[ partners ]
Thank You for considering supporting the Fort Tuthill Bike Park! [ Project Overview ] This project is a public/private partnership with the goal of providing a public free-use recreational bike park facility at Fort Tuthill County Park. Flagstaff Biking Organization/Flag Velo, Inc., (FBO), a 501c3 Arizona non-profit organization, has entered into an agreement with Coconino County Parks and Recreation (CCP&R) to raise funds and construct this facility. Once phases of the Park are completed, CCP&R will maintain the various tracks and features as a day-use public amenity. [3]
[ Bike Parks ] Modern bike parks offer purpose-built trails, designed and built by mountain bikers to maximize the potential for two-wheeled fun. Highly skilled riders had always built jumps and daunting features for themselves, but the early leaders in the bike park movement discovered that it was not enough to solely offer expert-only terrain. In order to succeed and grow the user base, they had to create challenging trails and riding features tailored specifically to each ability level. Flagstaff is a cycling community, with hundreds of miles of trails, bike lanes, bike shops, bike events and more. Flagstaff has been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Silver Level Bicycle Friendly Community. Cycling is very much part of the Flagstaff experience, and the Fort Tuthill Bike Park is proving to be a very popular addition to the cycling culture of Northern Arizona. [4] [ Location & history ] The Fort Tuthill Bike Park is located on approximately 7 acres of ponderosa pine forest at Fort Tuthill County Park, just north of the Fairgrounds and the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course. Starting in the mid-2000s, FBO began advocating the idea to construct a bike skills park to CCP&R based upon much interest expressed within the cycling community. In 2012, CCP&R developed a Master Plan for Fort Tuthill County Park. FBO sat in as a stakeholder through this process. In 2013, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors approved this Master Plan, which included the 7 acre parcel designation as use for the bike park. In the summer of 2013, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to enter into an agreement with FBO to build the Fort Tuthill Bike Park. Throughout the fall of 2014 the first phase of the Park was completed
and opened to the public. This phase consists of beginner, intermediate and advanced flow trails and the tot-track. The complete Concept Plan for the Bike Park, developed by IMBA Trail Solutions, is available in the link below, or in print upon request. [ Support this community ] driven facility Flagstaff Biking Organization is asking for your support to see this effort through to completion. With government budgets already maxed, we have taken on the responsibility for funding and executing this project that will benefit the whole community. Sponsoring or donating to the Fort Tuthill Bike Park is a great way to help promote this opportunity for healthy lifestyle choices for our communities. The Bike Park is a sustainable recreation facility with broad appeal. Because bike parks are enticing and intriguing, they are effective at drawing people into cycling. Once this initial step has been made, many folks will continue to use bicycles not only as a means of recreation, but as a tool for transportation. The Fort Tuthill Bike Park will also be a great way to keep kids involved in healthy outdoor pursuits. In this [5] day of video games, television and cell phone apps and games, it is important to have readily available opportunities for kids to participate in sports. Childhood obesity is at an all-time high. Conditions such as juvenile diabetes and ADHD have been linked to lack of physical exercise in today s youth. Mountain biking and BMX park riding are types of recreation that, because of their visual impact and perceived radness, are apt to attract kids who might otherwise seek out less healthy lifestyle choices. [ Use of donation ] & sponsorship funds The development of the Fort Tuthill Bike Park project by Flagstaff Biking Organization is completely volunteer driven. Your sponsorship funds will only be used to hire professional bike park trail designers and builders, purchase materials and structures, rent constructions equipment and other things that are directly part of constructing the Park. No money will be used for administration of the project. Supporting the Fort Tuthill Bike Park is a great way to help support a healthier community!
[ Sponsorship & Donor Tiers ] $50,000+ Sponsor Large logo, or very large font, top tier placement of name or company name on permanent signage at the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Very large font, top tier placement of name or company name on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park web page at Flagstaffbiking.org. Facebook post on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Facebook page at time of donation thanking sponsor for donation with a link to the sponsor s web page, (upon request only). Terms for other recognition are potentially negotiable in advance of donation. Please contact trails@flagstaffbiking.org to initiate this discussion process. Other recognition through social media and other outlets as possible. $5000 to $19,999 Sponsor Medium font, 3rd tier placement of name or company name on permanent signage at the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Medium font, 3rd tier placement of name or company name on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park web page at Flagstaffbiking.org. Facebook post on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Facebook page at time of donation thanking sponsor for donation with a link to the sponsor s web page, (upon request only). $20,000 to $49,999 Sponsor Medium logo, or large font, 2nd tier placement of name or company name on permanent signage at the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Large font, 2nd tier placement of name or company name on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park web page at Flagstaffbiking.org. Facebook post on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Facebook page at time of donation thanking sponsor for donation with a link to the sponsor s web page, (upon request only). $1000 to $4999 Sponsor Small font, lower tier placement of name or company name on permanent signage at the Fort Tuthill Bike Park Small font, lower tier placement of name or company name on the Fort Tuthill Bike Park web page at Flagstaffbiking.org. Construction supporter Donations less than $1000 made to directly offset the costs of construction of a phase may be recognized on next iteration of the temporary signage. [6]
g Multi-year & cumulative donations g All levels are cumulative. If a sponsor commits to multiple years of sponsorship that will accumulate to a higher level, the sponsor s level of recognition will be increased upon achieving that higher donation level. Signage will be updated roughly annually until the project is built-out. Upon completion of the Park, permanent signage will be constructed showing total cumulative donor levels for the lifetime of the Park. g In-kind donation values g In kind donations that directly offset construction expenses will be considered at the value that they offset. (For example, direct discounts on rental equipment, donations of materials that would need to otherwise be purchased.) Donations of raffle items, facilities for fund-raising events, etc., will be recognized through that event or fundraising effort only, and not with recognition through this Sponsorship Program. g Exceptional donations g Very large donors ($100,000+) may negotiate other recognition and benefits. Please contact trails@flagstaffbiking.org to initiate this discussion process. g Donations less than $1000 g Donations of less than $1000 are greatly appreciated and every effort will be made to recognize these donations and support through promotional items, verbal recognition at events, etc. Donations by an individual or business that cumulatively total over $1000 will be recognized at the appropriate level if these donations are not part of a specific fundraising event. Donations less than $1000 made to directly offset the costs of construction of a phase may be recognized on next iteration of the temporary signage. Donations towards a specific fundraising event, in kind or financial, will be recognized as part of that event only. g Anonymous Donations g We are, of course, happy to accept anonymous donations. Please specify at the time of the donation that you would like the donation to remain anonymous. g Logo or font size & placement determinations g Logo and/or font sizes and placement will be determined by available space, number of sponsors and alphabetical order. Every effort will be made to accommodate logo shapes in an equitable manner. [7]
[ Contacts ] If you would like to sponsor or donate to the Fort Tuthill Bike Park, please see page 6 for the specific sponsorship tiers and benefits. If you have any questions, or if you would like to work out details, please contact Anthony Quintile at trails@flagstaffbiking.org or (928) [ Resources ] Fort Tuthill Bike Park Concept Plan, developed by International Mountain Bicycling Association Trail Solutions FBO/CCP&R Partnership Agreement FBO s Fort Tuthill Bike Park web page CCP&R Fort Tuthill Bike Park Facebook Page CCP&R Fort Tuthill Bike Park web page Photos courtesy of Coconino County Parks and Recreation [8] White paper on the economic and health benefits for the Fort Tuthill Bike Park
