5 The courses offered at this show will consist of at least 7 fences with at least two changes of direction. The fences will simulate obstacles found in the hunt field such as brush, post and rails, walls, in & outs, gates, etc. There will be no banks or water jumps. To be judged on performance and soundness. Manners will be emphasized and extreme speed penalized in Junior, Children s and Amateur classes. Hunter rings are 275 x 150 and 240 x 130 with sand footing. Management reserves the right to combine or cancel any divisions with insufficient entries. Transitions from one gait to another should be smooth and effortless. Horses must be obedient with prompt transitions. Horses must stand quietly and back readily in the line-up. 6 In all jumper classes, ties for first place will be jumped off. Ties not involving first place will remain tied for the purpose of points and cash awards. First round times, if any, will determine the ribbons. Orders will be drawn per USEF rules. Time allowed is to be based on a minimum speed of 382 yards/ minute in all jumper divisions, except where noted. Jumper Ring is 350 x 350. Courses may consist of any combination of the following: brush, gates, oxers, post and rails, liverpools, walls, panels, or coops. Jumpers must be recorded with the Federation in order to receive points towards any USEF or USHJA Zone or Horse of the Year awards. Any change of a recorded horse s name and/or ownership must be recorded with Federation in accordance with GR1105 and GR1107. Management reserves the right to combine or cancel any classes with insufficient entries. Points for non-money classes are calculated 10,6,4,2,1,1/2. Attire: Riders are not required to wear Hunt Coats except where noted. Riders must wear collared shirts. Hunt Coats are required in all Stake and Special classes. MANAGEMENT: The Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the horse show management; its decision to be final. 4. RESPONSIBILITY: The Horse Show Management reserves to itself the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages; to change any course, to cancel or combine any unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes as competition warrants. 5. CONDITION OF ENTRY: Every horse entered in competition will be under control of the Horse Show Management, but Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur and it shall be the condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, it s directors and employees and Brookside Equestrian Park harmless for any loss or accident to his/her horse(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. All owners and exhibitors will be held accountable for any damages incurred by them, their agents or employees, to the stalls, buildings and other properties on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly. 6. STALL REQUEST: Trainers will be responsible for payment of all stalls requested. An open check is required to hold stalls. Stalls reserved but not included with entries will be charged to the open check. A $25 late charge will be assessed on all entry blanks postmarked after the close of entries. 7. FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT: By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the Federation ) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable casts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR The competition and its management agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the PCHA, its directors, officer, committee members, agents and employees from and against all loss or damage including any and all claims arising out of the competition, including claims as to personal injury or property loss or damage suffered during or in conjunction with the competition, whether or not such injury or loss resulted directly or indirectly from negligent acts or omissions of said directors, officers, committee members, agents or employees 8. NOMINATING FEE: Nominating Fee allows for unlimited Adds/ Scratches of classes except Featured Classes. Adds/Scratches must be done on an Add/Scratch Form or Trainer Form in the Horse Show Office. 9. ADD/SCRATCH POLICY: We kindly request that all adds and scratches are completed in the office by 3pm each day. 10. SCHOOLING: Schooling will be allowed in all arenas; April 3th (Premier) & April 10th (Premier II) from approx 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. And at the end of each show day with time permitting. 11. ENTRY BLANKS: Care should be taken to enter each horse in its proper division or class. Exhibitors are responsible for their errors and those of their agents in making out entry blanks. In all cases the description on the entry blank must fully identify the horse. The word entry shall not be accepted. A. Be properly signed, and in the case of a minor, be signed by a parent or guardian. B. Be made on an entry blank provided by the show. C. Show the correct mailing address of the owner. D. Social Security number must be included on entry blank. E. Include copy of USEF membership card or pay $45 show pass fee for each owner. lessee, agent, trainer and rider. F. RETURNED CHECKS: Checks returned by the bank for any reason are regarded as a most serious offense and will be handled in the following procedure. $25 OR 10% OF THE AMOUNT OF THE CHECK WILL BE ASSESSED FOR EACH RETURNED CHECK!! Accounts will be given ten days to be paid in full with cash, or cash equivalent or they will be turned into USEF and PCHA for further disciplinary action.

