5 Forestar GolF FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE! Switch from wheeled, to no-wheel and back again. Western Golf has developed a new golf ball picker which combines the best features of our no-wheel and wheeled units. We have named the new picker the Switchback for its ability to switch from wheeled, to no-wheel and back again. The Switchback uses our no-wheel, rear ejection drum sections in both the wheeled and no-wheel configurations. This unique design incorporates a part we call a receiver, used for either the wheeled or no-wheel picker, that bolts into the main frame. (Figure 3) Fig. 3 When using the wheeled set up, (Figure 1) a receiver consisting of the elbow, fork and wheel assembly is bolted into the main frame. By using nowheel drum sections, if there is ever a problem with the wheel, tire, bearings or fork, simply remove the nut and bolt in the top collar of the fork, pull out the entire fork assembly and continue running the picker as a no-wheel unit. (Figure 2) Repairs can then be made to the wheel assembly with no down time to the picker. After repairs are made to the wheel assembly, replace the fork in the receiver and switchback to the wheeled unit. Fig. 4 NO DOWN TIME! Switchback Wheel Receiver No-Wheel Receiver If a customer orders a no-wheel picker, we will ship the unit with the no-wheel receiver installed in the main frame. (Figure 4) Western Golf has also changed to a thicker wall on all tube connections on the main frame, mount bar, and extension arms. Gussets have been added for even more strength at all critical connection points. The Switchback ball picker is the most versatile designed ball picker on the market today. No other manufacturer offers a wheeled picker that can transform itself to a no-wheel design for continuous operation even if the wheel assembly gets damaged. Let s face it, we all know Murphy s Law, equipment breaks down at the worst time, during tournaments, special events and holiday weekends when suppliers are closed.
