Fresh off the track the mare boasted 30 career starts over a four year period. Her race record shows us that the mare was a sound athlete of mind and body. This female family is known for producing the race and sport horse sires: Caramel xx (sire of Heraldik xx and full sister Herka xx); Selle Francis Approved Danoso xx; Pardal xx (sire of approved SWB stallion Glacial xx); Private Account xx, Cohoes xx, The Axe II xx, Buckpasser xx, Pleasant Tap xx, Slandered Bearer xx, etc. The broodmare sire of Cornish Prince xx is Eight Thirty xx. An american race horse who s name is most welcome in any sport pedigree. Cornish Prince xx is known for siring steeplechase runners, and the third dam of Renovate xx, Cornish Genie xx. A turf runner winner at 2 and 3 in France, Cornish Genie placed 3rd in the Prix de la Pepiniere. (USA) Much of Grey Dawn s xx brilliance can be attributed to his dam-sire Mahmoud xx, and through his female lineage which goes back to the Judy O Grady xx clan. This female family has not only produced track horses but is also the mother line of Denny Emmerson s stallion Reputed Testamony xx. Both Grey Dawn II xx and Reputed Testamony xx traces back to the Blue Hen mare Blue Denim xx. It was only in his racing form that Grey Dawn II xx did not take after his sire Herbager, xx who was an impressive sire with quite a bit of stayer blood and also a decedent of the Spicebox xx family. Thankfully for sport-horse breeders a little bit of each racing style is required in the modern sport-horse. And Grey Dawn II xx, like his sire Herbager xx did not disappoint the show jumping world. Known to pass on jumping technique, size, and movement it wasn t until the son of Grey Dawn II xx, Kuwait Beach xx, who in turn sired the Olympic event horse and German horse of the year in 2004 Sleep Late xx was sought after in sport horse pedigrees. In 1990 Grey Dawn was gifted the title of Broodmare Sire of the year for the United States, his daughters produced more than 125 stakes winners. Including the third dam of Renovate xx, Soft Dawn xx.
