1 GPMC NEWS The Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club Newsletter Visit our website at Volume 28 Issue 3 March, 2013 Next Meeting Wednesday, March 6, at King s Restaurant, Harmarville Board Meeting 7:00 pm, General Meeting 7:30 pm Greetings Pony Lovers The GPMC membership express is continuing into We ve already signed up our sixth new member of the year, and it s only mid-february. With all the events coming up this summer, especially the PVGP, we ll have a unique opportunity to round up even more ponies for our corral. Plans for Can-Am this year are nearly complete. This is the 20 th anniversary Can-Am, which, combined with Mustang s 50 th birthday, could generate a bigger turnout than the 50 Mustangs we had the last time we hosted Can-Am. We ve finalized arrangements for the Saturday evening dinner, and the registration form is now available on the member-only section of our website. We ll have hardcopy forms available at upcoming meetings. It s not too early to register for Can-Am ($10/person) and for the various PVGP Marque of the Year activities. We had another planning meeting of the Marque of the Year committee with PVGP representatives on February 7 th. The PVGP booth at the World of Wheels was a huge success, as we got the word out to hundreds of people that Mustangs are going to take over Pittsburgh this July. Ed is putting together a list of roles & responsibilities that our members can volunteer to fill. Starting with the Kickoff Rally on July 7 th, all through Race Week, and culminating on Race Weekend July 19-21, PVGP officials want a Mustang display as part of every activity. We plan to have members present at every event, and we need someone to take a lead role at several venues, such as the Downtown Parade & Car Show. We ll continue to circulate the list at the March meeting. Don t forget, we re also holding our All Ford-Powered Show on June 23 rd. This will be our 15 th anniversary car show, so let s do ourselves proud. Contact Ed if you d like to volunteer to help out. Last but not least, we re working on plans for a Spring Blossom Tour. Plans are still uncertain at this point, so I don t want to say too much just yet. We should have more details by next month. We had a standing-room-only turnout at our February 6 th meeting, with over 45 members present. Be sure you don t miss our next meeting at King s Family Restaurant in Harmarville on March 6 th. Keep those motors runnin, Ken