UNPAID CHARGES: If the show management or show official (i.e. farrier, veterinarian, feed supplier, photographer, food concessionaire, etc.) must bill an exhibitor for unpaid charges, a $25 billing fee will be added to the amount due. 15. PRIZES/PRIZE MONEY: Awards to 1st place in all classes, ribbons 1st- 8th in Hunter Divisions, 1st-6th in Jumper Divisions. In money classes prize money will be paid through 5th place (30%,25%,20%,15%,10%) unless otherwise stated in class specs. Prize money will be payable to Payee listed on the entry blank and mailed within 30 days. No prize money will be paid unless owners Social Security number is listed on entry blank. In all classes with add-back prize money is computed from the number of horses that actually show. Horses entered but not showing will forfeit their add-back money to Management, unless they scratch before the class.prize MONEY WON BY FOREIGN EXHIBITORS: Foreign exhibitors are advised that the U.S. Internal Revenue Service requires sporting events to withhold 30% of prize money won in the United States. Foreign exhibitors should apply for a U.S. Social Security number and will be asked to complete form W-8 prior to the Brookside Premier issuing prize money won. All checks must be cashed within 90 days or will become void. 16. ADD-BACK: In classes with add-back, prize money is computed from the number of horses that actually show. 17. PARKING: Horse trailers will be parked in designated areas. Autos will also be parked in designated areas. There will be no autos allowed in the barn area and aisles. 18. RVS: RV reservations must be booked directly through Brookside Show Park at amp service is available on a first come first served basis. RVs must have valid RV permit displayed. RV fee is $175 for the duration of this event - payable on your horse show entry. 19. GOLF CART, MOTORIZED SCOOTERS, ETC.: Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/ or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competitiongrounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 20. STABLING: Stalls and tack rooms will be available for $225 each. No bedding included. Stalls are of portable construction. 10 x10 with doors. Stalls will not be available for Premier prior to 10am Monday April 2nd or for Premier II, Monday April 9th, unless specific arrangements are made with the Show Management. 21. FEED AND BEDDING: All orders must be made through the Horse Show office (916) MEDICAL WASTE: Needles must be placed in the proper receptacles. Anyone found in violation shall be subject to a fine or other penalties deemed necessary by show management. 23. NUMBERS: Management will provide a number card for each competitor which shall be worn on the rider s back clearly visible to the judge at all times when in competition. Riders wearing the wrong number or no number at all may be eliminated from the class by the judge. 24. COURSES: Courses may consist of any combination of the following: Brush, Gate, Oxers, Panels, Post & Rails, Banks, Ditches, Coops & Liverpools. The horse show management reserves the right to adjust fence heights or spreads in jumper classes as competition warrants. 25. POLING: Not allowed in California. 26. HARD HATS AND ATTIRE: GR801.2 It is compulsory for all persons at Federation licensed hunter, jumper or hunter/jumper competitions, when mounted anywhere on the competition grounds, to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. It is compulsory for riders in Paso Fino classes, both open and breed restricted including Hunter Hack, where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the competition grounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. A Show Committee must bar riders without protective headgear from entering the ring for classes in which protective headgear is required and may bar any entry or person from entering the ring if not suitably presented to appear before an audience. All exhibitors are required to wear shoes or boots with a riding heel whenever mounted on horseback on the grounds. 27. DOGS: Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be held on a leash or otherwise restrained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mount- ed. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from their dogs behaviors. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule will be issued a Yellow warning card may be subject to penalty under Chapters 6 and 7. BOD 1/12/14 Effective 12/1/ MEASURING OF ENTRIES: Time of measuring will be posted in the Horse Show Office. ALL HUNTER AND JUMPER PONIES AND JUNIOR HUNTERS MUST HAVE A COPY OF OR THEIR ORIGINAL MEASUREMENT CARDS PRESENTED TO ONE OF THE SHOW SECRETARIES OR BE MEASURED IF THE CARD IS NOT AVAILABLE, BEFORE THE EXHIBITORS NUMBER WILL BE RELEASED. 29. POSTED ORDER: The trainer, exhibitor or other representative must tell the paddock steward of possible ring conflicts so that arrangements can be made to accommodate the rider as well as the time schedule. All management decisions will be final Order of go will be drawn according to USEF Rule JP SCHOOLING SUPERVISION: Please be advised that paddock stewards are schooling supervisors and have absolute authority to scratch riders who do not follow USEF schooling rules. They can scratch riders without going through the USEF Steward or the Horse Show Manager. 31. ARENAS: Warm-up rings and all arenas are sand footing. Grand Prix arena 350 x350. Main Hunter Ring 275 x150. Hunter Ring II 240 x GROUNDS FEE: Per day per horse not using a stall - $ NON-SHOWING HORSES: For any horse on the grounds and not officially entered, owner, or trainer of said horse must complete a Not to Show form, sign a release at the horse show office, and pay a $50 fee. ASPCA HORSEMANSHIP Open to riders 17 & under. To be judged on hands, seat, guidance and control of the horse. