5 During the fiscal year for which this report is made, meetings of the Conimission were held on the following dates at the designated Cities: July 6, Jacksonville August 15, JacksonviIle October 21, JacksoDville December 1, 1939-Miami January 8, 194~Miami January 9, 1940-C0ral Gables February 17, 1940-Miami March I, Miami March 27, 1940-Miami April 4, 1940-Miami Permit granted to the Pensacola Kennel Club, Inc., Escambia County, JuJy 11, 1939, was rejected by Referendum in Escambia County, by vote of 3237 against the proposition and 2888 in favor of the proposition. Applications filed in June 1939 for permit to conduct. horse racing in VoJusia County and dog racing in Orange County, by the Daytona Beach Jockey Club and Orange County Kennel Club, Inc., respectively, were denied on the grounds that applications were insufficient to meet the requirements of the law. The following applications for permits to conduct racing and exhibitions of the Spanish ball game called Jai-a-lai were filed in June No action taken thereon during current fiscal year: Miami Jai-a-lai Association, Dade County, exhibitions. Coliseum Inc., (Jai-a-lai), Dade County, exilibitions. Florida FrontoD A8sociation, (Jai-a-lai), Dade County, exhibitions. Florida Weot Coast Jockey Club, Inc., Hillsborough County, horse racing. Daytona Beach Jockey Clu'b, Inc., Volusia County, horse racing.

The drawing of sauve speeimeo's and lubmiuiod of other body excretions was under the di... ct 8upervision of Dr. J. G. Catlett, Chief Veterinarian tor the CommissioD. All specimens were sent to the labora,... tory operated by the Commission, American Bank Building, Miami, Florida. Following is a summary of saliva specimens and other body excretions submitted to the laboratory and the reoult. of analysis made by Dr. Y.
