The annual work fee has been incorporated in the annual dues. This is a great opportunity to grab your pistol to come out and compete! No matter what pistol is your favorite USPSA has a division for you. Production is the most popular class. Any unmodified pistol qualifies. Like shooting with a red dot on your pistol? Carry Optics is your division. Love those 45 automatics? Single Stack division. Like I said, USPSA has a division for you! So keep your eye on the ORGC website and the ORGC calendar for our first USPSA match! Any questions contact Keith at keith@teamrangelog.com RANGE ORIENTATION All new club members in order to use the rifle and pistol ranges you must have attended and have passed the RANGE ORIENTATION. To register for the next Range Orientation class to be conducted on APRIL 15 th ;you will need to contact range coordinator - Gary Partridge (585) or Bill Palermo (585) or Steve Verdi (585) for any questions you may have. The Range Orientation begins at 9 AM in the clubhouse and will run to about noon time depending on the number of participants. Try to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to find a seat. You may want to bring pencil and paper to be able to take notes. When attending the Range Orientation, you will need to have eye and ear protection for the range exercise. If you plan on using rifles, pistols, and shotguns with slugs, all firearms need to be in some type of a case, be it a hard case, a soft case, or a sock. All firearms must be unloaded and the action open at all times unless you are on the firing line actually shooting. You will need five rounds of ammunition for each firearm you bring to the orientation. All firearms and ammunition are to be locked in your vehicle until instructed to retrieve them. YOUTH SHOOTING PROGRAM The Ontario Rod and Gun Club is organizing a youth shooting program and we need your help! The program is free to children of club members ages 12 to 17 years old. Children whose parents are not members of the club will pay a fee of $20 per year. Ammunition and targets will be provided by the club. Some guns will be available for those who do not own their own firearms. We need members with kids or those who are willing to assist that do not have children at home to help run the program. The program will run Monday nights from 6 to 8:30 PM beginning in May and ending in September. See Steve Verdi for more detailed information.

2 PAGE 2 APRIL 2017 The Scatter Sheet WHAT HAPPENED TO WINTER? Where did my down time go? I was actually relieved at the end of last season. I was looking forward to bit of a break, from the constraint go-go-go of the shooting season. Seemed like last year was a whirlwind of shooting, driving, and new friends. I can honestly say there was zero boredom to be had. Since then, I was able to clean all of my guns, they are currently living happily in my safe together. I was able to catch up, or even surpass my ammo stock piles as well. But, with 2017 slapping me in the face, the long winter break of years past has not happened is here and it is starting with or without me. ORGC has already had many action shooting events since the beginning of the year. We are looking at a Practical Rifle Match in less than 2 weeks. I don't even have my new rifle zeroed in yet! Need to step up my game and get back in front of the curve. Keith Bourgeois - club director keith@teamrangelog.com RPD TRAINING TO BE OFFERED "Rochester Personal Defense, LLC is happy to announce that we will be providing our training courses at ORGC. This means more availability for you to train with Rochester's Choice for firearms training! Some of the initial courses will be our Concealed Carry series (Basics 1, 2, 3), Defensive Shotgun, Rifle, and our widely popular Ladies Only courses. Other future courses will be our NY Permit Legalities course, Multi-State permit course, and instructor level courses for the NRA, USCCA and SAFTD! 5 Page 5 APRIL 2017 The Scatter Sheet INLAND WATERS TRAP LEAGUE Victor hosted out 8th shoot of the season. This was the third and final Stein and Hayes shoot of the year. Jeff Gallahan won the Stein posting a 49x50 and Jenna Coyne won the Hayes posting a 47x50. Congratulations to Jeff and Jenna. Jenna is a two time winner of the Hayes this year. Barney Knoeferl won the 50/50 for $ Ron Dingler won the Beikirch gift certificate. The category races are now being posted. Please note that these are currently based on total targets. Most races are decided on each shooters best eight scores. Therefore, a shooter can be sitting in fourth place right now, but could end up winning the category because he or she had a better total on just eight scores. You may have noticed that we still have a donation jar for Christopher Vendel and will be kept going until the end of the season. All proceeds will go to either the A.I.M. or NYSATA scholarship program. That will be decided by Christopher s parents. The races are getting close, so make sure to attend both of the final two shoots. You never know how things will work out. Outlet Rod & Gun Club will host the 9th shoot on April 1-2.
