictions for entry into the PGA IGI programs? No, as long as a student is 18 years or older at the time of issue of the ecoe and meet the other entry criteria they are then suitable for entry into a PGA IGI course. Q: What are my options after studying? The course you study will generally help provide suitable career options for you. Most of our students generally have an idea of what they are hoping to achieve with their studies before they commence with the PGA IGI. During their time with us, we endeavour to nurture our students during their course, helping provide them with as much work experience or exposure to their particular areas of interests. We generally find this helps provide them with clear direction as to the path they would like to follow when they have graduated. Traditionally our students tend to follow careers in the following areas both in Australia and overseas; Golf Club Management, Golf Operations, Sales and Marketing within the industry, Golf Course Design, Coaching Professional, Playing Professional, Product Procurement, Retail Managers, Event Management, Media Roles, Greens keeper or Administrator. Some of these roles may require further study or experience. Part of our commitment to our students is helping them find suitable career options, we endeavour to use our industry networks to source suitable vacancies or contacts for our graduating students. Q: What if the course can not be delivered by the PGA IGI, are my fees protected? International Students Fees are covered in accordance with OSTAS. The Overseas Tuition Assurance Scheme operated by ACPET. In the unlikely event that the PGA IGI is unable to deliver the course in full, OSTAS will be activated where appropriate. In other cases, a student refund policy will apply Alternatively, the student may be offered enrolment in an alternative course offered by another provider (if available), at the expense of the PGA IGI. If the PGA IGI is unable to provide a refund or attempt to place a student in an alternative course our Tuition Assurance Scheme (TAS) via ACPET will place the student in a suitable alternative course at no extra cost to the student. If ACPET cannot place the student in a suitable course, the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager will accept to place the student in a suitable alternative course or if this is not possible the student will be eligible for refund as calculated by the Fund Manager. Q: What is your Student to Coach ratio? We limit student numbers to a maximum of 8 per class which allows our coaches ample time with individual students. As we use a variety of different coaching academies, our students occasionally have access to two or three coaches during their stay, which provides them a greater variety of knowledge. Q: Where is the PGA IGI located? The PGA IGI head office is at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club. Our location provides students access to some of the best courses in the country, year round golfing conditions, close proximity to the beach and an excellent standard of living. Q: Do you offer credit transfer? Students wishing to apply for a PGA IGI course may apply for credit transfer based on prior study or work experience. Each application will be assessed individually and supporting documentation will be required in all cases. You will likely need to send academic transcripts, course documentation, content and a current resume. We advise you speak directly with a member of staff who can help provide further details. Applications for credit transfer into Griffith University must be done directly with the University, the PGA IGI cannot assist in this process. For more details please contact Griffith University Admissions Department directly. We do not offer Credit transfer after the program commencement. Q: When and where are classes held? Classes vary from semester to semester however most academic classes are scheduled in the early evening at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club allowing students to work, play, practice or complete their University studies. Practical golfing sessions and tournament rounds will be played during the day, generally in the morning to allow for student free time for the remainder of the day. Q: Are there any Alumni success stories? Yes we consider all of our Alumni students success stories! We have PGA IGI graduates working as Golf Club Managers, Coaches, Sales and Marketing Staff, Golf Operations Staff and General Administrative personnel in Australia and around the world. See our alumni page on our website for more information. Q: What and when is orientation? Orientation is held over a one day, usually the Thursday before classes commence. During this time you have the opportunity to meet the PGA IGI team, mingle with fellow golfers and get familiar with your new surrounds. You usually have the opportunity to showcase your skills on the golf course and collect the information you will require for the year ahead. Orientation is a compulsory event.

24 Q U E S T I O N S A N D A N S W E R S Q: What if I have a complaint or am not satisfied about the services you provide? If you have concerns about the actions of the PGA IGI, you may approach the State Registration Authority for CRICOS. In Queensland this is the Department of Education and Training (DET). The Director-General of DET has the power to suspend or cancel the provider s registration or a course if a breach of the requirements of registration provision is proved. Concerns about the conduct of the provider should be addressed to The Manager, CRICOS Registration, Office of Non- State Education, Queensland Department of Education, PO Box 15033, City East, Qld Complaints must be made in writing. Conduct of Our Education Agents If you have concerns about the actions or conduct of your International Education Agent please notify the PGA IGI as soon as practical, you may approach the State Registration Authority for CRICOS. In Queensland this is the Department of Education and Training (DET). The Director-General of DET has the power to suspend or cancel the provider s registration or a course if a breach of the requirements of registration provision is proved. Q: What is a RTO or Registered Training Organisation The PGA IGI is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Provider Number 31270) and a provider on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS Provider Number 02754G). The PGA IGI meets the required standards for an RTO, as they are described in the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Standards for RTOs, as well as the required standards for CRICOS providers, as per State and Commonwealth Government legislative requirements. The AQTF is the nationally agreed quality framework for the Australian vocational education and training (VET) system. In order to become registered and remain as a Registered Training Organisation after audit, the PGA IGI must comply with AQTF standards. In being a Registered Training Organisation, the PGA IGI meets government standards for education and is recognised nationally as a portable organisation. The PGA IGI offers nationally recognised golf industry qualifications, which comprise vocational training certificates through to higher education tertiary programs. Q: As an International Student what are my basic responsibilities? All enrolled students are expected to adhere to the PGA IGI Code of Conduct. and Academic Performance policy. In addition, as an International student, you are also required to understand your legal obligations as set out by the conditions of your student visa including: Ensuring that your course fees are paid before or when due Ensuring that you maintain a full-time enrolment Maintaining satisfactory attendance and course progress Achieving satisfactory results Notifying the PGA IGI of any address changes Studying at the PGA IGI for the first six months of your principal course. You may change education provider only in exceptional circumstances. Ensuring that you have a valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OHSC) for the duration of your study in Australia While it is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with these conditions, the PGA IGI will also be monitoring your enrolment and progress. The PGA IGI is required to notify the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) of any breaches to your student visa conditions. DIAC may cancel your student visa if you have been found guilty of breaching your student visa conditions. Q: Are there any scholarships? No, unfortunately at this time there is no International Scholarships available. Should any international scholarships become available at anytime, the PGA IGI will make this information available on our website. Q. After I graduate from the Diploma and Degree how long do I have to apply to the PGA s traineeship program? Upon completion of the program (Diploma and Degree) students have 5 years to apply for entry into the PGA traineeship program - Professional Year (PY) which is delivered by the Australian PGA. Applications received after 5 years from completion are not guaranteed entry as the qualifications cannot be deemed current.
