1 UKTI NEWSLETTER (AUG SEP - OCT 2014) We have recently introduced a Students page to the UKTI Website which has been designed specifically for UKTI Members only. It is password protected so for access a student will need to uktienquires@gmail.com FREE download of the Syllabus book is now available on the Students Page which is numbered: (1. Little Kubz) and (2. Active TKD) to start learning for future tests. Brand new colour scheme & Banner which has improved visibility for viewers. Brand new Server which has improved the speed of the website. All errors have been fixed. Brand new enrolment system for customers to book in for their designated classes. A redesigned news page. 3 International Linked TaeKwon-Do Championships England & Ireland Location: Riverside Venue 360 Saturday 11 th OCTOBER 2014 Doors Open 11:00am 4:00pm ILT Members ONLY Spectators Entry 8 / 12 Competition WHY should we compete in 2014?! Come and support your Friends/Family members, who are competing in any of the different events, it is promised to be a fantastic day! For students taking part in the competition they get a productive day out of their usual training hall with the chance to celebrate winning Medals are Certificates with their supporters! But that s only scratching the surface It s a great opportunity for the student to show part of their life skills they have learnt during the lessons in a different environment, trying out new ideas and developing their skills to exploring other areas of their profession and developing their existing knowledge. In the competition fast approaching there is a variety of positives to take home afterwards whether it be winning prizes or taken away much more in their improved skills and the mental & physical confidence to push themselves to achieve more and more for their future endeavours. 4 Blue Belt & Above Pre Grading Date: Saturday 18 th October 2014 Venue: Memorial Hall, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, Drury Lane, LU5 5ED Time: 11am 1pm. Blue Belt & Above Mock Test Information: All Students wishing to take their exam on the 16th November 2014 must attend the mock exam training sessions held Your Examination forms for November will be given at the mock exam class on the day. Please remember those who don t complete all the training classes will have time added on to their future Examinations. The course is open to all students even if they do not wish to take the mock exam, as it can be used to catch up on the time they've missed previously, allowing them to prepare for the next Examination. Blue Belt up to Red Tag: 2 of the mock exam training sessions before the 16th November, Compulsory. Red Belt up to Black Tag: 3 of the mock exam training sessions before the 16th November, Compulsory. Black Belt Training D Date: Saturday 18 th October 2014 Venue: Memorial Hall, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, Drury Lane, LU5 5ED Time: 1:30pm 3:30pm. Black Belt Training with Master Hiron John VII Degree: These Seminars are open to all students who hold the rank of Black Belt 1st Dan up to 7th Degree Black Belt. Students participating will be assessed during the seminar and advised regarding their readiness for future Black Belt exams. Please remember those who don t complete all the black belt training classes will have time added on to their future Examinations. All other National Governing Bodies require their students to complete 12 black Belt training classes a year, so there s no excuse for you! At our schools Black Belts are earned, not given!

5 Black Belts Presentation Please make sure you have your TaeKwon-Do suit or a formal Suit and Tie on for the Presentation on the day, we will not allow any students to receive their certificate without their uniform on. UKTI Introductory Lessons During the class time parents are not permitted to walk into the class or interact with their children in any way whilst the class is in action, as this can disturb the Instructors teaching. Also parents are not licenced in our classes to take part as this can also be a Health & Safety hazard.

8 ITF & WTF MERGE President Bach attending the signing ceremony between the President of the WTF (r.) and of the ITF (l.). IOC/Ian Jones in Nanjing on 21 August, the President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), Chungwon Choue, and the President of the International TaeKwon-Do Federation (ITF) and IOC member, Ung Chang, signed a historic memorandum in the presence of President Bach. This agreement will open up dialogue and increase collaboration between the two organisations for the benefit of the sport worldwide. As part of the agreement, athletes currently registered with the WTF and ITF will be free to compete in each other s competitions under the rules of each organisation, creating new exciting opportunities and ensuring that the world s best taekwondo athletes can compete in the world s best taekwondo tournaments. This is a historic step for taekwondo it is a kind of family reunion. With common roots and a common history, the two federations belong to the same family and it is great to see such an accord. It is in the best interests of the young athletes and lays a firm foundation for cooperation for the future, President Bach declared.