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not exceeding 3 6 with or without wings. A minimum of twelve riders, if available, are required to show at the walk, trot and canter. The Under Saddle performance of those riders selected to show under saddle shall count 50%. Only one rider per horse. (USEF Test 1-19). Six riders must complete the course. ALMADEN FARMS JR/AM: To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences 2 9 in height, with two changes of lead after the first fence, and MAY include one combination which must include an oxer. Two or more tests will be incorporated in the original course. No work-off is required. Five contestants must complete the course. Points awarded 10, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1/2. CLOVERLEAF EQUITATION CLASSIC: Class is open to Junior & Amateur riders not showing in any classes over 3 7 in height. To be judged over a Jumper course of not less than 9 fences at 3 feet in height. To be judged on hands, seat, guidance & control of the horse on a Jumper type of ride. There will not be a time allowed; a tone will be used to signal the rider to start the course. Any Jumper type bit or equipment is allowed. Jumping penalties will be considered in accordance with USEF Equitation rules. Additional work-offs after the initial round will be at the Judge s discretion, and any number of riders may be asked to test. At least 3 riders must enter & show in the class. First & second place winners will be qualified for the finals. CPHA FOUNDATION EQUITATION: Open to Junior and Amateur riders who are current members of the CPHA and PCHA, to be judged over an equitation type course of at least 8 fences 3 3 in height with at least 2 USEF Tests (1, 2,6,10,12,15,17 or 18) included as part of the course. Trainers of riders in this class must be professional members of the CPHA and current members of the PCHA. This class will be judged on the current standards of the US Equestrian Federation. QUALIFICATIONS: 21/under riders must earn 6 points during the qualifying season and may continue to ride in the class for the year-end high point award. Amateurs, 22/over and juniors 14/under must ride in one class prior to the 2015 championships to qualify and may continue to ride for their specific division s year-end high point award. The high point division leaders will receive special awards from the California Professional Horsemen s Association Foundation at its annual awards presentation held at the PCHA Convention. Points are awarded: Any class with 30 or more riders the class must be split (California split) with two sets of awards and two sets of ribbons to be distributed. Three (3) riders must compete and complete the course in order for the class to count as a qualifier. Unconventional equipment may be penalized at the discretion of the judges. The qualifying period will be from the first weekend after the finals to the last weekend before the finals. Cross Entry Restriction: The same horse must be ridden through all phases of the competition and may only be used in one age group. CPHA HORSEMANSHIP MEDAL This class is open to Child and Adult riders who in the past 10 years have never WON any medal, equitation, hunter or jumper class with fences 3 or higher. In addition any rider who has competed in any classes within the last 10 years with fences set at 3 3 is not eligible to compete in this class. Riders must maintain their eligibility until after the MEDAL SPECIFICATIONS finals. Trainers and riders must be members of the CPHA prior to riding in this class. The class will be held over a 2 6 course with a minimum of eight fences, no combinations and at least two changes of direction. One test of either a halt or trot fence must be included in the course. At least three riders must complete the course. Three (3) points qualifies for the finals. * Any class with 30 or more riders the class must be split (California split) with two sets of awards and two sets of ribbons to be distributed. Points are awarded 5 or more: , for 4 riders, for 3 riders ONONDARKA: For riders 12 years of age and under, current members of the PCHA who will not be older than 12 (USEF horse show age) when the Final is held. To be judged over a course of 3 0 fences. Combinations are permitted. Work off is required of at least 4 (if available) without a major fault. Tests I Major faults include trotting, loss of stirrup, loss of reins, refusal or a numerical score of less than 60. Only one rider per horse. FOXFIELD MEDAL Open to Adult Amateur riders who are current senior members of PCHA. Class is to be judged over a figureeight course of 3 3 fences. Two or more tests of the top 3 or 4 contestants are required. Three riders must enter the class and three riders must complete the course for points to count. HORSE & HOUND JR/AMATEUR MEDAL: Open to all junior and amateur riders who have not competed in a 3 6 medal finals in the previous 3 years and who are not showing 3 6 or higher at this show. To be shown over a hunter or jumper course of 3 fences with 2 tests included. 5 riders fill. Points awarded If only 4 finish, points will be awarded Classes with 15 or more entries will be pointed points qualifies for the finals. The Horse & Hound Medal will be presented to the winner of a qualifying class with 5 or more entries. HORSE & HOUND PONY MEDAL: To be shown over a hunter course of fences (small/medium to jump 2, large to jump 2 6 ) with 2 tests included. Points & qualifying the same as Horse & Hound Jr/Amateur Medal. Riders may not show 3 6 or higher at this show. Previous winners of the Horse & Hound Pony Medal Finals are no longer eligible to compete. HUDSON & COMPANY MEDAL JR/AM: To be shown over a course of hunter and jumper type fences approximately 3 3 in height with flat work incorporated into the course. No work off is required; but further testing is at the judge s discretion. (USEF tests 1-19) Points awarded to top eight riders; 