1 NSA Official Notices Thursday, June 21, 2018 Summer Racing See below for the summer schedule of steeplechase action at the major tracks. Suffolk Downs Races See below for Suffolk Downs race conditions on Saturday, July 7 th and Sunday, July 8 th. Abbreviated Fall Conditions Please see below for the abbreviated fall conditions. Restrictions for Jump Races at Saratoga & Belmont -No Apprentice Riders -No Maidens -No Maiden Claiming Winners (unless they have subsequently won over hurdles) -No starters that have fallen in 2 of the last 5 starts. NYRA Trainer Continuing Education All trainers starting 12 or more horses at NYRA tracks are required to complete 4 hours of continuing education (courses available online). If you have fewer than 12 starts, you must request a waiver from the New York State Steward. All NSA trainers are encouraged to participate in the continuing education regardless of the number of starters. Please click the link for more information on the courses:

SARATOGA AND BELMONT NOTICES LICENSING All owners, trainers and riders must be licensed by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board. All trainers must show evidence of Workmen s Compensation Insurance valid in the State of New York. PURSES & FEES Purses in steeplechase races at Saratoga and Belmont will be distributed by the NSA as follows: 60% to first; 18% to second; 10% to third; 5% to fourth; 4% to fifth and 3% to sixth. Runners reward still applies with all NSA fees waived for any horse that runs and does not earn a portion of the purse. In addition to NSA fees, 5% of any purse money earned in the Jonathan Kiser Novice Stakes on Wednesday, July 25 th, the Michael G. Walsh Novice Stakes on Wednesday, August 22 nd, and the William Entenmann Memorial on September 20 th will be deducted as a fee to the Sport of Kings Reserve Fund. In addition, all owners and trainers are required to pay an assessment to the New York Injured Jockey Compensation Fund. The charge is $250 per start for the first six starts, for a maximum of $1,500 per year. (If your trainer has stalls on NYRA grounds, the maximum fee will apply). In addition, New York State statutory fees of 1% for the backstretch pension fund plus 2% to NYTHA will be deducted from any purse earnings at Saratoga. There is a $25 Lasix fee for all horses that are administered Lasix.
