1 Southland Hockey SHA Annual Equipment Sale The Southland Hockey Association (SHA) is a non-profit organization that relies on community and corporate support to help us deliver a hockey program which keeps kids active, healthy as well an opportunity to be surrounded by positive leaders in our communities! Some of our costs associated with running a Minor Hockey Club include ice rental, equipment, registration advertising, and community events. It is important for us to offset these costs; your support allows SHA to keep expenses for our families and young athletes as low as possible. As part of the Hockey Calgary League, Southland Hockey represents an opportunity for athletes between the ages of 3 and 21 to participate in a team and develop their hockey skills. This sponsorship package will familiarize you with an opportunity to support the Southland Hockey Association. Please take time to read it. Sponsors are needed for Southland Hockey s Volunteer Salute & Champions BBQ This exciting day will take place Saturday September 13 th, 2014 at the Louis Riel School Yard adjacent to Oakridge Arena. Every Southland Hockey Family (500+) is invited to attend! This event offers an exceptional opportunity for our families to gather, reconnect and take time to offer a Thank You to countless Volunteers as well give much overdue recognition to the players from 3 Southland Esso Minor Hockey Week Champion Teams from 2013 & 2014! In addition to the Champions BBQ the Annual SHA Used Equipment Sale will run from 11am 4pm! At the conclusion unsold/unclaimed items will be generously donated to Sport Shack, helping kid Hosting an Event like this takes organization, volunteers, commitment and funds it is important for us to find engaged & enthusiastic sponsors to help us create opportunities and accessibility for our kids. By Sponsoring The Food at The Champions BBQ, you will provide an essential component of this fantastic community event. Your Sponsorship will go directly to offsetting the cost of providing food and food service items to all in attendance. Your business will be promoted locally at the arena, SHA Equipment Sale, Champions BBQ as well as online. Flag or Traditional Banner(s) (supplied by your company) will be thoughtfully displayed at this multi-community event. Through the association of your brand with the Southland Hockey Club, our website will provide your company with a reach to all Southland Hockey Families. 4 Other Opportunities Other opportunities for you to invest in your community of Southland Hockey Association and the Volunteer Salute & Champions BBQ can be custom tailored to meet your needs. With your help and direction we can be innovative and responsive making your investment work for both you and the community. Did You Know Southland Hockey Association includes the communities of Bayview, Braeside, Canyon Meadows, Cedarbrae, Haysboro, Oakridge, Palliser, Pump Hill, Southwood, Woodbine and Woodlands! With well over 30 teams from Mighty Mites to Midget, over 100 Team and Coaching Dinners and Lunches take place each season. Our association plays in Up to 60 Out of Town Tournaments, booking travel and accommodation throughout Alberta, B.C., Saskatchewan and elsewhere. Each year our teams open over 30 seasonal bank accounts. All these teams purchase prizes, gifts, team swag and other items. Most teams run fundraising events like Pub Nights, Auctions, Draws, and Trip Giveaways. Equipment, skate maintenance, several skill and power skating clinics are purchased regularly. Most Southland Hockey Players and their families live active lifestyles, play other sports and frequently travel domestically and internationally. The ages of our communities contributes to a boom of renovations and home repair projects. We re doing a lot in our community! The most important part of this vision is to provide the essential tools to our players allowing them to develop not only their next stage within the sport of Hockey but to equip them with self-improvement and team skills important in all other life pursuits.