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Riders will receive double points in classes with 15 or more riders. Six points required to qualify a rider for the Medal Finals. Winner may continue to compete throughout the year. Five riders must complete the course. Winner of the final to receive a Saddle. NORCAL JUNIOR & SENIOR: Open to junior/amateur members of NorCal. Trainers of contestants must also be members. To be shown over a course of not less than 8 fences 3 6 in height. Either hunter or jumper type fences may be used. The course must include at least 2 changes of direction, and a combination containing an oxer. No triple combinations, water jumps or livrpools are allowed. Two or more tests of the top 4 riders will be required (Tests 1-19). Any exhibitor failing to return for the work-off will automatically be placed last of those called back. Five or more riders must complete

12 the course for the medal to be awarded, and points will count Seven points qualifies a rider for the Finals, but winners may continue to compete in the class throughout the year. If fewer than 5 riders complete the course, no medal will be awarded but points will be awarded as follows: 4 riders , 3 riders , fewer than 3 complete- no points will be given. NORCAL 3 FT JR./AM. MEDAL: May be offered in the Hunter or Jumper ring. Open to all juniors and amateurs who have not won a 3 6 medal in the preceeding 5 years and who are not showing 3 6 medals or hunters at this show. Trainers of contestants must also be members. Same specifications as the junior and senior medals, with the exception that fences shall be 3-ft. Work-off of the top 4 riders is mandatory. Points awarded the same as for junior and senior medals, 7 points needed to qualify for the finals. Winners may continue to compete in the class throughout the year. Any NorCal Medal class with more than 20 contestants willl be pointed through 8th place as follows: Riders must complete the course for points to count. NORCAL PONY MEDAL CLASS: Open to current junior members of the NorCal Hunter Jumper Association. Trainers of contestants must also be members of NorCal. No junior over 12 years may compete on a small pony, and no junior over 14 years may compete on a medium pony. Riders in this class may not enter a NorCal Junior Medal class at the same show. Fence heights will be according to USEF specifications for small, medium and large ponies. Course will incorporate a work-off of at least two tests. Five riders must complete the course. One rider per pony. PCHA HORSEMANSHIP 14/U: This class is designed as an intermediate equitation class for riders 14 years of age and under who are current PCHA members. A rider who will not be 14 years old (horseshow age) or under on the date of the Finals may not compete in the class. To be held over a course of at least eight (8) fences about 3 3 in height. Hunter-type fences are encouraged. One combination must be included and at least two changes of direction with two tests included as part of the original course. No workoff is required; but further testing is at the judges discretion. To fill a class, three competitors must complete the course. Riders may qualify by achieving the necessary 12 points or by winning a class of five or more entries. Qualified riders will receive a medal. Regardless of how many points he/she accumulates, a rider can continue to compete in qualifying classes until he/she has won a class of five or more entries. PCHA HORSEMANSHIP 35/OVER: This class is open to riders 35 years of age and over (horseshow age) who are current PCHA members. Same as 14 & under. SAHJA PONY MEDAL A Hunt Seat medal open to junior riders showing ponies (14.2 hands and under). The SAHJA Pony Medal shall be judged over a course of fences 2 3 in height, with two Federation tests (1-9) incorporated into the course. Jumper type equipment is not allowed. Any additional work-off shall be at the judge s discretion. SAHJA MINI MEDAL A Hunt Seat medal open to any junior or adult amateur rider who has not won a 3 6 rated medal class or any medal finals, except the SAHJA Pony Medal. Riders to be judged over a course of fences 2 6 in height, with at least two Federation tests (1-9) incorporated into the course. Jumper type equipment is not allowed. There is no work-off. SAHJA CHILD/ADULT MEDAL A Hunt Seat medal open to any junior or adult amateur rider who has not won a 3 6 rated medal finals. Riders to be judged over a course of fences 3 0 in height. Jumper type equipment is not allowed. At least the top four riders will return for a flat work-off. PCHA JR/AM HORSEMANSHIP 2 9 This class is open to Junior and Amateur riders who are current PCHA members as well as their trainer. Riders may not jump fences 3 3 or higher during the current show year. Riders who have won a medal class with fences 3 3 or higher in the last 10 years will not be eligible. Exceptions: 1. A rider may show in regular age break equitation where fences are A rider may show in Jumper Classes where fences do not exceed.95m (3 1 ). This class is to be held over a course of at least 8 fences which are not to exceed 2 9 with 2 tests from the USEF Rule Book (tests 1-9) included on course. Points to be awarded to the top 5 competitors. 3 must complete the course for the class to count. Twelve (12) points qualifies a rider for the Finals. Qualified riders may continue to show in qualifying classes until the Finals. PCHA ADULT HORSEMANSHIP This class is open to amateur riders (horse show age) who are current PCHA members as well as their trainer. The class is to be held over a class of at least 8 fences which are not to exceed 3 3 in height. One combination and at least 2 changes of direction must be included in the course. Two (2) or more tests USEF 1-18 (see exceptions) will be part of the original course. Competitors will not be asked to mount, dismount or jump without stirrups.
